The speakers are discussing their fantasy rugby league teams and their strategies for the upcoming games. They talk about potential trades, player injuries, and the performance of their respective teams. They also mention their best and worst trades so far this season. All right, welcome back to Episode 2 of the Breakeven Podcast. I'm Jamal and with me is Will, Adam and Louie and today we've got special guests Seb and Tom on the cast. Welcome, lads. G'day, guys. G'day, boys. Big week here. Yeah, it's a big one. All right, should we start with the first question then? We'll give you a chance to answer separately so there's no talking over. We'll start with you, Seb. So why do you think your team is better and what is your opponent's biggest weakness this week? Well, it's plain and simple. It's plain and simple this week. There's a big man coming in. I banked a lot of cash last week. Go theory down to D Brown. So I had some cash to play with this week and I've moved on a couple, I'd say inconsistent performance into a quality, quality gun. The best available at the moment after the news. Boys, the news. Hang string. So any theory holders out there? Geez, boys, apologies. We've got a couple in the group, don't we? Oh, just... No, you're not. You're not. You're not. You're not, are you? He's coming back close to Origen as well, maybe Brewster. That's why Nico Hines was the play. Plain and simple. Cash down to another half and then off to Nico Hines you go. Did you go Cleary to Hines? I think if you've held Cleary for this long, you have to just stay at it. But if he holds Zay, you're getting close to pretty much Origen anyway when you get rid of him. That's true. But then when you look at the New South Wales team, do they put Moses in at six after coming back one round before the first Origen game? I don't think they do. So therefore I think Hines slots into six. I don't really see who else plays six for the Blues. Jerome! Jerome! Jerome! Jerome! Jerome! Jerome! They're not going to slot Hines in over Luai, I don't think. I think if Luai gets injured, then Hines goes in. I forgot about Luai actually. I think Luai's got that six jersey from Moses. Six and seven. But it's not, isn't it new coaches here? He's a form. He's a form. Isn't it McGuire? He's a form coach. He picks on form. He's not going to go back to someone who clearly isn't in the palm of the hand I think, so it'll be interesting. Yeah, that's fair. What do you think is his biggest weakness? His biggest weakness? Yeah. I think at the moment, I look through his team and I'll be honest with him, he's good at copying Jamie. He's got the tongue. He's got the tongue. He knows how to look at what Jamie's doing and do a similar thing. And I respect him for his starter team. It is quality. His starter team, he's been good. Fogarty was the right player. I missed out on him unfortunately. I think his biggest weakness is himself. I think he puts a lot of pressure on himself and he lets other people... We have a look at these three. I mean... I mean it's Morgan. We touched on it. You only know something about your answer though. But I mean, Morgan Smithies and Jesse Arders. Net run 6-0. Who was? Those chumps. Mike MP who was... Is it 1-7? They're explainable. They're explainable. We'll give you a chance, man. We'll give you a chance. Don't you worry, man. Right, should we give him the chance? Well, yeah. Tom, can you... Why do you think your team is better? And what is your opponent's biggest weakness? So I love our teams and it's... It is like... I love our team. It's not a bad squad. I mean... Come on, mate. Right. And yeah, I guess... I guess I've got them in the wing forwards and I've got them... I've got them in the middle as well. Max is going for middle. Carrigan. Carrigan's a must, isn't he? I don't know. I don't know. Smithies doesn't play A this week. I think there's a couple of other players that could come and go. Yeah, that's a stake. Don't be afraid. I just... I think... I'll give you the middles. Look, Pat Carrigan, Pat Carrigan and Murray. That's quality. You've got too much money for me here. How dare you? How dare you call your wing fullback? There's Mr. Cailin Boyle. And I'll tell you this. Have you boys seen... Have you boys seen the Knights tour coming up? If you guys don't own... If you guys in this listing right now don't own Cailin Ponga, you need to pick him up because over the next games, they go... Hold on. Give me a second here. They go... They go... They go Roosters who have leaked points. Depleted Roosters team. Dogs leaking points. Same with the Fins. Warriors, they'll lose. But Tigers and Tigers after that. So that's a good run. That's a fantastic run and I think if you don't have him, you're going to miss out on a lot of ranks. So I can miss out this week against the Roosters for a potentially lesser score and then pick him up from Canary next week. I think that's a little bit... I think there's a little bit there. I mean, Can has been very consistent, but Origen around the corner, missing around 70. He's where you are on the list, I think, for us. I think if you're a top of the top, then you hold and stay there. But I think that if you're close to the bottom, then I think you've got to make some moves. 