Hey guys, welcome back to College Knockoffs with Brie and Hannah. I'm Brie, this is Hannah. Hi guys. This is episode 9. One more, double digits, let's go. Dang. Exciting. I can't believe we've already recorded, well, this will be 9, but still, that's crazy. That is crazy. It feels like longer, honestly, to me. Yeah, kind of longer. I feel like we've missed a week, this week. But we didn't, we didn't. No, we didn't. It's just, we did it early last week and now we're doing it later. Later, yeah. So it just felt like a long time has gone past. Well, speaking of weeks, how was your week? My week has been good. It basically consists of trying to wedding plan. That's basically it. I, even at work, yeah, sorry, boss. I barely done anything. I've just been looking on my phone, trying to find places, trying to find things. Also, like watching videos on how to have a wedding on a budget. Yeah. Yeah. I don't love you. I would do the same thing if I was engaged. Yeah. So. How was your week? Oh, my gosh. Long. Honestly. Long? Yeah. Crazy to get to school? It wasn't, the kids just like have spring fever really bad. And need to go outside and play. And it sucks because it's always cold on the weekend. So they don't go outside and play. And then they come to school and it's warm and they want to go outside. And they're crazy. Yeah. So their behaviors have just kind of been off the charts and a little rough. But what, three more weeks of school? Three, that's it? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, shoot. I need to look to see how many more weeks. But, yeah, this week they're doing testing at my school. Yeah, they started testing at our school this week. And I feel like that's also made them way crazier because when they come and see me, it's like they've been sitting doing testing all day long and then they're just crazy monkeys. Yeah. I don't, luckily, I luckily don't have to deal with testing because they don't do that until third grade. But even these second graders are being pretty wax. Oh, man. And we started, my kids finished their phonics curriculum, which is like when they learn how to spell. And it's like their spelling words and stuff. And so I was like, well, I don't want to, like, I don't want to just, like, not do anything for the rest of the school year. And so I decided we would just, like, work on our sight words. And I tried to be fun with it and not just give them worksheets to learn their sight words. And we played a new game every day. Oh. Yeah. Fun. We did a, let's see, we did a word heart and then they did bingo and memory match. And they did hopscotch. And it amazed me how many kids did not know how to hopscotch. They're like, I don't get it. And I'm like, you hop on one foot and then you hop on two feet and then you hop on one foot. Like, that's all you do. And it's like, I don't understand. And then Friday we did a spelling bee. And I was impressed. They did really, really well on their spelling bee. Yeah. I was, I picked, I had like a first, second and third place winner and they got to eat lunch with me that day. Oh, yeah, they were excited. But it wasn't, it wasn't bad, it wasn't a bad week. It was just long and kind of crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Tiny weeks. I'm just kind of needing a nap, honestly. Yeah, I get that. Yeah. Okay, guys, so this is the episode we said that you would be super excited for and wouldn't want to miss. Okay. And so we hope you're going to be excited when you hear what we're going to talk about. I'm excited. But we're going to give you some tips for a healthy summer. Healthy-ish summer. Healthy-ish summer. I did healthy ones. Hannah told me hers and I was like, oh. Okay, maybe it's, one of them is like a conspiracy, okay? Oh, okay. Well, let's get into it then. Go ahead. Okay. My first one, I'm so excited, is do not wear sunscreens. I think it's a scam. I will get skin cancer if I don't wear sunscreen. Okay. Okay, hear me out. Okay. Did Noah wear sunscreen when he was building the ark outside in the desert? Probably not. Did Jesus? Probably not. I mean, why do we have to wear sunscreen now? What if they had different remedies they used? Like aloe? Maybe. I don't know. But, like, we don't know that. So maybe they were using stuff that was like sunscreen. I'd be okay with rubbing aloe. But, like, all these sunscreens, they just, wasn't it, I feel like when I was in high school, that people were, like, not wearing regular sunscreen, and they were trying to go organic because they were like, there's so many chemicals in this. It's so bad for you. But now we're back on the trend of, like, wear sunscreen. Put a hat on. Don't let your kids have swimsuits that don't show their arms and legs. Like, I don't know. I feel like, I feel like it would be a shame. On the do not wear sunscreen trend. Like, I have to wear sunscreen. Look at my face right now. I mean, I know. I say this as I'm looking at your sunburned face. Yeah. And it was cold today. It was like 55 degrees. And there was an overcast with clouds. Like, it wasn't super bright, super sunny. And I'm still sunburned. Okay. Yeah. If you're like Brie, put on something on that's natural. Put aloe on. I don't know if that'll help. Aloe's more of a burn relief, though, not... I don't know. There has to be something. There has to be something. Now that you say that, there had to be something that they rubbed on themselves. Yeah. I don't know what it would be, but... Oil? