The Sports Uncaged show on WCCU Radio discussed the recent NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings. The hosts mentioned that the game was sloppy and had many turnovers. They also talked about DeAndre Swift's impressive performance and his consistent gains throughout the game. Overall, the hosts expressed frustration with the Eagles' performance so far this season. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined by Parker and Lee. First show, I mean, with this group, starting things off to wrap up the week. A lot of, you know, NFL stuff going on. We're finally back. It feels like it's been so long. Just to even see teams playing, like, and, like, seeing it on TV is just, ugh. Especially when that Byrds was playing last night. Dude. Come on, bro. Okay. But, uh. Nobody want to hear about that. Everyone want to hear about the Byrds. Trust. Trust. But, uh, before we get into that, um, just real quick for the intro, uh, can we get Parker to say where you're from, your favorite team, and then Lee, you as well? All right. I'm from Lexington, South Carolina, and my team is the Carolina Panthers. Okay. Not respectable. I'm Lee. I'm from Richmond, Virginia, and I'm a Cowboys fan. Not respectable. I knew that was coming. Dude. Come on, now. No, I feel it. I don't feel it, but I can respect it, you know? Where are you from, Christian? I'm from, like, right outside of Philly. Oh, word. Okay. So, it's understandable, I guess. Gotta rep the brand, you know? I guess, yeah. So, like, how did you become a fan of the Cowboys? Uh, my dad was a Cowboys fan whenever I, like, got into football, and then I was like, well, here we are. Yeah. Okay. I mean. Yeah. I can get behind that. But, uh, before we hop into, uh, really football with last night's slate, I also want to hit on Aaron Rodgers a little bit, just because I haven't had the chance to. Uh, I want to talk about. I just want to voice my frustration on this. I know it's the FIBA Olympics or whatever, the play-in Olympics, but as the United States, how do we not place a medal in basketball? Because we're not playing any, like, All-Stars or anything like that. So, we're not going to play any All-Stars. We're not going to play any All-Stars. We're not going to play any All-Stars. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I'm your host, Christian Mitchell. Join Parker and Lee in studio with me. We're going to switch things up. We were talking a little basketball in the intro. We're going to switch into football. Friday, we had a big Thursday night game. One of the... I mean, if you put this game with the last year's State of Thursday, it's probably the best Thursday night game because of how terrible and low-scoring they were. Compared to all the ones last year, you mean? Yeah, that was kind of rough. I guess, yeah. There were a lot of boring primetime games in general last year. Broncos got stuck in there a lot. Oh, my God, dude. Every week. Yeah, so we're going to hit the birds. Obviously, not a very pretty win or impressive win. Very sloppy game all around. I'm going to start with Parker. What initial reactions do you have from last night? I'd say that so far this season, I've seen the Eagles play really close games. It's not really as far-stretched out games, like win margins as last year. But the Eagles are still getting the job done like they need to. And Kirk Cousins technically played well, but he also said there was four turnovers throughout the game, and that could have been a game-changer. It could have made it a lot closer than it was. For sure. Lee? I thought the Vikings came out looking better than they played in week one, which was weird because it's a short week and it's against a better team than the Bucs were. But they just came out and played better. I mean, Jefferson played pretty well aside from that one little fumble that went through just inside the pylon. That rule is annoying, in my opinion. I guess it worked out in y'all's favor in last night's game. But it was like, I don't know. I feel like they played well. Their receiver corps played pretty decent. I mean, Osborne had a couple drops. But Addison played really, really well for a rookie. It was an exciting offensive game in the second half, for sure. I mean, it didn't go the way I wanted it to, being a Cowboys fan. But it was definitely exciting. I would be doing the same thing. Always got to root against it. Oh, yeah, yeah. Best time hater. Yeah, for sure. But, yeah, I'm going to really just piggyback off that very sloppy game. Vikings had four turnovers. Kirk Cousins, ironically, played really well. Like, he played well enough to win that game, for sure. No interceptions. He had the fumble, though, right? And then there was a one on the punt. I'm trying to remember all of them. It was a strip sack, a punt, Jettas fumble out the end zone, and Madison. Madison, yeah, that's right. Yeah. So those are just – that's the difference right there. The bird turned the ball over once. The offense was not good the majority of the night. Just hasn't looked like themselves to start the year. And it's really frustrating to sit and watch, especially after talking all offseason. We'll be back after the break. This has been Sports Uncaged. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University, student-run radio station. I'm your host, Christian Mitchell, joined by Parker and Lee. Before the break, we were talking NFL. And we're just going to hop straight back into that. Didn't really get a full breakdown on the Eagles and the Vikings last night. First, we'll continue it, not first. I want to hit on DeAndre Swift, kind of coming out of nowhere, 175 yards, touchdown, had 28 carries. It wasn't like a breeze haul where he broke out like an 80-yard run and then it was just, you know, whatever. I felt every time he was getting the ball, he was getting consistent, you know, six yards each time. Oh, yeah. He was playing really, really well, definitely better than expected. Also, he got like, you said 28 carries? Yeah. That is actually ridiculous. Yeah. He was getting the ball. He had a few tough carries right there. They just handed him another ball. Yeah, seriously. But, yeah, Swift played well. But I feel like that's also a testament to our offensive line. Oh, yeah. His offensive line, shaky against New England. New England's got a good front, you know, Jude on everything. But tonight, well, last night I was expecting to see more from the O-line and things started off shaky, like straight up. There was a lot of pressure on Jay and the Hurts in the beginning. So, to see them, you know, kind of go back to their identity from last year of, okay, we're better than you up front and we know you're better than, like we know we're better than you, so we're just going to run until you stop us. It was awesome. I was smiling, you know, the vibes were great. Also, I want to pivot on Jefferson on Slay. A lot different outcome. Oh, much different. Yeah. He's really, I mean, he broke out to some extent, you know, quote-unquote broke out last year. We already knew he was going to be insane. But then, I mean, this year he has really, there was one catch he had that it was like a dig route and Kirk threw it over the middle and Slay was in front of him and Jefferson just reached through and caught it. And it was so crazy. I mean, you do not see that like ever. That's really elite talent. He might, I mean, it's between him and Hill for best receiver in the NFL. It's got to be, right? For sure, for sure. I would, I mean, Tyreek is just ridiculous. I would still lean a little bit on Jefferson over Hill. I think that's probably, I don't know which way I go because, I mean, Hill can do more with his athleticism. I think personally, if I'm throwing it up to the end zone, I'm going for Jefferson first because Hill is more of a slot and you throw it to the ball and he runs past you. Yeah. He has the ability to jump, too. Yeah, I mean, with Tyreek, though, with Tyreek, it's almost like you're throwing to a spot. Like you're throwing it like, okay, I'm throwing it on like this hash or I'm throwing it towards the outside corner and Tyreek is going to run under it. Justin Jefferson, you're throwing it in that general radius and he's going up and he's pulling it in. Yeah, that's a really good way to put it. That hash over the middle over Slay last night was ridiculous. Slay coughed his arms under the ball like he was about to pick it off literally the same way he picked off Mac Jones, like same hand motions and just somehow, like watching that live, I thought that was for sure about to be an interception. I thought so, too. I was like, I thought it was going to be like a tie or something, you know what I mean? I thought they were both going to get it but Jefferson just snagged it right out. It was crazy. Had the stronger hands in that one. There was no Bradbury last night and the headaches went down as well in the middle of the game. So it really was just kind of Slay and our practice squad guys versus the world. And that's probably a good bit of the reason why the deep ball was working for the Vikings last night, especially on that one touchdown pass to Addison down the seam. That was a really – I mean he just – Straight past him. Straight past him and then he caught it. I guess Kirk probably underthrew it or something because he kind of had to slow up to catch it, if I remember correctly, and then he just kind of spun out and the DB did not tackle him at all. I think that was Goodrich's practice squad called up a corner and, yeah, it really showed. That