33 ranked, even. 33 ranked. Yeah, that'd be too much. I heard you were going to go Angus Crodden. No, no. Are you bringing him in? No, I've gone this week. I've gone Blaise Lennie and Jake T-Rex for Hines and Carreira. And I think I could go Calum or Chevy, because Chevy, I think his spot is a bit more solidified. A bit more solidified? Yeah. But I think Calum is a much better stand for him. So you're a CFR on the Benz? So you're a CFR on the Benz? No, but they wouldn't have CFR on the Benz. It's a back reserve. So he's a... Yeah. So that's why I know Nero's spot might be a whole lot more solidified. No. Because you look at the sharks for a second, how depleted it is. I think for Nukin's out, I would say... Why would you think that? No, no. Not selling out. Hamill-Giorelli as well. They're two people that both start. I think they're both solidified. I think they're both solidified. I think they're both solidified. What, so you think they come back and then you get the pushback out to the Senators? They don't have as many... Well, they have as... They're all as big players today, and no one can't get them to use it. And that's where he used to play. So are you fading Nero? I'm not fading. I think he's a better fantasy scorer... Are you getting him? ...than Chivvy. So you're bringing him in this week? No, I'm going to Chivvy instead. Just because I like the job security. If you look at Chivvy, they're out. See, from my perspective, though, my perspective, you look at Nero's break-even at negative five, and Chivvy's at 16, I feel like there's a week to wait on Chivvy. Yeah, but I also don't want to miss... I don't want to have another version played. So I even... Yeah, that's very bad. If he hits it in there, I'd get him to play Salaghi to Huayra, and then if something happens to him, that's another two trades. Yeah. So I'd rather have someone that's actually in there and good, and that's probably my mistake. And so I'm just saying that he's the best scorer. Yeah. Not actually the scorer, he's just the cover. And he will be valuable. He is. He is, isn't he? In a good turn. Yeah, well, speaking of that, on that personal, so for Smack, who do you think was your best pick-up so far of the year? And then behind that, who's your worst trade? Biggest miss. Biggest miss. Biggest miss. Or worst trade-out, but biggest miss. Biggest miss. Biggest miss, definitely. 100% is Blaze. I was hoping on Blaze last week. I had a Joe Chan sitting there doing nothing with his cash at $2.98, but I saw Blaze at $3.01, needed one break even, starting six for the Eels. I thought he had that spot. Not on long, but I thought he at least had it. Because if the Eels are losing, how can Brad Arthur put that on a 19-year-old kid? Yeah. It's not into an extension. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Underneath that. Exactly. But you should, I mean, that Razor's game was like an anomaly. That's true. That's true. If you can hold Telagi for even, and get rid of Joe Chan, it's worth it. Because I think Telagi's going to come back in at some point. He's injuring that bag. I think he's more likely to come back than Joe Chan. That's why I'm getting rid of Joe Chan as a positive trade-out. I'd get rid of Joe Chan. Who was your best? Best trade? My best trade, trade-in? Trade-in. And then he just starts winning your wigs. He hasn't won a lot of wigs, to be honest, so far. Sitting at two and three. So is half the league, though. I mean, I'd say, probably, I mean, he needs to go to Rome. I was a week late on him as well, but he's still been fantastic. He needs to catch the bus. He needs to catch the bus. Well, Gordie then, I think he was the same picture. At the end of the year, just for consistent scoring, Steakie's probably taken out again. I think Joe's paying house. He's left. I think it's going to continue. And then I think he's the sort of player, maybe, if the Broncos lose a couple of games, that could back out him before OG. But moving on, then maybe, I don't know. He's like, they're at the top of the table. I don't think he's going to have you out. They're at the top of the table. That's why I'm saying they have to lose eight or more games. They rest him. They rest him. I think he has a whole bit of OG. What about your worst? Your worst section of trainings? Why are you saying that it's a section? We're just asking for advice. I've made a couple dodgy ones. So I think the worst one, point scoring-wise, was the 32 minutes when I was in GC Arthur's at Clyde Baseball in Blessey. The scrim-wise, that week, it was probably the worst. No one knew. Smitty's was on the chopping block. No one knew that Walser was going to get injured, which was going to take Smitty's minutes. Even though Smitty's was way better. Yeah, but the bar's got to be earlier than that. GC Arthur's like, come on, he's going to be a sell at some point. You weren't even playing him. He was sitting in your immersion. I was playing him. With the depleted stuff at the moment. He's like a cartridge, right? You don't really want him to make too much cash because he's a shitter. You'd rather him make that. Yeah, but he's not really going to. You don't really trade him out at, what, 340? No, he's at 390. 