A group of people are playing a role-playing game online. They discuss how to roll dice and make their characters' actions private. They then transition to discussing M&M candies and jokingly rank them in terms of dominance and submission. The conversation shifts to mundane topics like laundry and household chores. Suddenly, one of the players, Idaho, wakes up in a luxurious bed in an unfamiliar room. He meets an invisible person named Sir Clave, who explains that Idaho's friends will join him soon and that the master will provide more information. Idaho's belongings are being washed, but his armor is safe. I'm recording. We'll do a little clap. Three, two, one. Okay, okay, I should get some kind of dice situation going on here. I can go get dice from upstairs, or can I open up Roll20, or... Here. Yeah, I'll do something real quick. Okay, you know what, just hop into the standard Roll20 that we have for the tree, Session 0. Yep. And I'm going to just set your thing to always whisper rolls. So none of my rolls are shown. Yeah, change to try rolling something. Well, did you just roll a d20? Yeah. Okay. It's fine. No one knows we're here. I could just be fucking around. Oh, I see, so I'll roll from my sheet. So you can roll from your sheet, or you can type in slash GM roll 1d20. Gotcha, I'm rolling from my sheet. From Wyatt, yeah, I think no one else can see that. So, I think we are good. Cool. All right, so, little context. You all just went through the portal. As you went through the portal, chaos ensued. Mordred got pulled off in one direction. You got pulled off in another direction. And the other two, maybe they got pulled off, maybe they hung to each other and clung on as tightly as they could. Who knows? We'll find out. Oh, I'll stop sharing screen. Who knows? We'll find out later. What matters is, Idaho, you feel yourself being pulled. And can I have a constitution saving throw just to see when you lose consciousness, basically. Oh god. Okay. Yeah, give me a second. Constitution saving throw. I do have a good constitution. Okay, okay, you constituted. But I don't have efficiency, so we'll see. That's a 14. Okay, a 14. You are pulled away. You go shooting down through this ephemeral space of colors and teals and pinks and blues. And you feel kind of your entire body go from moving incredibly fast to immediately still. And that causes all the blood to go up into your brain and you begin to pass out. We're recording. I didn't know that. You take him outside. This is a moment. I shall be. Dog has to pee and that overrules everything. So Wyatt, how's your house? It's good. It's good. Still there? There was a moment where I passed out, so I don't know, but that's a little subpar. You know, I think maybe the strategy going forward is to take dog outside before recording. And that's on me. I should have been like, hey, yeah. Just like how Wyatt went pee before we started recording, I should have gotten the dog to go pee before we started recording. So now the dog's outside. Welcome to my life, Wyatt. I want to have sex with the green M&M's. What? With the green M&M's. I forgot Shelby was within sound range. Like, what if we take this moment to just rank the M&M's by like, which ones I would have sex with? You can very easily do a Dom sub ranking with them. Okay, so we got red, you know, the leader, bit of an a-hole. Okay, so red, that man is a switch on the sub side. Yeah, and he's not a switch like he knows what he can switch. He's not sexually literate. No, he just so happens to be, yeah. I need to do laundry. I started the bed sheet. Okay, I'll help you with cleaning up later. Sound good? Like, I don't know how long you're going to take. We have like four hours before you have to leave. Okay, we'll be done within four hours. Okay, well, I don't know when that's going to be. Love you. Love you. So, the yellow M&M's. That's a Dom. Absolute Dom. And he knows what he's doing, too. But there's two other M&M's here that are more dominant than him. I think we should acknowledge them first. Brown M&M. Both the women's. Both the women's. Yeah, the green M&M looks like... The green M&M has like this, you know, she likes being about... The brown M&M, like, has the get-up. Like, she's the only M&M that wears heels. Yeah. And the orange M&M, the most sub that there is. Blue one, I'm not sure about. Blue one, you know, he's actually a virgin. He doesn't know. Oh yeah, wow. Yeah. But he'll find out. I honestly don't remember anything about the blue M&M. There's a purple one? I know, I'm seeing that, too. She looks like Grimace. She does look like... Why is she so much bigger? What do you mean? Oh, she's one of the large-sized ones. Oh, she's like the peanut M&M. Well, like the blue and the yellow. They're both also the bigger ones. Peanut, am I right? Sorry, we should get back to the podcast. In this image, why... All the small ones and the big ones are consistently the same height, except the brown M&M. Oh, because of the heels. Gotcha. All