The "Additions to Daniel" are three chapters that are not found in the original Hebrew/Aramaic text of the book of Daniel in the Bible. These additional chapters, however, are included in the Greek Septuagint and the earlier Old Greek translation. They are considered canonical and are translated as such in Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox Bibles. These chapters are also acknowledged in Article VI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England. However, most Protestant versions of the Bible exclude these passages as apocryphal and only include the text that is available in the Hebrew/Aramaic manuscripts today. The three additions to Daniel are as follows: 1. The Prayer of Azariah and Song of the Three Holy Children: This passage is inserted between verses 23 and 24 (verse 24 becomes verse 91) of Daniel chapter 3 in Protestant Bibles.
