The speaker explains what conditional sentences are and how they are used. They discuss the zero conditional, which is used to state facts, and the first conditional, which is used to talk about future actions. They provide examples and explain the structure of each type of conditional. The speaker ends by offering assistance and contact information. Hi dear class, today we are going to learn a little bit about conditional sentences. But, what is a conditional sentence you may ask yourself? Well, a conditional sentence is a sentence used in order to give certain or different meanings that we want to give to a person regarding the condition or the context that we are in. But, for example, the zero conditional, you may ask yourself. The zero conditional is a conditional used in order to give facts or things that are established to the person that you are talking to. But, professor, how can I create a sentence using the zero conditional? Remember that when we create or when we want to create this type of conditional sentences, we must have a dependent and an independent clause. Remember that a dependent clause is a clause that lacks a complemented clause to deliver. And the independent one is the one that has a complex thought or idea. But, in order to create this type of conditional, we must use the tense, the simple verb, or the simple tense. Remember that the simple present we need to conjugate the verb depending on the subject that we are using. In this case, I am going to use the subject she or the name Marta and also the subject mother. So, you will understand better what I am trying to express. For example, this Marta comes to my mother to cook cookies. As you notice, in this case, I use the verb comes in the verb because both subjects are singular and they are simple. See the verbs, remember them. But, with the first conditional, the thing or the sentence changes a little. But, how does the structure change, professor? How does the structure change, professor? You may ask yourself. Remember that in the first conditional, what we do is asking the person for future in or when we want to refer to future in that we want to do. So, I am going to use the same type of sentence, the same structure, just by adding the verb will. With Marta comes, my mother will cook cookies. So, as you notice, I added the auxiliary verb will and the verb in the very original form that is cook. In this case, we are saying or we are trying to refer or we are trying to express the meaning that my mother will cook something in the future if that person comes, right? So, the meaning changes a little bit. So, remember, the zero conditional is used for facts and the first conditional is used in order to express future things, things that we want to do in the future. So, I do hope this class has helped you a lot.