was such a terrible tackle attempt. And it was kind of like on the Eagles side, the same thing as at the Devonta Smith long touchdown where they both just – they got that first step and it seemed like there was some sort of miscommunication. It seemed like on both of those plays, each of the corners thought there would be a safety over top. They were kind of playing like – playing the side and that just wasn't the case. Miscommunications defensively were another thing for the Eagles with that K.J. Osborne wide open. Oh, yeah. That was some crazy busted coverage. I was trying to figure out like what kind of defense they were running when they were showing the replays and I like – I could not figure it out. I'll just have to throw up some All-22 and watch it, but like it was crazy. I also saw that A.J. Brown, he was getting a little heated with Hertz on the sideline. Yeah. He had the ball thrown to him. He got that one touchdown that got called back for holding. I forgot who he was holding, but – It was Rashad Petty on the – Oh, that's right, right, right, yeah. That season, yeah. Yeah. But no, that hurt. That hurts a lot, honestly. I have – I mean I'm a huge Eagles hater and I have Brown on one of my fantasy teams and I was like, come on dude, like I needed that. Like even if the Eagles are going to – I mean I expected the Eagles to win this game. I didn't expect them to blow them out as bad as last year, but like I was like they're going to win this game. I need something out of A.J. Brown. And he did not put up any sort of numbers. He wasn't really getting targeted that much though. No, he wasn't and that's – the Eagles passing game has not been good. Yeah, it's weird. It's almost like their play calling is they're scared to like throw over the middle with Hertz or something, which is like last year they were – I guess they were throwing a lot of go routes and deep posts and stuff, but like they're not running – I mean they're really only throwing screen passes and I mean that's probably part of the reason we went off so much. Yeah, like just – I think it's the Eagles are coming in obviously like most teams that are in the Super Bowl get picked apart in free agency. Saw that a lot defensively, especially from the Eagles. And with a lot of injuries on defense as well, they were moving – the Vikings in the second half were moving the ball almost at will. They were stopping themselves when they would turn the ball over and then battle out like the Eagles as a team really. And I think for the Eagles their offensive and defensive struggles have really been losing both of their coordinators. Oh, yeah. Just trying to like adapt to that fully because losing one coordinator can be hard enough, you know, trying to find your footing on one side of the ball. But in that instance you can rely on the offense, you know, keep you in the game. You can rely on the defense to keep you in the game, which is kind of what the Eagles defense did last week. But it just – it hasn't happened. Right. They haven't seemed to put it together, which is – I don't know if frustrating is the word, but it's kind of disappointing to watch just knowing what they could be. Yeah, it's got to be. I totally understand what you mean by that. Yeah, so – I'd say I'd still like wait until like – I'd say probably about like midseason to like really judge who's going to be like top contenders in the playoffs. For sure. Because I know that – in my opinion, I think the one person that I can say 100% confidently even after only like two weeks that's definitely making it is probably the 49ers. They're making the playoffs. There's no doubt in my mind on that one. Yeah, certainly. But there's a lot of like weird wins in these two weeks where I'm just like – I'm not exactly confident in those teams that exactly like won the games. But I will say the Cowboys showed out. They stumped the Giants. Giants didn't do anything. And I was expecting that Giants to be much improved with Darren Baller. Yeah, I was too. Going into the game, I was thinking like – I mean, this is going to be a tough game. Like they won a playoff game last year and they certainly – I mean, they didn't really lose much and they added pieces on both sides of the ball, I thought, and then there was no competition going on. It was – I mean, the rain was pretty driving. Like it was pretty serious rain up there. So I understand that like it was hard to throw the ball. I mean, even like we saw a bunch of drops from Dallas too, which is like crazy to even think about because they put up 40 points. But I don't know, man. Week one there was a lot of rain. Yeah, the whole like northeast was – I think that was probably part of the reason that Cincinnati looked so rough too. Yeah, I was just about to hit on that. Week