The "Aristipp and Some of His Contemporaries" - Volume 2 is a part of a four volume series written by Christoph Martin Wieland between 1800-1802. This series takes readers back to the heyday of Hellenic philosophy. While the story of Lais, the courtesan, is the starting point, the books delve into detailed critical descriptions of the various philosophical directions that developed from the Socratic school. Some editions of the series are split into three volumes while others have four. The first and third volumes are titled "Aristipp" as well.
