The Fredsham de Tejada School has a garden located 50 meters away. They are grateful to the Kells City Council for allowing them to use the land. Last year, they grew onions and lettuce, and this year they plan to grow garlic, tomatoes, lettuce, and carrots. The worms in the garden eat fruits and vegetables and produce compost. They use this compost to fertilize the garden. The worms are small and were brought from a hole by the City Council. Bienvenidos al podcast del Colegio Fredsham de Tejada. Os voy a explicar qué hacemos en el huerto. El huerto está localizado a 50 metros del colegio. El Ayuntamiento nos ha dejado el terreno. Le damos gracias al Ayuntamiento de Kells por dejarnos el terreno para hacer el huerto. Ahora os voy a pasar con la naturalista Roma. Roma, ¿qué cultivamos el año pasado y qué vamos a plantar este año? El año pasado habíamos cultivado cebollas y lechugas y este año creo que vamos a cultivar ajo, tomate, tomate creo que vamos a cultivar lechugas y zanahoria. Ahora os voy a pasar a Marie. Las lombrices comen frutas y vegetales y después producen compost. Ese abono lo utilizaremos para abono del huerto cuando recogemos las lechugas podemos dar las hojas para las lombrices otra vez como si fuese una cadena circular por eso es tan importante comer fruta para alimentar a nuestras lombrices. Pasamos ahora a mi amigo Yacin. Para el comedor o poner verduras a las lombrices para que coman bien sanos y fuertes y las lombrices son tan pequeñas y están traídas del Ayuntamiento. El Ayuntamiento las ha traído de un agujero. Adiós amigos.