right, so... Oh, yeah. I passed out. You passed out. Oh! That you passed out? Yes, he passed out. Okay. The last thing you hear as the blood's rushing to your head and the lack of oxygen or the too much oxygen, the surplus of oxygen is happening, is a voice go... Maybe this one. And with that, you wake up in a lovely bed. Probably far more lovely than anything you've been sleeping on the past couple months. We need to stop for a second. I'm getting, like... Next to you. What's going through Idaho's head? What does Idaho do? Bye. Do you have five seconds? Eight. Please. Do you have five seconds? Eight. Please. I... I can hear you. Okay, good. Reconnected. So, Idaho. Idaho wakes up in a bed feeling still very groggy. It's probably a nicer bed than one that you've been in in maybe a little while. In a well-decorated room full of posh fabrics and silverware. And as you're just kind of, like, opening your eyes, like, when you've woken up and you're not quite sure where you are, you hear a voice that doesn't seem to be from anything that you see go, Hello? Hello, are you awake? Uh... I've opened my eyes. I look in the room. Am I, like, naked? Is my armor on me? Like, what's... You are in a robe. You are in a robe with just a breeze blowing, you know? Just existing, not in your armor. Okay. You know, this doesn't usually happen to him, but, you know, Idaho has been in this position a couple times in military training. So, he kind of looks around, looks in the bed, there's no one else there. Uh... He kind of sits up tentatively. He responds with, like, a... Yes, I'm awake. And he's, like, scanning the room to see if he can find his gear anywhere. Gotcha. So he's looking around. You don't see anything initially. And the voice goes, Yes! Oh, goodness, you're awake! Oh, gosh, we've been waiting, uh... Well, we've been waiting a long time, but that's another thing. You, uh, Idaho, right? Idaho, yeah. Who is this? Oh, nice to meet you. Oh, I'm sorry, you probably can't see me. And you see one of the fabrics on the walls gets pulled off. And draped lightly over what you can assume to be the form of an invisible person. And as the voice goes, I am Sir Clave. It is a pleasure to meet you. Idaho is, like, very unsettled by this. Doesn't like talking to people who we can't see. Oh, but you can see me now! I've got this cloth on! And as they move around, like, you still don't see legs or anything, but the general form of what appears to be humanoid is underneath. Is this moving in, like, a way that's consistent with the humanoid form underneath? Or is it, like... Yes, it is moving in a consistent way. It's not like someone faking by holding up a robe and going, Ooooooh! It could be, but it probably... But they're doing a good job. Yes, they're doing an excellent job. Okay, so, wait, sorry, Sir Clave? Sir Clave. Sir Clave. Um... Nice to meet you. I was just in a portal. How... Where is everyone... Where are my friends? Well, okay, so your friends are not here yet. They will be here in time. Uh, that's a little joke. Oh, you don't get it yet? You will? Um, sorry, it's not really up to me to explain. Well, I'm talking about spices right now. I don't... What's the joke? Spices? I don't understand. What's the joke here? Ha ha, rosemary. Ha ha, yes. Rosemary. So anyways, Master's going to be the one explaining most of this to you. We can cut that joke out. That wasn't funny. That wasn't funny. We'll cut that joke out of the podcast. All right, Christian. Later, Christian. Cut that. Cut that whole last section. And now we can't cut it anymore. Ha ha. All right. So, Master will explain everything. And it's nice to meet you. You see, Serclave, you see kind of sticks out a hand in the cloth. There's a thing forward towards you. I reach out my hand to shake the invisible hand. Do I feel a hand there? You feel like there's something there that when you squeeze the towel, it resists you a little bit, but it squishes a little. And then it shakes with you. Well. Yeah, I don't know how to react to that. I retract my hand, I think, yeah, after shaking it. I've never shaken a hand like yours before. It's so solid and consistent. Have you shaken a hand? What are you? Oh, I am a formless servant. A formless servant. Yes, there's a couple of us around here. I am the eldest. I am therefore the master of the house, and my job is tending to you. I do many tasks, such as clean the laundry, wash the windows, exist in a nonlinear space. That's your tasks? Yes. Okay. What is it that you do? I'm afraid I know nothing more than your name. Someone's got to do that, I guess. Someone's got to, you know, house isn't clean until someone's existing in a nonlinear space. Do you? My name is Idaho. I am, and I look directly at the camera. I am a defender of freedom and what is good. I swore an oath. My robe flutters behind me, you know. How does this know wind in here? It's the power of a paladin oath. That's my duty. I actually exist in a very linear space. Oh, good for you. Looks at camera. I'll tell you