Appeal
Appeal

"Appeal" is a poem by Anne Brontë, a part of the collection "Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell," which was the first book ever published by the Bronte sisters. Although the book did not sell when it was first published in 1846, a second edition was published in 1850 after the sisters had made their names as novelists. "Appeal" was chosen as the Weekly Poetry project for February 5, 2012, and LibriVox volunteers have recorded 24 different readings of the poem. The poem's message and meaning still resonate with readers today, despite its initial lack of success.
