The speaker discusses the experiences of transgender individuals in the UK and questions if the country is regressive in addressing their needs. They highlight that trans issues are not prioritized in various organizations, media, sports, and same-sex schools, and emphasize the importance of protecting trans people and creating a more inclusive environment. They suggest that improving schools for trans individuals will benefit society as a whole and advocate for legislation and practices to support gender-expansive children. They believe that promoting education and diversity will lead to a more functional environment and increased profit for businesses. So, I'm just going to bring everyone back to what we've discussed today. Just speaking about trans individuals' experiences in the UK, is the UK regressive in the way that we hope it is? It's clear that throughout many different organisations, the media, sport, same-sex schools, everything, that trans issues are under-researched and need more priority in protecting trans people. This will help us strive to reach a more inclusive environment for everyone. By making schools a better place for trans people, this will improve and educate our wider society. By enforcing legislation and practices for adults and teachers, this will strengthen and provide a more supportive and encouraging space for gender-expansive kids. By doing this, more education will allow businesses and practices to become more diverse too, resulting in a better functioning environment and more profit.