one, you know, especially for the Bengals, like Joe Barrow has been practiced, hasn't really played, just stepping in and it's pouring against a good – like a quality Browns defense away. They've gotten good this offseason. They're real good. Like they were getting back there and I was just like shocked because I was like, what's happening to the Bengals of all time? I was like they're just – like as soon as he snaps the ball, they were there. Exactly, yeah. I was like – They need to get their stuff together because I have Joe Barrow and Jumaane Fahey. We combined for I think like nine points or something like that last week. Like so? Yeah, it was ridiculous. Dude, T. Higgins had six targets, no catches. I think Chase went in with like 39 yards or something like that or it was under 100. It was way under 100, yeah. He might not even have had 40. Yeah. Yeah, I want to say it was 30-something. It was atrocious. It was – oh, I was sitting at work, right, for this game and I have one monitor up my work, the other monitor I had red zone on. And I'm like, oh, yo, the 1 o'clock window, Browns, Bengals, this game's probably about to be fired, probably the best game of the window. Yeah. No. No, it was terrible. That Colts and Jags game was nice. It was. It was a really good game. It was. Anthony Richardson looked really good. We're going to hit on that over the break. This has been Sports Uncaged. Thank you for listening. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University, student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined by Parker and Lee. We've been talking all NFL so far, mostly hitting on the Eagles and the Vikings game from last night. Now we're going to switch it up and we're going to look forward to next week. We've got what could have been a way better game, probably game of the week, probably game of the week looking at it last week with the Jets taking on the Cowboys. You know, Lee, you being a Cowboys fan, why don't you start here? All right. Even if Rodgers was playing, I still think I would take Dallas. I mean, at home. And, you know, Rodgers going into, I guess it is a system he's familiar with, but like with players, you know, they just brought Hackett in, so it's going to be a whole different situation. I don't know. I don't know. Now that Rodgers is out, I think after what we saw last week with how the Cowboys played and how the Jets played, I think the Cowboys are probably going to end up taking this one home. But it's going to be a really good defensive game, I think, either way. Like, the Jets defense is not a joke. Like, they are very, very serious. They have one of the best secondaries in the league. I mean, they have Quentin Williams, and that defensive line is awesome. Is C.J. Mosley finally healthy? C.J. Mosley has been playing, yeah. Yeah. I know he was injured for like essentially two years, but I don't really know. He's kind of like a fossil now. Yeah, exactly. He's got mad tackles still. I don't know. Somehow. I think that the Cowboys are probably still going to take it because of how they showed out last year. No, not last year, last game. And the Jets, they got lucky on a punt return. It was an undrafted rookie that had a punt return touchdown at the end of the game. And from my personal standpoint, it looked like the receivers of the Jets were making Zach Wilson look good because his touchdown to Garrett Wilson on the left corner of the end zone, Garrett Wilson took it back himself. That was insane. Like three times. That was awesome to watch. That was probably, that was the most astonishing catch I've seen since Jefferson versus the Bills last year. Like I was so shocked watching that happen. I thought for sure that was like 100% going to be a pick like right there. Yeah, I mean. It was the way it dined to the other team. And it was over Trey White who's like, he's pretty solid. Locked down corner. Yeah. Like that's a play I'm sure he was expecting to make. Yeah. And he like, he did make the play to be honest. It was just a great catch from Garrett Wilson. And that just kind of like is upsetting to see because we know we're not going to get Aaron Rodgers to Garrett Wilson this year. And I was so excited for that all off season. Big on Garrett Wilson. Great obviously rookie of the year last year. And just for, oh, that was terrible. Like not having Aaron Rodgers or not being able to even like watch him play with his Jets team is just such a like a, it's like a disappointment. It's nobody's fault. You know, it happens. It's such a let down. The expectations were so high that maybe it's a good thing in case they didn't live up to expectations. But like it's just, oh, that was so deflating watching. And just instantly, I was watching the game as soon as it happened, what, four plays