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe we should look into that. Maybe we should. But if you're like me, I'm not going to be wearing it. There will be days that I don't. But, like, if I'm in a t-shirt, probably not. I don't care if my... Like, my arms don't actually get super sunburned anymore. Yeah. So, like, if I'm in a swimsuit, I have to wear sunscreen. Because I will burn to a crisp. Yeah. Yeah. Also, you were out there for a long time today. I was. True. Like, if you're just going to be out there for one, two, three hours, you're fine. It depends on the UV index also, though, and how hot it is. Okay, what's yours? I'm blazing. Okay, my first one. See, I did... I geared more towards, like, actual healthy. Okay. So, my first one. This is something that I've actually been doing because of, like, my health issues, but balancing my cortisol levels. And by, like, doing that, you have to, like, eat whole foods, get plenty of sunlight or your sunscreen, get plenty of sleep, and find some good, like, stress relievers. I did a really good job of this when I first started doing this stuff, but I wouldn't watch TV two hours before I went to bed. And I would only have my lamp on, and I'd wear my blue light glasses, and I'd read because that blue UV light, or I don't remember, something like that. That's what they call it. Yeah. It, like, gets your brain ready to go into sleep mode. Yeah. And I noticed a huge difference when I would go to sleep at, like, 8 p.m. Like, I would read for, like, an hour and a half from 6.30 to 8, because I would eat at, like, 6. And I'd read until 8, and then I'd go to sleep. Yeah. And then I'd wake up at, like, 5.30, 6. Totally refreshed and, like, actually awake. And nights that I would lay in my bed and watch TV until 10 p.m., and then I would notice I couldn't fall asleep as fast if I watched TV before bed. Then I would be super exhausted the next day. So it makes a big difference for me, at least. Yeah. But, yeah, and eating whole foods makes me feel a lot better. Yeah, I agree. And sunlight has always made me feel better. Like, you just need some vitamin D on your skin. Yeah. That's my first one. Nice. What you got? Let me look at my second one. Okay. Okay. It is to go swimming and get your hair wet. You know, like, sometimes there's times where, like, you don't want to get your hair wet, don't want to wash your hair. Do it. I've never been that way. I've always been getting my hair wet. Oh, yeah. Like, why would you get in a pool and not go under? I mean, I've never – I've just seen girls do that. Unless I'm in a lake. Then I'm like, oh, I don't want to put my face down there. Yeah, when I was at the lake, I really tried not to go underwater. Yeah. But that's the lake. But in a swimming pool, I don't care. And I'm adding something. Okay. Get goggles and put them on. Get goggles. I always try to stick with someone's goggles. I'm like, can I wear your goggles? No, even better. That's sad, but I have to steal my sibling's. Get the goggles with the nose thing. No, I do, because I cannot swim. Like, I can't hold my breath to not have anything on my nose. The nose thing is the only way I can do flips. And – Yeah. Yeah. So, I want – I need a bias on, now that I think about it. Yeah, me too. Me too. That makes me so excited for summer. Yeah. I'm kind of hoping – Brookie, if you're listening to this, I'm kind of hoping she gets a pool so I can go swimming around. That'd be fun. Yeah. Oh, I'm so excited. Oh, yeah. I don't really have anywhere to swim, which is kind of sucky. I have to go to Grandma's, although in Bernice, if I want to swim. And, yeah. Anyways, moving on. My next one is – which you kind of said this, too, with the swimming thing, but moving your body. Just – Yeah. Go outside, move your body, get some exercise. It'll make you feel better. Work out outside. Yeah, you don't even have to – I mean, yes, I know you will work out outside, but you don't even have to, like, do a full on workout. Just, you know, go for a walk or go swimming or – just move your body. Play with the dog. Play with the dog. Yeah. Play with the dog. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's good. I just realized my other one was the same as yours. Move your body? Well, the foods. Oh, the foods, yeah. I'll just go to my next one. Okay. I – what? Did you say something? I said okay. Oh, sorry. Sorry, I'm in between, like, switching slides. Okay. Stay – I put stay up later. And, like, I – okay. Right now I'm staying up too late that I need to go to bed earlier right now. But I feel like last summer I went to bed super early, like, before it even got dark out. And I'm like, I should probably stay up later and enjoy the time that it's still light up. Yeah. That's my one. Yeah. I will stay up later once summer school's over. Because I'm not – like, I got to make it to the end of June, and then July I can stay up late. Yeah. So. Gotcha. There we go. Let's see. My next one. Make sure you keep cool. Yeah. Keep cool. Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated. Don't overheat yourself. That's no fun. Yeah. I guess it is hot in Oklahoma. It gets really hot here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No bueno. Do you have any more? Drink water. No. Okay. I have one more. What's your last one? Have fun and go on some adventures. I – Woo-hoo! I understand that we need to save money and, you know, be grown adults. Yeah. But I'm also big on, you know, just, like, take a small little trip. Go have fun. We're young. Like, we don't need to just go to work and then go home. Yeah, that's a bad habit. I definitely do that. We do. I get it. We're adults, but we're also young adults that, you know, we – we're not held down by anything yet. We need to go have some fun. That's so true. Yeah. I mean, even though you're going to be hitched soon, you and Trevor can still go have some fun somewhere. No. Oh, yes. But – oh, my gosh. Yeah. Yeah. So that means you have to come here though. No. That won't be good. Okay. You need to come hang out with me. I'll come on an adventure. Yeah. No, that's true. I do definitely just come home after working, and then I eat, I take a shower, I feed the dog, and I go to bed. Yeah. Like, I – I need to play with Bria more. I need to play with my dog more. Yeah. I need to play with my dog more too, honestly. Or Cletus. Or Cletus. No, I've always been kind of big on that. Like, have some fun before you get married and have some kids. Yeah. Not that you can't have fun with your kids, but, you know. Yeah. Once you have kids, it's different. So we're told. Well, I know from experience just because my siblings are so young. Yeah. But anyways. Yeah. I love them. Yeah. But I get it. At the same time. So those are your tips for a healthy summer. Yeah. We hope you use them. And tell us your – Yeah. Tell us if you have any tips for a healthy summer. Maybe you have some that we need. It's – we could use some too, so. What? Yeah, I agree. I agree. You just had utter shock on your face. We just had a microphone. That's what happened to me a while ago. It went out. Technical difficulties, guys. Okay. When we ordered these on Amazon, they were said to be the best. And I don't know about that now. Every time I plug it in, it doesn't immediately come on, and I have to mess with the cord a little bit before it does. And I'm like, that's not good. No. No. These were kind of expensive. Yeah, they were. So, gosh. Okay, you ready to share our scripture for the week? Yeah. What's yours? You go first. Okay. Oh, that's not right. Isaiah 2, I feel a lot better. So, I told you about that commentary book that my grandma had. Yeah. That I used. I ordered it, and I used it. Oh, nice. So, I feel really good about it. I'm going to share just, like, my notes. And then there was something in the commentary book that I really, really liked and wanted to share. So, I read Isaiah 2, and it talks about the last days, but it's referring to, like, Israel and when Jesus comes. Those are the last days that it's talking about. And it says, in the last day, in the last days, the Lord's house will be the highest of all. Everyone will go there to worship. He will mediate nations, and there will no longer be war. Verse 5 says, walk in the light of the Lord, meaning we should walk in the light of the Lord, because he is the only way of peace, which I really like that part. And then I put up a star. And this came out of the commentary book because it was talking about, like, when people go there to worship. And then it was kind of referring to when it will actually be the last days when the rapture comes. Yeah. The church will be removed from the world at the time of the rapture. Yes. And so, I mean, I wasn't sure, because that's literally all it said. And then I was like, okay, but what about it? Like, no, I guess we don't know how it will be removed, right? We don't know how. No, and yeah, and they didn't say either. But I was just like, okay, so church will be removed from the world. It's okay. You ever think about if the rapture comes and then if you're driving in a car on a highway? Yeah. Like, how does that work? Like, do people just disappear and cars go flying and then won't a lot of people die then? I don't know. That's just wild. Or the car just goes to its destination with nobody in it. Maybe. Oh, that would be wild. That's a crazy thought. That's a really crazy thought. Oh, gosh. Okay, verses 6 and 9, talking about Judah, and they're really bad, and they incorporated their own religions like Assyria and Babylon, and they're worshipping creatures instead of the Creator. Oh. And so this is really just, I mean, kind of like Isaiah 1, that I talked about last time, just about how they are turning away from the Lord and worshipping worldly things. Okay, let's see. I put it? Okay, this is the page. Okay, let's see. Okay. Oh, I got to remove this sticky note. Okay, so in verses 13 to 18, it breaks it down into each verse and says what, like, it says from the Bible and then breaks it down to what it actually means. And so 2.13 says, And then the commentary is, And then 2.15, And upon all the ships of Tarshish, that's an interesting name, Sorry, that was 17. Commentary is, And so it was just talking about everything that he's going to do in those last days. And there was this part in the commentary talking about what you see on television today, and it's so full of politics and government and, like, the religion that people are focusing on. And it says, like, he's left out. We don't talk about God. Nobody does. Like, nobody that's higher up that should does. Yeah. And I was just like, that's, I mean, what you see on television today, and it's so full of politics and government and, like, And I was just like, that's, I mean, we, those believers, like, we believers know that that's true, that he's not talked about like he should be. But I was just like, how do we, how do you change that? And there was this one paragraph that says, Oh, sorry. Dang, that's good. And I was just, yeah, I was, like, super moved by this whole commentary that they had, because I was like, yeah. They, they did this commentary that does a really good job about, like, actually telling you what they're really talking about, and then how you can compare it to today. Sorry. Yeah. Anyone interested? I don't know if he does any more books, because when I looked it up, it literally just brought up the books of Isaiah, or the book of Isaiah, but he has two books because Isaiah is so long. It's called Through the Bible Commentary Series by J. Vernon McGee. For any of you interested. Nice. I'll post a picture of it on Instagram so you guys can see it. