Nothing to say, yet
The speaker discusses the importance of understanding love and its connection to God. They emphasize that many people do not truly know what love is because they lack a relationship with God. Love is not just a feeling or based on lust, but it is a powerful force that goes beyond expectations and persists regardless of behavior. The speaker also mentions that God demonstrated his love by giving his son and that love presents an opportunity for reciprocation. The next month's series will delve into what love looks like. The segment concludes with a mention of the sponsor. Welcome to Faith Alive Inside the 5-Minute Gospel. I'm Dr. Faye. You're a host and now for today's word. This month I have been answering questions that millions of people have been asking for many years and because of technology we can pinpoint those questions and actually embrace them and bring to you some clarity right here on Faith Alive Inside the 5-Minute Gospel. So the question has happened has come up so often and it even comes up in conversations and there are people who are saying I am confused. I don't know. We covered the fact that people are asking about what is the church and who is God and who is Jesus and we'll cover more of that or what is the Bible? Is the Bible really true? How do we know to believe it? These are questions that people have in their everyday waking, walking, talking life or what is Islam? What is the Big Bang Theory? Did we really come from monkeys? What is meditation? How to use it? Is it of God? You know so many questions and we have to take a pause because I'm not coming from a denominational perspective. I'm not even coming from a non-denominational perspective. I am just coming from relationship with God and truth, the spirit of truth. So the question millions and millions of people have that's more than any other questions. Other questions that I have found is that they want to know what is love and that may seem so simple for some of you but do you know that there are billions of people on the planet right now who do not feel loved and they don't understand the presence and power of love and some of you may think you know but you don't because the moment someone says something that you don't agree with you fall out of love with them. The moment somebody does something that you don't agree with you decide that they're not your friends anymore. So we don't know what it is. Really most people don't know what it is because they don't have that relationship to help them to define what love is. Well scripture teaches us that God is love. Wow that's huge and that's very short. I mean three words that boom boom, right? Got mic drop, whatever. God is love. The very definition of love is God. So how can you be in love if you're not in God and understand who he is? How can you love somebody fully and completely? I mean the power and the force of love because it is the most powerful source thing on the earth today and always has been but yet so few people really understand its power. Most of what relationship relationships are built upon is the lust. The lust for the man, the lust for the woman or the lust for the thing, the stuff. Oh, I love that car. How can you love a car that's lusted, liked it, whatever and people don't really use it appropriately because they don't know what it is. It's a feeling. They think it's a feeling. Love is much more than a feeling. Oh five minutes is not enough time. Love is much more than a feeling. God is love. Look at St. John 3 and 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. So we see God loving, love putting itself into action. So God put love to work. Love gave. There are signs of love along the way and love is not only giving. Love is giving without expectations. Love is giving. Love is giving in spite of us regardless of how we behave. God still loves us. He said with loving kindness I've drawn you. I draw you to myself because of love. Have you ever been in the presence of someone male or female? It doesn't matter and not for any particular reason, but they just made you feel at ease. They just made you feel comfortable. They just made you feel appreciated and it wasn't even by them sending you an appreciation card or having an appreciation service for you or those types of things. It was because of their presence. It was because you were with love. You were with somebody who appreciated, respected you and cared for you without expecting anything in return. They just poured into you. But love also has a side of it. The Bible says that God so loved that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes. Love presents an opportunity for you to reciprocate even if you don't. It still will be love. He continues to be God in spite of us. Regardless of how we respond to him, love never quits and we can see that but we'll have to see it in next month's series as we go into what does love look like. And so don't you dare miss that series that's coming up next month because it's going to be an opportunity for you to get unstuck and change the world.