390, man. 390. 390. GC Arthur's. 390. Cartridge. Tom, you kind of touched on it with Kamari, but any sort of big moves or any moves that you guys are looking at making within the next few weeks? Start with you, Tom. Yeah, so this week, I feel like if we get one of the big clubs at some point, a good cap is the option. And I feel like if Mika Hines doesn't play Origen, he's there for round 13 and 14, which are two big rounds to have a big player like that. So that's why I'm favouring him. But I think SJ Nilsson's a good option. If he can't get to Hines. Yeah, if he can't get to Hines. Or, I don't know, somebody in the programme. What about that hamstring? Has anyone heard about that hamstring niggle that SJ Nilsson has? No. Not like in any field. Yeah, he can't play. Oh, yeah. As long as he can. He limped off. He went off early. He went off early last game and limped off. He went off because they were up. No, he didn't limp off. He went off because we were up. He went off because we were up. But he still had the niggle. Because when he scored that try that he scored, he, like, stayed down for a bit but then played on. He joined the team around as well. And he's a really nice, really nice fan. If you've already got, like, two hubs and Dylan Brown in there, then they're both playing fair games. You need someone else. You don't want all three of them missing in the same week. I mean, I don't even have a choice for sure. I think Foggy's different. Yeah, the same fan as Dylan Brown. So that's a spanner in the works for me, maybe, like Hines or Cleary. All right. We'll see how body ominous it is. Deidre, that's two or three weeks. Well, I'm also looking into Cam Murray as a sub. Probably, like, just for the fact that I just need to get a few wins under my belt, I think. I'd probably put it somewhere, save myself a trade, somewhere and go a non-origin, whether that's Tahu or whether that's, I'm not too sure, maybe a cash down somewhere. AFB, maybe? AFB, but he's very trial-reliant, you know. He scores 50 or, like, he scores 80 off. I don't know. He is a good option, I think. Yeah. I think he's still on the down low, isn't he, some 90 points? Still going down. That's pretty awesome. I think if you were to buy somebody off after the buy, as you were going to down low, you'd go maybe someone like Josh Kerr. But the wives don't play around 13, eh? That's right. So you'd have to do that, what, around nine? Around 10. So that's almost like an origin buy, isn't it? That was a buy. You need them one way or the other. Yeah. Yeah. Last, I think you had a question. What was that? Oh, yeah, boys, so we'll start with you, Tom. So going into the 26 rounds, who are you most worried about playing? Most worried about playing? It's hard to think about. Well, who do you reckon? Like Porch or someone? Porch. No, it's no shade of Porch, mate. No, that's not shade. That was shade, right? Yeah, a little bit. I think there's some formidable teams, maybe. Yeah. Like as you were on bad weeks once, and you had a big one. I don't have bad weeks anymore, mate. How many times have you had yet? It's coming to share, though. How many times have we got the bloody spoon now? Mate, I'm two from two. I don't know what you're talking about. At least you guys don't have a wooden spoon now. But Gordie, mate, you were in the closet first season. Gordie, you've got the debut wooden spoon. Love that, mate. What do you mean, spoon? You don't know. You did spoon. I don't know anything about a spoon. Yeah, I mean, yeah. You guys. I didn't even grow up with some of the... Last year, you had a few dodgy calls in that first five, I was thinking. What five? First season started at the bottom. I feel like you were just more fromming stuff out there, just for the sake of saying stuff without any... There's a whole logic behind it. No, no, no. There's a whole logic behind it, like most of it. Some of the tools I was... Tell you what, Mitch, he was not happy with some of the calls. Yeah, no, he is. No, but he's Mickeying. He is Mickeying around, bro. He's one of the... He's up there, but like, overall... If he's Mickeying, it'll get found out. I did say that about... No shade, though, Mitch. I did say that about Beast last