I think? Yeah, I think it was the fourth snap of the game, yeah. Yeah, like that it just, it sucks to see. And unfortunately I think we're going to see the same Jets from last year at the end of the day. I think, yeah, that's probably the case. So, I mean, a lot of their players have definitely gotten better. Their core is a year older. They have another training camp under their belt. They'll get more game experience like Sauce and Garrett Wilson and all that. They're going to be so, so good I think. But Zach Wilson going against, I mean, against this Cowboys defense, which could easily be the best defense in the league come the end of the year, that is going to be so rough. And I think, if I'm not mistaken, didn't one of the Jets linemen go down last week? That I'm not sure about. I forget who it was. I don't know. I might be just tripping. But I think one of them did. And then regardless, I mean, we saw how it went with the Giants starting line, and the Jets don't necessarily have a, yeah, they don't necessarily have a premier offensive line. That's going to be really rough for Zach Wilson going against just all three levels of that defense are so, so good. Yeah, I think it's going to be a lot, literally like a lot from last year, where Brees Hall, Garrett Wilson, Sauce, their defense as a whole, they're going to get, the defense is going to generate turnovers. They're going to play well. When you're talking best defenses, you're talking them, the Cowboys, the Niners really. And so they're going to keep them in games, and they're going to be in a lot of winnable games. And it's just going to come to the point where it's, hey, Zach Wilson, can we drive the ball down the field? Can we score with two minutes left? You know, stuff like that. And I just, hey, maybe having Aaron Rodgers in the building, you know, on the sideline with them will help him out. You know, like almost as a, literally acting as an extra coach, just guiding over them. And I mean, who else would you want really? Yeah, definitely. I'm sure he's even learned so much this training camp already. Like I haven't watched all of Hard Knocks, but it seemed like they were getting along pretty well. So I don't really. I'd say that the only thing I would say I'm worried about is the connection between Zach Wilson and his receivers. Because when the trade happened for Rodgers going to the Jets, you saw every single wide receiver's Twitter logo switch to Aaron Rodgers. Oh, yeah. Disregarding Zach Wilson and liking and laughing at all the memes made about Zach Wilson. So I'm a little bit worried on, like, what their connection is going to be coming into the next game. Yeah, they're going to have to bring Mike White back into the building. I fully understand that. And I'm sure, like, seeing Zach Wilson from his perspective, that was probably some of the toughest, like, few days. Oh, I'm sure. You know, especially all the outside pressure, you know, all the expectations that were placed on him. Him probably still feeling like he can, you know, go out there and be the guy. He gets his opportunity here. I do want to note the other night when they were playing, I believe it was Al Mazzard that went up to Zach Wilson on the sideline after he threw that early interception. And he was just, like, he was hands on his shoulders, you know, talking him through it, whatever, which is, I think, really, you know, great. Like, that's a great sign to see if you're a Jets fan, you know, maybe not through, like, the season away. But, yeah, the Cowboys, they should win this game. Their defense is great. Offense is inconsistent, so maybe the Jets will be. I mean, every offense is kind of inconsistent, to be honest. Yeah. But maybe, like, if the Jets defense are able to get, you know, two or three turnovers, keep it within. If they can hold the Cowboys under 20 points, then we probably got a good, you know, game all the way. I know Brandon Cooks did suffer an MCL sprain, but it's, like, grade one. Suffered that in the game against the Giants. And they're not sure if he's going to play or not. But the reports are that, like, it's an injury that people play through relatively often. And Brandon Cooks being a vet, I'm sure he's going to want to go out there and play. And then also, like, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup being, like, healthy now, I think it's going to be definitely doable for the offense. Because, like, they didn't look fantastic passing the ball, but, like, I think so much of that was on the rain. Like, you literally can't throw and catch a ball. Like, in that driving of rain. So, I don't know. Yeah, I mean, they also, like, they didn't need to. Yeah, true. That game was just so out of hand. Yeah. The defense was putting up points, so it was kind of