more. Looks back at you. We've got many amenities for your stay here. If you need anything, just call good old Sir Clave. Thank you, Sir Clave. It was very nice to meet you. Am I free to go? Oh, yes. Well, the master's in the den, I believe, so yes, you're free to go to the den. Do you know where my effects are? Yes, we are currently washing them. You are washing my... okay. Unfortunately, some of the things did not hold up great against the washing process, but the armor is intact. That is upsetting, but thank you for your honesty. I will... go get it, I guess. Through very gritty piece. I will go get it, I guess. Very cool. You know, there's no insight check you can do, but Sir Clave seems totally unaffected and possibly unable to read your facial expressions in response. Wonderful. I'm happy you're happy. Very happy, yeah. The form leaves the room, opens the door, and just heads on out. Yeah, I'm exploring the place. So if I leave this room, is it clear... is there a clear way to navigate this house? Can I find the den slash the laundry room, I guess? Yeah, well, you can find the den pretty easy, but the laundry room might be a survival check to navigate the house. Well, I'll do that either way, I think, just to see if I can get my grasp on the house. Survival... survival... That is a five. So you find the den. You do find the den. More accurately, you walk into the den. This is a non-linear house. I go back and forth. I find a wall jump at some point, I come back halfway through the game, and yeah, it's a whole... It's... what's the term for three-dimensional... it's non-Gaussian. Euclidean. Non-Euclidean Gaussian. It's a non-Euclidean Gaussian. It's non-Gaussian either. It's a distribution that goes everywhere. It doesn't fit any kind of probabilistic... Sorry, I misspoke. It's actually totally Gaussian, but it's totally non-Euclidean. It follows probability, but it does not make sense to the normal person. Fuck, this is some, like, Hitchhiker's Guide shit. Yeah, I make my way into the den. I go, is this the laundry... oh, no, not the laundry room. And you hear a voice go, Idaho, it's great to finally meet you. And from behind a stack of books, sitting in a chair, you see the face of a... Apparently, like, if he was human, he'd be maybe 60, maybe early 70s. Short gray hair, pinstripe suit, like, all black with bright red lapels. And this dazzling, gleaming smile as he stands up and walks over to you. He's about maybe, like, six feet tall, maybe a little shorter than that. And he extends a hand and goes, I am? And you are. What will be? Does this look rehearsed? Like... Give me an insight check. How many times has this man practiced this in the mirror? I hope that's a nine. That's enough. It looks a little rehearsed. It's, like, timed a little bit, just to the beat. So, yeah, I'll respond to that. I'm definitely picturing, like, President Snow from the Hunger Games kind of hair in my head. Okay, yeah, that kind of vibe. Hair maybe, like, a little bit more specks of gray, but pretty much, yeah. Nice to meet you. What was? And I hold out my hand for a handshake, I guess. Given that that's the trend in this house. He goes, yes? Sorry, please. Where am I? And what have you done with my friends? And also, who are you? And also, what the... Flip-flap. Your audio cut out after you said, what have you done with my friends? Oh, it was just censoring me. Here, okay, how about now? You're good. What have you done with my friends? What the flip-flap is going on? The flip-flopperty-jibbit is happening here. Great questions. And they will be answered, especially your friends. Your friends are not here yet. They will be coming. You can go to them once we're done talking. All good. But I brought you here. That actually wasn't one of my questions. I understand that you brought me here. He walks away for a second. He grabs a cup of tea. Here... Here is what was, is, going to be. But not what won't be. But what will be. It's my... My castle. Can I take psychic damage? Yeah, you take two psychic damage. God, ow, that... I, um... Oh, sorry. That's why this is all a little fast. And he takes the cup of tea that he has in his hand and he goes, give it to you. And he grabs a second one for himself. You take the tea? Yeah, I'll take the tea, I think. Perfect. He dips on his and sits down and gestures for you to have a seat. I will... Wake up slow. Okay. Wake up slow. This is for you. This is what was, but not... Will was... Perhaps... Perhaps let's simplify things. Some people get this faster, some people get it slower. Whatever works. I am what was. This is what will be. Or, you can call this the castle. I'm gonna call this the castle. That makes sense based off what we've just said. Yeah. But we're... How could it be what will be if we're here? It is what it is, right? Okay, pause. Let the dog poop. Good job pooping. The thing is that I have to poop. Thank you, Shelby, for helping the dog poop. So, which of the Teletubbies do you think is a sub and which