Jack struggled at the start of writing project two because he couldn't settle on a genre and find evidence for his essay. Eventually, he chose discussion videos and compared them to newspaper articles. He concluded that there were more differences than similarities between the two mediums. He noticed that newspaper articles were shorter and the discussion videos provided more information and visuals. Jack chose to focus on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard controversy for his essay. Overall, he learned that different genres can vary significantly. So, I'm here with Jack, and we're breaking down a writing project to, Jack, tell me a little about yourself. How are you doing on this fine day? All right. Doing good? Yeah. All right. Perfect. So, tell me a little about writing project two. How was it? How was it to be a part of the process? How do you feel about it? At the start, I struggled quite a bit, because I couldn't settle on a single genre. I would pick one, but I couldn't find solid evidence to use in the essay. Yeah. Well, I finally found the one I use, which shows discussion videos. Okay. YouTube videos. Perfect. And I finally found that, I was able to address it. Sounds good. Great, man. And just like the audience knows, do you want to kind of explain a little bit of what is writing project two? Because you kind of threw in some genres and discussion boards. Yeah. Just so the listeners back home understand, like, what is writing project two to you? So, writing project two was we had to write an essay comparing newspaper articles to the genre of your choice. And it made me laugh. And I just chose discussion videos even bigger. That's awesome, man. So, what, like, you said you were comparing newspaper articles and discussion board videos. What was the, like, the conclusion? What kind of ideas did you come up with? How do you feel about that? I think it concluded that, I think it was that they had a lot more differences than similarities. That's awesome. And kind of what difference did you see between, obviously, like, a newspaper and a discussion board, that's way different. But, like, what did you see that was kind of jumped out to you? So, newspaper articles, they were typically, like, a lot shorter, like, four or five minute reads. Yeah. While the discussion videos, I think some of the ones I saw were, like, 20 minutes plus. Yeah. So, they were able to convey, like, a lot more information. Yeah. Probably more, like, visuals, right? You can probably see the discussion board better than you can a newspaper. That's awesome. Yeah. What kind of, like, how did you do it? Did you kind of compare different events? Did you have one singular event that you looked at and looked at various? I had, I just did one singular event. What event were you looking at? I did the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Oh, really? Yeah. That's really controversial. Yeah. That's awesome, man. So, based on, like, your experience in writing Project 2, what was kind of, like, what did you take away the most from all of it? What kind of, what was going to be your takeaway from all of this between, like, what did you learn? What was kind of the biggest thing? I guess I learned that, like, how different genres can be. Some, I'm sure there are some other genres that are fairly similar to either newspapers or standard videos. Yeah. But there's still, like, a lot of things different. Awesome. All right. For the listeners back home, it's our guy Jack. Let us know about writing Project 2. We'll see you next time on the podcast. Jack, any last words, any comments you want to make? No? All right. Peace.