like, whatever. You could just hand the ball off. Yeah. Dude, I hate that Michael Parsons is on the Cowboys so much. I bet. I bet. He's so good and so fun to watch. And it's just, it sucks that he couldn't be on any other team, you know. But, yeah, that defense is scary, straight up. How they got Stephon Gilmore and there wasn't really, like, there wasn't really, like, as big of a market for him. Yeah, it was only for a fifth-round pick, I believe. And then Cooks was also for, like, a fifth and a sixth or something. I get the Cooks trade, but he's, like, literally perfect for what the Cowboys needed. Oh, yeah. Someone who can consistently be on the field. Not drop every single ball. Like, no brown. And just, yeah, consistently be on the field and serve as that second option. You don't need him to go for 1,200 yards. Yeah, exactly. You get 100 out of him, he plays all the games. Like, that's a content season. Yeah, exactly. Just, I really hate talking about the Cowboys. But Michael Parsons is probably this year's defensive player of the year. That's what I think. Had a huge argument for it last year. And, honestly, I don't think he's probably the best defensive player in the NFL. I would say so, yeah. I would say he's taken that over Aaron Donald at this point. Aaron Donald's still phenomenal. But as he's just getting older, you know, passing of the torch type moment. Yeah. And I'm sure the conversation that they'll have after their game this year is probably going to be crazy. Oh, yeah. But, yeah, just watching Michael Parsons in that defense just being so complete. You know, you got the Marcus Lawrence on the other edge. They drafted that defensive tackle. Molly Smith, yeah. And then you bring in Stephon Gilmore to pair with Trayvon Diggs. There's not really a weak spot on that defense. Yeah, it's crazy. This has been Sports Uncaged, and we'll be back after the break. You're listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined by Parker and Lee. We're going to stick with the NFL and talk an all-show. We're going to preview another game this week, an actual playoff matchup from last year. And it was a great game last year. We got the Chiefs taking on the Jags again. This time the Jags will be home. Parker, who you got in this game and why? I personally think that I'm still going to take the Chiefs mainly because I think they said that Travis Kelsey should be back this week. And I saw my home struggle a lot last week without him. But, like, when Kelsey's in the game, it's almost like nobody can guard him. He slips away like a receiver, and he runs just about as fast as a receiver at some points. And he's just big-bodied like Gronk used to be with the Pats. And everything just flows better, run game, pass game, when he's in the game. So I'm just probably going to take the Chiefs by maybe, like, one score, though. I feel you. I feel you. What's up, Lee? Do you know his favorite? I do not. Let me check. I don't know. I was thinking about that. I was like, who would even, I don't know, the Jags? It is that Jaguars home field advantage. But if they don't have the home field advantage. If Kelsey's playing and now Chris Jones is back for the Chiefs. Yeah, after that, like, I was about to ask, like, is there any update on Kelsey? The Chiefs are favored. By how much? Hold on. It's so hard to bet against my homes. I feel like you can, especially in this point. Yeah, and now that Kelsey's back. And then, I mean, their D-line wasn't, like, terrible without Chris Jones or anything. But now that Chris Jones is there. Just a playmaker, you know. The Chiefs are favored by three points. So, very close line. Personally would not be touching that line. Yeah, no, I think, I don't know. I have faith in the Jags. I think Trevor Lawrence could win MVP this year. I think that's totally on the table. He's so, so good. And, I mean, Calvin Ridley played great last week. So, I don't know. I might just, you know, be a little bold. Take the underdog. I mean, their home dogs might as well, like. Look, I'm going to ride with you here. I'm also going to take the Jaguars. They kept up with the Chiefs in the playoffs on the road last year. And then they add Calvin Ridley. Add Calvin Ridley. You get another year of Doug Pearson and Trevor Lawrence working together. You get another year of ETN, who also looked great last week. Yeah. Evan Ingram also. Now it's just they, when you look at their offense, they have legitimate weapons with Calvin Ridley. Oh, yeah. It's almost like the surrounding cast with Calvin Ridley just makes them more serious. Because now you've got Christian Kirk, who did play like a wide receiver one last year, in that second role. Zay Jones tried to touch down last week. Solid, number three, like whatever. ETN out the backfield and through