one's a dom? Oh, boy. I think they're all subs. And I'm the dom. I think the baby in the sky is the dom and they're all subs. Oh, no, the dom is the... The... Oh, my God, the name. The Zerberator. The vacuum. The vacuum, yeah, yeah, yeah. I forgot the name. The vacuum... Uh, Teletubby. Noo-noo. Noo-noo. Noo-noo. Just to agree with what you just said. Have you watched a Teletubbies episode in the last, like, year? I remember you, after Quidditch practice, I think explained that there's, like, seven endings and they all rotate. Was that you? Yeah, that was me. They're so weird. One of them was banned from the TV because it frightened kids too much. Steve reviewed the banned Teletubbies episode. It's so bizarre. It's the lion and the bear. And I think it was just the lighting choices they made for the lion. But, like, holy shit, it's terrifying. Like, the undercut... It's just a very scary lion. Like, the teeth. It has real teeth, essentially. Yeah, and, like, look at that angle. The teeth and the eyes. The glowing eyes and the angle. Ugh, it's unsettling. Oh. Okay, this also came up when I was searching. Okay, so I guess this answers your question, then. Okay, so I guess this answers your question, then. Lala is a dom and poses up. Man, what did the Teletubbies get into? I'm not even done, Wyatt. Oh my god, what the hell? That is unsettling. Ah, he's a goofball. Okay, okay, um... The Teletubbies are gonna stay in my head. Oh. Okay. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. No. Okay. I love you. I love you. Let me just switch my headphones real fast, though. So I can die at some point. I don't know. I'll help you once I find it. All right, I've returned. Hello, returned. I've come. I've come. Welcome. Welcome. I guess welcome is darker when you think about it. What does a well come? Water? I think whales come more than just water. No, not a whale. A well. I guess a well's come would be water, yeah, and the bucket is... No, not a whale. A well. A well, yeah. The bucket is the cock. And with that, let's get back to it. So, just to reiterate. This is... The... Castle. I am... What was. All right, cool. So, now that you have the basic grasp and that you've woken up a little bit, Idaho, what do you want in life? That is a crazy thing to ask someone. I... Okay, so in the immediate future, I want to be back with my friends. I want to have gone with the portals where they are going to go. In the more far-fetched future, I guess, you know, I'm a paladin. I've sworn my oath. I follow a few tenets with, you know, with devotion, I guess you might say. I... I care a lot about a few things, and I want to bring some good to the world. Some freedom. Noble. A noble pursuit. I have nothing but respect for that. Thank you. Half the honesty, double the courage. Idaho, I can grant that short-term wish. I can't grant it immediately, but I can make sure that it comes to pass. That you will be reunited with your friends. But there are things going on in this world, Idaho, that you haven't the faintest of. There are things that I haven't the faintest of. And those long-term wishes, what you call the distant future, the truth is all the future is the same. You just have to act to make it happen as quick as possible. All the future is the same? What does that mean? Idaho, you're a paladin, you said, correct? Yeah, I'm a paladin. What god do you worship? I, uh... I don't think I worship a god. I've sworn my oath. I have my tenets. The oath of freedom. And my power comes from that. One might say I'm currently in between gods, you know? I'm window shopping a little bit, you know? I'm window shopping for a god. That sounds like an indie movie. Like it's such a tip film festival. It's a woman who's trying to restore her faith and figure out what she believes in and it turns out what she believed in was herself all along. It would be like a Christian Christmas movie too, right? All right. He goes, Idaho, there is stuff you should know. You see, a long time ago there was a war. And this war killed so, so many. This was a war for the present. For your life. For the lives of your friends. And many of us fought on the side of you, including myself. Most of the gods, in fact. We were up against the most powerful force there ever was. What came from me. The future. You see, the future was fixed for us. She wove it together. That was her job. She created a timeline. A focused stream of what would happen. But, by creating this one timeline, she sealed everyone's fate. Do you believe, Idaho, that you're on this place to do good? Yeah. Sorry, are you a god? Oh, I'm sorry. I'm the god of the past. Oh, that you were this which was. Okay, I see it. Yeah, I feel like I'm here to do good. Sorry, should I get out of my chair and adjust to be like my posture and like, oh shit. You know, it's like you adjust your robe, I cover my that which is swinging. Cover it up as best you can across your way. Yeah, I'm here to do good. I'm here for duty. I'm here for honor. Courage and freedom. All