WHEN JESUS SHOWS UP

Bless the name of Jesus. Saint John chapter 11 I will try to make a summary And encourage somebody with the word of God this morning. For the word of God is a package. It is. It has got all that you need. It always reminds me of my father's last dying words. It was myself and my elder brother. We visited him at his dying bed in hospital. He had prepared two Bibles for us. He gave each a Bible. And he said these words to us. You boys. I might have disappointed you. Having not given you all that you had wanted. But I believe this is the day that I must fulfill a promise of doing everything for you. That I give you these books. And all that I have made promises to you about. Are in there. He said there are keys to your houses in there. There are keys to your cars in there. There are keys to every life doors in there. I was angry. Because I looked I couldn't find it. Until I discovered that I must still look for the keys. There are few keys that I have found. I have not got them all. But I am still busy looking. Keep looking. You shall find. Few verses I want to read to you. John 11 verse 38. Jesus therefore again groaning in himself came to the grave. It was a cave and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said take ye away the stone Martha. The sister of him that was dead said unto him Lord. By this time he stinketh. For he had been dead for days. Jesus said unto her. I not unto thee that if thou wouldest believe. Thou shouldest see the glory of God. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said. Father I thank thee thou hast heard me. Verse 42. And I knew that thou hearest me always. But because of the people which stand by I said it. That they may believe that thou hast sent me. Verse 43. And when he thus hath spoken. He cried with a loud voice. Lazarus come forth. And he that was dead came forth. Bound hand and foot with grave clothes. And his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said unto them. Loose him and let him go. Maybe chapter 12 for the interest of reading. So that we may have a brief talk. The first verse. Then Jesus six days before the Passover came to Bethany. Where Lazarus was which had been dead. Whom he raised from the dead. There they made him supper. And Martha served. But Lazarus was one of them. That sat at the table with him. I want us to grab verse 2. There they made Jesus supper. And Martha served. But Lazarus was one of them. That sat at the table with him. And the people of God say Amen. That's the reading of the way. My caption this morning shall be as simple. I will try and paraphrase from the paragraphs that we have just went through. When Jesus shows up. Restoration is bound. Once he shows up. Surely things come together. What was lost. Get found. What was missing. Get back to its original place. For the word Restoration. Means bringing it back to its original state. Now the book of John. By John the disciple himself. A very different book from other synoptic gospels. Through the style of his writing. It is very simple though to understand. He is very simple though to understand. John a cousin to Jesus Christ. He had an encounter with Jesus while he was still in the womb. He started kicking, fleeing. But this that was carried by Mary. Was the one that would come before him though he came forth. He had such an encounter with Jesus. Bible scholars will tell you that he was the one who was always close by the bosom of Jesus Christ. So loved to Christ. So loved to Christ. To a point that the love Jesus had for John. Provoked the disciple. Because when others were sent to him. John would remain in the bosom. Jesus had so much love for John. So now when he writes John. As a family member to Jesus. He had also undergone the process of being a disciple. He received the call come ye. You are heavy laden. I will give you rest. His way was not made easy. He came through the right way. He was not licensed because he was family. He was amongst the rest when they were sent two by two to Samaria. He was amongst them. He had undergone every process that you may think of of a disciple. Now when he writes you understand his style of writing. He is one synoptic writer that refers more to the old testament. Come with me let me do a few minutes of bible study here. He quotes more from the prophets. And if you can try and analyze his book Malaza. You will find a lot of similarities with the book of Genesis. Chapter one of Genesis in the beginning God. When he starts writing in the beginning was the world. And the world was with God. The same that was with God was God. He comes as if he was simplifying the old testament. Chapter two of Genesis we find a wedding officiated by God. And when John comes to the floor he also picks up a wedding. And he says miracles began at a wedding. Because there is no miracle in church if there is no miracle in your wedding. Chapter three of Genesis. You see there the fall of man. But when John notes in chapter three of his writing. He notes there the rising of man. When Nicodemus had to visit Jesus in the middle of the night. And the rising of man was through new birth. And if and so you fell from grace. But you can rise. When you are born anew. When you are born in Jesus. The aim of John. Was not to show people to the things that Jesus had done. He had wanted to show people. To Christ himself. He had wanted people. To find Christ. It is the same John that records. And says. You study the scripture. And the scriptures themselves. They justify according to me. Because when you go through scripture. They must be a map. They must be a pointer. That makes you to find Jesus. That was the whole idea of John. That people could find Jesus. When you get to Genesis chapter four. Then we hear about worship. To the sons of Adam. But when you get to John's writing chapter four. He corrects the worship. And argument between the daughter of Samaria. He is saying you worship that which you know. And we worship that we know. And all that worship God. You must say amen. And worship it in spirit. Because our God is a record. A John recording. I don't want to take you further. But you can get through all the chapters. You will find the most memorable thing. It is the same John that records. Jesus providing people with bread. The same John that records. When Jesus no longer provides bread. Him being bread himself. Because we have to elevate from eating from him. And find to eat him. Not from him. But from him. And Christ is formed with him. Because when he is formed with him. Restoration. Whatever was lost. Whatever was lost. Shall come back. But in chapter 11 where we are. When you go to chapter 11 of Genesis. There you see the people coming in agreement. And decide to go to God. And you honor God. And God divides them. Through talk. In chapter 11 where we are talking. We hear two women. Two sister women. Not in a country name. Of the same seed. This chapter. There was a man by the name Lazarus. When we know he was loved by Jesus. When we know he was a friend of Jesus. The Bible say he got ill. But because he was ill. Send a message to Jesus. The one you love. Is ill. Hold their speck of cheese. For it will show up. Days of delay. I think it was in the day of technology. They sent a water apple. To say the one you love. Is not well. Now a water apple when it arrives. It tells. It speaks twice. A water apple is red. It tells. It is blue. Believe in the same issue of Jesus. The water apple arrives. And it was red. But Jesus was quiet. He is sometimes quiet. As if he does not care. My question is. How can you be quiet Jesus? When the one you love. Is not well. And you know about it. As if Jesus was saying. It is not about the sickness. It is not about the sickness.