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah. Okay, what did you read this week? Dang, it did not compare to that at all. Okay, well, still a mark. Mark six. Today, I actually took this pretty literal. So, it was when Jesus sends out the twelve, and he's saying, he's telling them, take nothing for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in your belt. Wear sandals, but not an extra tunic. Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town, and if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet, and when you leave, add a testimony against them. So, the don't take an extra tunic really motivated me today, and I purged my closet. Oh, my gosh. I read that, and I was like, well, I mean, I'm going to be moving out soon anyway. Yeah. So, I have clothes I haven't worn in years. Yeah. And even when you came the last time, you were like, where's your clothes? Yeah. And I purged before that. Now, I purged again. You don't have, like, any clothes when I come up there next time. And you know what? As it should be, because I don't wear them. And so, yeah, I'm really just like, I don't need extra things. Yeah. I, yeah, I'm trying to get that mindset. I should really purge my clothes. You want to just see my – I'll just show you my room right now. Okay. This is my bed. There's that rack you gave me. Yeah. The laundry basket is clean. The pile of clothes is dirty. And then there's that dresser over there that's literally full. Like, my drawer is barely shut. And then there's the closet. And then I have clothes in the spare bedroom closet. Dang. Maybe I should come there and purge for you. You should come purge for me. I just, like, I'm not the type of person where I'm like, well, what if I need it? Like, I could wear this to one specific event, and what if that event happens, and then I don't have it anymore? You just go buy another one. Or I could just keep it and not finish it. No, but you're going to want to go buy something, though. I know. I have a lot of stuff, yeah, I need to get rid of. Maybe you should come down here on that weekend and help me purge. Yeah, for real. Maybe I should. And, oh, there's those, like, bins that go in cubed shelves. Yeah. Four of them in the top of my closet. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I get that. Literally, I was like that, though. And even moving, like, moving house to house with my parents, like, I had so much crap for just the room I had. Yeah. And I'm trying to dwindle it now. And, yeah, so I'm almost there. Almost. That's good. I'm not. So that was my encouragement. If you need to purge, just purge. Yeah, maybe that should be a healthy summer tip, purge your closet. Oh, yeah, purge. Yeah. You don't have to wear much clothes in the summer anyways. Just remember, though, that summer's not forever, and you will still need your winter clothes. But if you didn't wear it this winter, you're not going to wear it next winter. That's true. Here's my thing, is that I have teacher clothes, and then I have, like, personal clothes. Yeah. That's a big thing for me. And I've tried to be really good about buying things that I can wear for both. But it's really hard because not that I dress inappropriately when I'm, like, on my personal time or whatever, but, like, teacher's clothes have to be so modest. Yeah. And it makes it kind of hard. That, with me, is, like, I have – I don't even have cute workout clothes. I have bump clothes. Yeah. Like, yeah. Yeah. So I go to the school, I wear bump clothes. I go to work, I wear bump clothes. I go to church, and I'm like, what's to wear? Can't wear my bump clothes to church. I mean, you could. I had a friend that did that. I mean, other than that, like, clothes that I would wear to, like, when I worked in an office. Or, like, I don't need those clothes anymore. Yeah. That's true. I get that. Yeah. Oh, gosh. Well, episode nine is complete. Episode nine. Complete. Way to go. We did it. We're glad you listened. Yeah. Next week's going to be fun. Oh, yeah. We're excited. Episode ten, we're going to do something fun. We're going to do some Would You Rather questions. Yep. Just some. It's going to be kind of all over the place. Yeah. So it'll be a good one to listen to. Don't miss it. And make sure you tell your friends that you're going to listen to it and that they should, too. Yeah. Yeah. If you made it through this one, come back next year. Yeah. It'll be so fun. It'll be funny. And, yeah. Oh, I can already imagine just the answers we're going to have. Yeah. Oh, gosh. It'll be a good time, guys. Don't miss it. It will. So thanks for listening to College Knockoffs with Bray and Hannah. We will see you next time. Adios. Deuces, guys.