those things that are good. You're here for the things that are good. You are here to do good. Now what if I told you that wasn't up to you, whether or not you would do good? What if I told you it was up to someone else? Well, then it wouldn't be very good. Would it? Correct. It would. If I forced you to feed a child by threatening to kill your family, are you doing good, or are you just trying to save your family? Which might be good in and of itself, but is the act that you're performing of feeding the poor, is that actually good because it's my idea, or is it good because you did it, because you made the choice to do it? Well, there isn't really it's not really, you can't really choose to be good unless you could also choose to be evil. I don't really think that I would be doing good at all in that situation. And would you choose to be evil? No. I would choose to be good every time. This war that was fought, many died before eventually future decided to give up. So many had died trying to win, Henshul. So many that came from me because I'm the past, you are all my children. You all come from me. I know who you were. I helped shape and form you. The thoughts in your mind are often thoughts of me. So we built a prison. A prison to hold the future. But you see, the future still exists, and it still exists as she wrote it. I know. Do you want to do good? Yeah, that's the whole point of why I'm here, I think. Then wouldn't it be good if you had a choice? Otherwise, you're not doing good. You're just being whatever she made you to be. Okay. I think I see where you're coming from. I'm picking up what you're putting down here. Here, I have a question. Please. Let me just, I want to say this back to you, so make sure I get this. You're saying that the goddess of the future is alive and she is making us, she chooses what we do. There's no free will. She has laid out the path, and she is here, locked away, unable to change the path. The path has been laid, preventing you from having free will. How... But it's how can I then and you're saying that if I not release her, I'm assuming, stop this path, then that will free up the future, so to speak? Yes. My child, the only way to free up the future is to stop the path. Okay. My child, think of when you were but a young child yourself. A kid. Do you have all of these possible futures that you could reach? Remember that feeling where you could do anything and you could become anyone? Remember feeling like you chose that? Yeah, you're saying that was all a lie. No, I'm saying I gave all that potential to you. I created all of these options that you could feel like you could do, but now in the present you do not have that choice. Where you are now, you are forced to go in a straight line. Okay. Here's my problem. How am I supposed to do... How am I supposed to free our futures if that is me taking an action that I assume has been chosen by the person who doesn't want us to free our futures? Because, my child, you are here in the forest. The jail cell made for the future. The one place where she does not control the time. You are in the one place where we can eliminate the future and recreate it through an infinite potential spring. Okay. That... When your voice dropped just now, that raised a few red flags for me. That was an evil sound in speech. Now listen, I'm with you. I think that people can't... You know, I think that removing our freedom to choose removes the point I think that we can't have goodness without freedom. I think that it ruins the whole point of things being good if, you know, we didn't have the freedom to make them good. You know, there's... The world is dark, but, you know, the point of the light is that we're shining it. I think that, generally speaking, in all of the stories I've heard, when people tell you to, hey, go kill a god, that is not a good... That's a bad idea. So I guess what I'm asking is, how do you know that there aren't major consequences to killing the future? Because I created her. Because she is for me. Because we're in the future. I misspoke when I said eliminating. We must eliminate the chosen future and replace it with infinite potential. The ability for anyone to become anything, that is what must be done. Okay. It is not her I am asking you to kill. It is the timeline she is creating. Okay. I'm listening. That makes more sense to me. And if we destroy this timeline, we can bring the choice back to everyone here. And it is with this that we can do that together. And he reaches inside of himself, like, into his stomach, which kind of turns into, like, some sort of portal or something, unclear. But as he pulls out his hand from his black jacket, he pulls out fire, living fire. And it just kind of jumbles around in his hand, bounces around a little bit, and he says, this is what we must use. When we put this on the timeline, it will burn it away, heating it up and leaving behind infinite potential. And this is what I will give to you, my child. I kind of start