Kaylin Benick, a junior at Slipper Rock, plays on the women's basketball team. She grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and was recruited by a coach who unfortunately passed away. The recruiting process made Slipper Rock feel like home to her. She values the relationships and friendships she has built with coaches, teammates, and athletic trainers. The tight-knit athletic community is important to her. My name is Kaylin Benick, and I am a junior here at Slipper Rock, and I'm also a women's basketball team. I am a guard. I graduated from Trinity High School, but actually grew up in a small town called Bryce's Landing, Pennsylvania. My freshman year coach, who recruited us, and is a big reason why I'm here today. He passed away last summer, and just the whole recruiting process, he came to a bunch of our games, was really there for us. When we came on a visit, it just felt like home. I've met so many great people from sports and athletics, whether it's been a coach, or a teammate, or even our athletic trainers. And even the athletic community as a whole, I think that I'm very knit tight with. I think just the relationships, the friendships that I've built, is what means the most.
