Hello. Welcome to our second episode of Murder Experience. My name is Alejandro. My name is Luis. My name is Mateo and my name is Emily. Today we're going to be talking about the Candyman and a couple of his murders. Don Corle, aka the Pied Piper or the Candyman, was a sadistic pedophile responsible for the murder of at least 28 boys over a span of three years. Some even believe that he may have killed as much as 47, taking car and house keys from each victim as a trophy. Corle got his name because his family owned a candy making business called the Pecan Price. When his mother divorced and started her own candy company, he became the vice president. However, his mother had allegedly fired him for making sexual advances to her male employees. The candy shop also happened to be right across the street from his school, making it a prime place for him to find young victims. Corle's sole targets were males between the ages of 13 and 20, whom he had seen when he went into his apartment and helped the teenagers. One of the accomplices was 12-year-old David Brooks, whom he had met in 1967. Once he lured the boys into his apartment, he trapped them, put liquid torture bars in his bedroom, and raped, bit, and tortured them. Sometimes it would go on for days before he eventually strangled or shot them. The bodies were then tied in plastic sheets, then thrown into one of three mass graves. Corle had carved out his victims in a final cruel trick before killing them. He made the boys write letters to the parents, telling their officers, which caused police to assume the victims had successfully run away. Maybe he was attracted to males. I think maybe because males between these ages were easy victims. I think it was really like men didn't find women attractive. Also, the candy shop wasn't near a school, making it easy to attract boys, or because males were least expected for his part since he was a political man who loved kids. Another question we have is, how did he lure them into his apartment? Since he was near the school, he could tell the kids that he was going to pick them up or something and then lure them into his apartment. He was also in the army, and that means that maybe he made his uniform trustworthy for the kids to trust him. Mateo, what do you think about this story? I think it's really sad that people do this because, like, why are they doing this to boys? Like, they still have so much life. They still have so much opportunity. What do you think of Henry? I think it's really disgusting that he goes for such young kids when they haven't even, like, experienced everything. It's just really gross that he does all that. What about you, Luis? I think it's disgusting because he did that to 20 kids. 28 to be exact. And he may have killed as much as 47. So that's really, like, disgusting. Yeah, I think it's really sad. Pretty sad.