the rush game opens up so much just for an offense. And then having Ingram there, you know, with his like career resurgence in Jacksonville. Somehow. He decided he can catch the football now. Yeah. Probably the best I think I've seen Jacksonville since like 2017 when there was the Saxonville. Yeah, yeah. Top tier defense and everything. They do still have their question marks, especially on defense. Yeah. I specifically want to hit on Trayvon Walker. Probably the most underappreciated, I don't want to say appreciated, the most under like covered by the media first round pick in recent memory. I mean, he's kind of similar to Jadavion Clowney in the sense that he's more of a run defender than a pass rusher. And I mean, he's pretty solid, I think. I don't know, he doesn't really get sacks or pressures like super insane like that. So it kind of, like I get why he's not super covered as much as Hutchinson is because he's a pass rusher, first and foremost. It is just weird like watching like this is now year two, year three? I want to say year two. And he just, I mean, he had an impact last year, but he's just like one of those, like he doesn't have like a set position almost. He's like an off-ramp Micah Parsons in that way. So it's kind of like, I don't know what to say. It's just weird. The numbers are probably getting misinterpreted that way, not really setting them up for like any highlight style plays like Hutchinson. But just like generally like looking back, it's only been a year, only been a year, and I'm sure they expected a guy like this to take a minute to develop. But it's kind of like how do you not pick Sauce or Hutch there, you know? Like imagine the Jaguars team was one of them two. Yeah. I feel like we're, I mean, I'm already pretty high on the Jags. You said you wouldn't be surprised if Trevor. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I would think Trevor could win MVP, especially with Ridley. It's just kind of the scripts coming together for him to break out, you know? I would like to say if you promise Trevor to go in and pop a house, he'll go win the game. Yeah. I'm going to jump over to the first, not the first, the second and the third quarterbacks taking off the board, where they're playing each other very early in their careers with Anthony Richardson taking on C.J. Straus and the Texans this week. Really just want to hit on how well Anthony Richardson played last week. I know. It was crazy. I mean, I was high on him last year during the draft because I thought like he could be, he's so athletic and has such a strong arm. He's kind of like a Cam Newton type of player if he reaches his potential, I guess. Frame and everything. Yeah, exactly. And he's working with, I forget the name of the coach, the guy that he was with the Eagles. Shane Steichen. Yeah, yeah. Jaylen Hurd. Yeah. So, I mean, now he has a, like not to be a hater, although I am, but you could say more athletic and possibly like if he gets the mechanics right, could be a better passer all in one. He could totally, I mean, he could blow mobile quarterbacks out of the water. For sure. Like even just looking at his combine and his measurements and everything, he was, I think, through the combine, like the most athletic player in the quarterback division. He has a ridiculous RAS score. I remember that. And, I mean, he's just a huge dude and he's so strong. Like there were so many passes that he threw that were just so far over throws. Yeah. Through the preseason and last week. Or like that would just be like, it looked like receivers had stone hands because they just could not catch anything. Because he's throwing heaters. Yeah, exactly. If he can get his mechanics right in the next year or two, I think he can seriously cause damage to the NFL. Yeah, I agree. It's just he's such a polarizing player almost. Oh, yeah. Huge project. The talent's there, but from a quarterback standpoint, like strictly how good is this guy, you know what I mean? Yeah. So, with that, I feel like there's always going to be kind of hate, and you see that with any Russian quarterback, whether it's Lamar and whether it's Jalen Hurts, you know. So, I understand the fair share of criticism he got, and I was part of it to a certain extent of how ready is this guy to play quarterback. Like he got picked fourth, I believe. Yeah, fourth overall. Is that a little high? Is he more like towards the top, back of the top ten, you know? But to see him come out and play on a just, I'm not going to lie, straight up terrible Colts offense without Jarvin Taylor. Yeah. And they didn't win their game, but they were competing. And they were in it. I mean, he did throw the pick to lose the game, I guess. Yeah, a rookie in his first game on a horrible offense. I don't know. You can't