The speaker emphasizes the importance of reading the Bible for spiritual nourishment and guidance. They mention the removal of certain scriptures during the Nicene Council but highlight that there are still 66 books that hold valuable lessons. They explain that success in life goes beyond material possessions and that the Bible provides correction and instruction. The speaker encourages listeners to pick up their Bibles and listen to what God has to say. They also suggest getting a hard copy to avoid distractions from apps. Although the human body is fully resilient, God built us strong. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. That being said, after a period of time, depending upon the person's body weight or the BMI, the body mass index, faintness, dizziness, blood pressure drops, slowing heart rate, hypertension, weakness, dehydration, thyroid malfunction, abdominal pain, low potassium, body temperature fluctuations, post-traumatic stress or depression, heart attack, organ failure, will occur without food. The person will go into a state of starvation, much like what happens spiritually when we are not reading the word. Hi, I'm Dr. Faye, and welcome to another Faith Alive in 5, the 5-Minute Gospel. This week, I have the honor and privilege of sharing with you a series of how important it is to read your Bible. You see, God, in all of his wisdom and all of his power and insightfulness and being the God of future events, who goes into the future and come into our present moment to show us the way we should walk our lives out, saw that we needed to have something written, something that we could hold, something that we could associate with him in this earth. So he gave us the Bible. Now I know, you know, you're intelligent people, that we know that there are scriptures and chapters that were removed from the text during the Nicene Council because King James did not want to be offended. So they took out a lot of things. But here's the thing. We have 66 books that are still here, regardless of what others may think of them, this collection of books, of letters, poetry, psalms, and songs, and love notes, and epistles were written for our learning. And as a matter of fact, the Bible says of itself that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and it's profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, that you and I can be ready, equipped, and to be able to walk in this world. You see, you can go outside of yourself and obtain a level of what human beings call success, the things, the house, the car, the job, the position, but that's not all that life has for you. It has much more, because I've known people who are, of people who are millionaires, multi-millionaires who commit suicide because they can't take the pressure of losing any money. You see, God built us so that we could not only be successful, but have a positive impact through our lives. Matthew 4 and 4, Jesus said, as he was in the wilderness being tempted of the devil, that man should not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. We see through scripture God speaking many times over. I've become a consistent student of Old Testament scripture lately, because I see in it the character of God, the wisdom of God, the love of God, the magnificence of God. I see God inside of God in the Old Testament. Proverbs 6 and 23 says he command his lamp, that his word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. There's correction and instruction in the word of God. Now, I know the Bible is not a living entity, because Jesus became the word. First book of John, St. John says that, I believe the 14th verses, the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten son of the living God, of the only begotten, full of life and truth. I've got to go, but I want you to know that it's time for you to pick up your Bible and begin to hear, read and hear what God is saying to you right now. He has counsel, he has coaching, he has mentoring, all right within the reach of your hand, and get a hard copy so you're not distracted by the apps. God bless each of you, and thank you again for being part of Faith Alive and Five, the Five Minute Gospel. Contact me today at coach at 501-521-1381. That's 501-521-1381.