season. He's Mickeyed his way through and never won. Yeah, look how he did. Yep, so am I. Maybe if you've got the luck, you do. Ask that, your answer to Bask's wonderful question. Who are you most afraid of in the league? Oh, no one, really. I mean, if I had to really choose one, I'd probably go Cheeseless. Cheeseless, yeah. Cheeseless on and off week. No, no, you don't want to be losing to a Cheeseless. Shout out to Cheeseless. Flonny's a scary one, though, because if you lose to him, he's not going to show. He's 5'5", isn't he? Yeah. He's got the voice of a 7-footer. He's like a monster, really. It's just those little short bits. It's not good. All right, well, next time we'll go around the room, start with you, Lusk. So you don't have to say your actual captain if you don't want to, just with you two being in the room. But we'll go around, who's everyone captaining? And then also, if you don't have him, who else do you think would be a good option to captain this week? Oh, there's only one man you can captain this week. There we go. It's Nico Hodes. Nico Hodes. He's got the band. He does, doesn't he? Yeah, because he's kind of full. You cannot agree, but he is the clear-cut number one captain. He's the option this week, 100%. Yeah. No, two ways about it. Unless you're on Jermaine Hogger. Unless you are. Then he's got the orange band from Australia. We'll see how it goes. We'll come back and review. He's got me the double. He's been bothering me for weeks in a row. He's got me the double. His bust has been 48. His floor is 60. His floor is 44. His floor is 45. He can be 100. You need to keep holding that one belt, can't you? Yeah, well, I'm sitting pretty at the top of the ladder, mate. I can hold this for as long as I want. So, I'm guessing you guys are both Hopgood. Hopgood's got me the orange band. Maybe, but I'm pretty similar. I'm not going to hold it. So, what about you two? Are you going to disclose, or are you just going to keep it? I think we're both going to mind. Yeah. This guy's, yeah, just busting up his team to get Owen's in. I don't think he's busting up. A lot of people are trading the same player. I will admit, I will admit. So, who are you trading out? Who are you trading out for? So, I have... Injig Rappenaar and... Injig Rappenaar and Keraz. Okay, so, behind Keraz, I reckon... One second. Let me... My boot's sweat as, don't worry about it. And he tried to say he's got a better boot. No, no, no. Keraz, I'll tell you. His foot's just coming up. Storm could score right against the Knights by Tigers, Panthers, Raiders. And I just don't think he's scoring anything. I'd hate for him to come out and knock a Knight. Yeah, but he's one of those tackle break guys. He's not going to score amazingly in, like, a close game. He has been. He's been twice in a row. And you're lucky he has Regis. But he's that guy that happens to him all the time. No, it's definitely... Yeah, yeah. It's definitely on the... On the... You don't want to forbid your level through Origen as well, though. I don't think so. I think the... He's got that jaw as well. He's got to use a different play. He's got to allow the swing to sell before his buy. He needs to be a sell, so I reckon... Yeah, he's got to do well to hold him through that buy. And then, I don't know, bring in Hines. Obviously, there's so much more on them. That's the problem right now. They've got no real captaincy options. No-one's really getting on with that. I'll be back to score out a bit of... The stuff is for the BHA. Yeah, need Piacora. I think he's still... He's not next round. He's round after... Yeah. I just don't think he's worth enough to sell. Oh, no. He's got the spot. He's got the spot. He's got to hold on this season. Yeah. Obviously... But he scores well when he's there as well. I'm temperaturising him. Mm. And I can... It'll be him if I'm good. It'll be him if I'm still. It's definitely been a slow season. Yeah. Fair. What about you? Who are you captaining this week, host? I don't actually know. Oh, Lord knows. I think I might just have to go with Harry Grant. Yep. He's kind of the only... He's the only guy I've got lingering around, really, that you can captain. I don't really want to captain KT. I prefer Harry Grant. He needs to be a team man. I know, but I don't really want to... Who else would you... I can't really captain anyone else. I think we'd go Caitlin against the roof. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah? That's the worst season. Just pause the record. Just pause the record. Just pause it. I don't know. It's just... You have to clear the wings. Find a match or something. At the end of tonight, we'll come back to this, and I'll listen to this, and I'll listen purely just to hear myself say that, and we'll say, it's over. It's over. I can't continue to do that. No. Really, no. No. I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm...