to reach out my hand towards the fire, and I kind of stop, like, a foot away, and kind of go, how... It feels warm. How do I know what you're saying is true and I'm not being tricked by some evil god of fire here? Stay here with me. Your friends are not here. I was able to bring you to the past, but I was not able to bring everyone. My power is not what it is in a place with far more history. My power here is limitless. But I... But in the past, this is what was. This is what... I am what was. This is what will be. You are what is. I take two more seconds. He's still holding out the fire as he's explaining all this. You see this frustration on his face as he's explained this to multiple times. I think... I think where I deal with that with this is he... What he... What was. What was is saying is theoretically very good. Idaho is an Oath of Freedom paladin. Freedom is very, very important. Freedom of choice. There's not really a whole lot of... Idaho really thinks that things can't be good unless you have the choice to make them good. If no one has a choice in anything, then all that is is the gods are kind of telling a story with you as the pawns. He kind of agrees with the points he's saying. A lot of red flags here, I think, for Idaho. Does Idaho want to make an insight check? Yeah. I think we'll make an insight check. I think that before making the insight check, the one question that Idaho wants to ask is given this is a... This god is presenting himself as somewhat aligned with Idaho's convictions of freedom of choice and so on. If I take this fire and then I choose to let it go in the future, is that going to kill me if I choose to not do what you're asking me to do? If you eat it, maybe. But in general, no, it shouldn't kill you if you don't do it. It will just leave you on the same path that you've always been on. And if that is fine with you, then that is your choice. You're not finding me to do this. I don't find anyone to do anything. I create opportunity. That is who I am. I do not force people to be what I want them to be. Okay, that's a good answer. I'm going to roll the digit. That would be an 11. Okay, so it's an 11. Tell me what is the god thinking with my 11. You know, the god has told you everything that the god has told you. And I think you're keen on some red flags, but there are causes you don't know and you don't really get that with an 11. Yeah, I think that where I'm at, or where Idaho is at with this, is like, he's kind of thinking that like, there are red flags for sure, but if he's being presented with the freedom of choice to do this how he wants to do this, and he's not being like, I think Idaho is a lot more concerned about like, being tricked into oh, and now you have to destroy the world or you have to now sell your soul or anything like that. Yeah, with an 11, I think more specifically what you get is, you get the sense that his and also based off the last sentence he said, his intentions are what he's clarified. Like, he is being honest that he wants potential and freedom. Being honest and also like not just in his words, but in the intent. He's not like trying to fate trap me here. Maybe not even in the words, but specifically in the intent. You get what his purpose is. Right. I think that I feel pretty good about that. So I think that Idaho especially if he's not being like roped into anything by doing this, there's nothing that can be wrong with. There's no like downside to analyzing himself here, I think. So he kind of tentatively reaches out to take the fire. The fire kind of like jumps from his hand to yours as your hand is out, and it feels warm and comfortable. I'm getting big Calcifer from House of Me Castle vibes here. And then I do piss myself. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I like Calcifer. Oh, he's cute. I like that, but far more like little parts that are like bouncing around. More like the dust sprites, but fine. I like that. I think I have, like you said, I feel like I pissed myself. Oh, I pissed myself. Oh, God, the temporal shit. Holy shit. That's not what I meant. I have a question. Surely there's a better appraisal than a forest for a goddess of the future. A forest that we just walked into. There is none. And while I respect your inquiry, I doubt it would be easy to explain why a forest, why a place full of light and the presence of such a good place. Okay. I've had to, you know, arrest people too. So maybe we can make this, you know, with metal bars. That would be good as well. We can work on that. Okay, yeah. Combine our strengths. You know, you can do your forest time stuff and I'll have like a physical metal bars. Alright. Now, there's one more thing that I must present you. Okay. Immediately guard back up. I think Idaho's so scared of being like fate-trapped here or like deal with the devil here. He usually is throwing them off, I think. He reaches over and pulls out a small knapsack and then gives you the knapsack. I take the knapsack. It's a powerful relic. I