Three, two, one. Did you know that the Greek word for horse is hippo? That's right, a horse is a hippo. Now, back in ancient Greek times, many famous people, even Hippocrates, talked about the relationship between writing and the human body. Now, fast forward to the 60s, and writing becomes an official therapeutic practice. And since then, equine and hippotherapy, we all know now, that means horse therapy, has grown from a simple writing to therapeutics that include occupational speech and cognitive behavioral therapy, plus a plethora of other things that they're treating. Today, Dana Butler-Molberg, she's the CEO of the Chase Center of Therapeutic Writing, she joins us. And their story started way back in the 70s, but today they're now one of the top equine assistance therapy centers in the world. Last year, they had over 1,400 participants in their various programs, and they treated over 75 distinct disabilities. Now, Dana tells so many inspiring stories. With such an emotional impact, you actually feel it right to your core. I felt it. I mean, I really felt it. Now, imagine this. You have a child or a loved one that's been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and you decide to put them on a horse. And then you watch them on that horse and that empowerment it gives them and the pride and joy it brings to both of you. Think about it. Now, there's so much in this episode today, and if you know someone that might benefit from this amazing therapy, please take a listen, and maybe you'll have some encouraging information to pass on. And get ready for another informative and heartwarming episode.