really expect that much from him. I'd say that so far out of all the rookie quarterbacks, especially from like the first round, he's probably definitely been the one that has proven that he deserved to be drafted that early. Yeah. I mean, C.J. Stroud looked rough. Yeah. Another offense of just no talent, really. Yeah. Like that Ravens defense was all over him. He looked like Daniel Jones last week. I mean, yeah, all three of the first quarterbacks that were taken off the board all lost in their debuts. But I would say out of them three, Bryce Young struggled, C.J. Stroud struggled. Them two both had tough – I mean, they all kind of had tough matchups, I guess Bryce Young was the easiest. But even then he threw two picks to Jesse Bates. Yeah. So I feel like that kind of speaks almost to what Caleb Williams was – well, his dad was saying where he might just like not go to the Cardinals. Yeah. I wouldn't blame him. Yeah, it was just like these great college quarterbacks just kind of get – I don't want to – like it's been one game. It's like I'm not going to – like obviously they're not ruined, but it's like they're just getting put in positions to go out there and fail and get heavily criticized with no real support, which kind of just like, you know, it sucks to watch. But for Anthony Richardson, just watching him go out there and, yeah, he made his fair share of mistakes. He threw that pick. He's a rookie. He's extremely raw. The Colts know that. Everyone in the league knows that, you know. So I feel like just seeing that from him is a great sign, even with – he is going to have to learn how to protect himself after he got licked. Oh, certainly. But that's just, again, one of those things that kind of comes along. And I'm sure we'll see more of that with C.J. Stroud. He had his own little issues. But he didn't turn the ball over against a very good Ravens defense. And I don't want to say they were in the game, but like they were in the game like score-wise for a little bit before, you know, Lamar and the Ravens got their act together. Yeah. But we'll touch on this after the break. This has been Sports Uncaged. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University, student-run radio station. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined by Lee and Parker. We've been talking all football for this show. For the outro, figured we might as well wrap it up with one little quick preview forward on the Ravens and the Bengals. Probably also should be a great, you know, AFC North rivalry game this week. We'll go to Parker – or, no, we'll go to Lee first. We'll switch things up. What you got – or who you got in this game? I got the Ravens. I think Lamar, I don't know what happened. He just – they were not clicking offensively, but I think they'll get Zay Flowers involved. Hopefully they can get Odell involved finally because his last couple of years have been pretty rough. But I guess aside from when he was with the Rams until he got injured. But I don't know. Like the Bengals did not look good at all. So I don't know if it was the rain. I don't know if it was just some weak run for us or what. But those AFC North battles are always really, really intense. I think Lamar's got it. I'm taking the Ravens. I'd say this game could probably go either way. It's probably going to be a closer game because I feel like both of them are kind of like around the same level as us in scoring points per game and like they're in the offense still. But I think the addition of Zay Flowers to that offense and then having Odell as somewhat of like a mentor towards Zay Flowers is helping both of them actually. And obviously the Ravens tight ends have always been a factor. And I think that they'll be able to protect Lamar or catch the ball in the middle and still win the game. I'm not sure when or if they're going to let Clowney play on the defense because he just got put over there. I don't think he'll be a factor in that game at all. I don't think he's starting yet or not. Yeah, I don't know. He's a little old now. He's on a world tour. He'd just be jumping from team to team. But the Ravens, ooh, the Bengals, they were bad last week. The Ravens are going to have – I believe they're going to have Mark Andrews back this week, which is going to be huge for their offense. Give that safety valve back to Lamar. And I'm also – I'm going to go with the Ravens here. The Bengals falling to 0-2 would be kind of ridiculous. It would be. But I truly do think they took a step back from last year with all the pieces they lost. They lost both their starting safeties. Their O-line is still kind of a puzzle going on. So I'm going to take the Ravens. And I want to thank you all for listening to our Friday show. This has been Sports Uncaged. Have a great weekend.