pee myself again. For a different reason. This knapsack, as you call it, will let you pull something from the past. It only can be used three times before it will stop working. This is a magic item. This is a magical artifact. So this lets me pull an item from the past. Okay. This is more of a Wyatt question than an Idaho question, I think. Do I have to put the thing back to avoid any kind of like time loop shit? No. Okay, so it's almost like cloning something from the past. I'm just trying to understand it a little bit. I don't have to understand the mystery of time for this item. Here's what Christian will say is that if you see something that you think you might want in the future, ever, let me know and we'll have it go missing. Okay, I think that's very fun. And we'll deal with what happens when it happens. Just let me know what you want to happen. And the earlier you let me know, you're like, Oh, that's cool. I might want that later. We can cut this out right now. But what we could do is if I see the sword of Big Sword, it goes missing. And then in the future, we can have a moment where you realize why did it go missing? And then you pull it out of the like Neville Longbottom. Yes, exactly like Neville Longbottom. That could be fun. So to the same extent, you can kind of make something go missing whenever you want it to. Yeah, interesting. So just stuff to think on. That, Nathak, has great power. And I trust you. You, in this case, will be my champion. A little bit of my power will go with you to assist you. There's not much I can do in this one. Okay. I guess I'm going to go free the future. Go free the future. One last warning. Talking of me may upset some people. So mention me as you wish, but know that it may not be the best in every instance to refer to me. Like the uncle that you don't want people to know about, but that is there. Don't mention me all the time, but you do not need to lie on my behalf. Yeah. I'm not an open devotion paladin. I can't lie, but I also don't have to, you know, have the honor to double the courage. Freedom is more important than Yeah, I get you. I get you. But maybe, you know, I'll swing everyone around to your way of thinking, and then we can see how it goes. I think courage is what we need right now, more than honesty. Good luck, my child. Red flag for Wyatt. Green flag all the way for Idaho there. Yeah, courage. That is what we need. Okay, can I go see my friends now? Um, well, bad news is that you're going to have to wait a little bit, but then yes. Can I have my stuff back? Yeah. Oh, but it's broken, right? I start to open the backpack. Okay, wait, wait, wait. We have all the armor and the bags, but the clothes you had first. Oh, okay. But all my valuables are still... Those are all still there. Everything normal is still there. I close the bag slowly. Perfect. Yeah, so over the next little while, you do find your way to the laundry room. You get your armor back. All your stuff is there. They supply you with some, like, nice-ish clothing. We can talk later about what that looks like. Yeah. Maybe we change that. Maybe we don't. I don't know. Long story short, you end up spending about a week in this castle. You get to explore it while you're doing this. It's full of books and old books and drawings and maps. And it is, again, not nonlinear, non-Euclidean in its design. It feels like it was built before any rules were established about time and structure and space. So some rooms are giant and some are tiny. Some hallways have no doors. One time you find yourself in a room that's just full of mirrors to the point where you forget how to leave it for about 24 hours before somebody comes and lets you out. Classic mirror room. Classic mirror room. But the food is meat. You eat the meat. And after a week, you meet back up with the god again. And he goes, All right, Idaho. I can send you forward to just a little bit before your friends show up. Are we all showing up here, then? Not here. You will be in the forest. I may exist in the forest technically, but the way to get to me is incredibly complicated. You will find that out as you exist in the forest for a little bit. But there are pathways in and out and around the forest, but not ones that a god could go through, but ones such as yourself, or perhaps even smaller, like a squirrel could go through. Or a stoat. A stoat? What's a stoat? Never mind. Christian was really worried you were going to say stoat these nuts or something. I almost said nothing much. What's a stoat with you? What an a stoat observation. Oh, okay. Hey, Christian, you can have inspiration for them. Oh, thank you. I get inspiration. He goes, All right, my child. Good luck. I will not be able to help you much once you are gone, but I believe in you. Hopefully I'll see you in the free future. Or not. I don't know. I'll go through the thing. Don't worry about it too much. No rush. I feel the migraine coming back on, so I'm not going to try. Perfect. I have patience. I implore you to do the same, Idaho. All right. And with that, you feel your body going back to that hypersonic speed immediately. And you find yourself on the grass outside of a bunch of trees. There's what appeared to be an altar at some point. And you can presume this will be where your friends will show up. What do you do in preparation for them to show up? Okay, so immediate problems are closed. I think that I am going to I think I'm going to don my armor. Okay, so you just put on your armor so that that's the main thing covering. I don't think I need to do much else. I have a sack of stuff. I can put the backpack in there pretty comfortably. Is this fire just floating in my fucking hand? Yeah, but it can easily go in something. Okay. And it's not like burning shit that it touches, right? It's like a magical fire? Yeah, it's a magical fire. It's designed with a specific purpose. I think that I put it in a jar like a fairy. Gotcha. Yeah, it's bouncing around. I put that in a backpack. But I cushion it with clothes. With some of these fancy clothes to not have it break. Gotcha. And the knapsack also goes in there. Okay. And so when they show up through the portal, how do you plan on being? Are you going to be lying there with them? Unconscious? Are you going to be standing there? I think I want to be putting on my armor still at that point. So I've left a couple of straps and shit. Because putting on armor is a big thing. So I've left some straps and stuff. Okay. Then the only thing that we have left to do I think that kind of wraps everything up. During that week while you were in the castle roaming around doing anything you wanted to do, would you have talked to the god or Sir Clave at all? I don't think I would have done any more. I think I would have been trying to solve the mysteries of the area I'm in. Okay. Can I just do an investigation check? And then that will be the conclusion. Ooh! That's a natural 20 minus 1. Natural 20's a natural 20! Do I understand the secrets of time? You found as you were exploring this area two things of importance. One, you found a window. There's a window that he sat by and you almost didn't find any other windows the entire time you were here. But you found one other window that looked out and outside of this onyx castle behemoth structure on top of a mountain surrounded by a moat of lava you saw almost an eternal darkness never expanding outward but through this window you saw a little gap in that darkness like a place, a way to get in and out. And on your natural gosh dang 20 you were able to explore your way down towards that gap in leaving the castle and going to the mountain then? Yes. Okay. And while it looked like a treacherous path it looked to get out and you saw sunlight on the other side. Like down the path was like this treacherous kind of windy but not too windy route so that you could still see to the other side and the other side there were brambles covering it and you saw peaks of sunlight. Okay. Feels like if I go through this I'm not coming back and I don't want to do that. I have rope. I would be interested in seeing if I could fling out that rope and tie it to something where I'm at and is it going to get immediately severed if I leave here? Can I pull myself back in? Do you know what I mean? Yeah, you lay out the rope. It doesn't get immediately severed. It just kind of exists where you left it. Can I peek out? Yeah. I misspoke. It's an incredibly treacherous path because the ground gives way sometimes. It's probably like a couple hundred meters long. You could walk along this path but you have no idea what would happen if the ground gave way underneath you or if you were jumping over these large pits. Oh, gotcha. Sorry, that was my bad. I understand now. Basically I'm interested in I don't want to fall in the time hole. Would I be able to throw something through? Not to the brambles. Okay. You'd be able to throw something probably onto one of the solid or areas that would stay there probably. But I wouldn't be able to tie a rope to the other side to climb over and I can't get anything to the brambles. I'm just trying to get through the way where if I saw this thing on the other side I could recognize it. I'm going to go through my spells for a second. Can I lay on hands to get across? Ah, no. You don't have a bow, do you? I don't think I would have a bow. I'd have like a hand axe or something but it would still be a throne. You'd need at least a short bow. I don't have mage hand, I don't have anything like that. Unfortunately I think there is no way that you can come up with that you could mark it. I don't think there is, but there is something here. Which is good to know. And then I'll go back now that I have this knowledge. And then you head back in now able to basically fully navigate the space just maybe a couple hours before he comes to you and says Hey, I'm back. And with that, Wyatt, we end the session. Nice. Cool, cool, cool. I'll stop recording. Yeah, upload that and send it to me.
