in a mix of sun and clouds in northwest jersey good morning to you it is the eight o'clock hour of the rnj morning program it is bird hello there a twenty will have our next road report did you know segment coming up in just a little bit and i've got some special in studio guests who are here with me to talk about a special event that is coming up in mid-april yet another benefit for the relay for life and the american cancer society and i got a couple of the uh... wrestlers uh... from the i w f i w f with the media here in the studio today to talk up this uh... special event that is coming up but first let let's meet the guy that started this whole thing so many years ago and uh... just a good friend of mine dot one of the few wrestlers that i know will not hurt me physically though at least at least you haven't yet depends how things go this morning earlier you're turning turning a new leaf in the new year i thought we were tight my friend we are we have been night is here and just uh... tremendously uh... dedicated guide to helping out so many different causes and the guy who's uh... i'm happy to call a friend for for many years now kevin welcome to northwest jersey and uh... your first time in the rnj radio airwaves i understand yes it is it's a pleasure to be here and w r n j either you're following me around the state or i'm following you but we go back a long way for and it's great to be here this morning it's good to have you here to talk about your next event and you brought along now one of the other uh... wrestlers from the i w f i did not bring him along he is an uninvited get he is that that's really is that this guy's not gonna hurt me is he's a spencer binti asher he might hurt me you don't seem very confident it just might happen that way about no-no kevin why do you bring like friends of the people that you know it won't like threatened to injure me over the course of the birdie just showed up uninvited uh... it must run in the circles that he travels in with him boy manager his pro wrestling manager extraordinaire eastside dave mcdonald a guy that shoved me like that in new brunswick in december something about this guy and then uh... the other part of his empire the atkins brothers they just uh... i think they're going to do whatever they want so here's benjamin t asher in studio right morning well we like it or not we'll talk more to benjamin in a moment kev but uh... maybe for i w f up people are hearing about it for the first time you're not new to this hero this is uh... decades that you've been doing this professional wrestling and you've raised his tons of money for charities over the years give us a brief history if you could twenty twenty three marks our twenty sixth anniversary of i w f wrestling and for the past eleven years are annual spring event benefits american cancer society relay for life and in the years since twenty twelve we've been doing our event for relay for life of not only we've raised over forty two thousand dollars for american cancer society alone in addition to doing other live event fundraisers throughout the state whether it's in new brunswick or north arlington or live events benefit a different charitable or non-profit organization and we've been doing that since very early nineteen ninety eight bert when i was four years old we thought it was that's about when i started my radio career at the end of the only thing how we started so yeah i did a real for preschoolers exactly and i look at now look at it straight who's got a better than us nobody but uh... uh... just decades of doing this cabinet so he's been based in new jersey right the whole time now we've done some live events in new york on the oakland nice new york city okay connecticut and pennsylvania beautiful four states this will be on april fifteenth in not only live event number seven hundred and nineteen in our twenty six-year history what a number wow congratulations on what you've been able to do it's just great uh... but uh... the tickets are on sale now and by the way this is coming up saturday april fifteenth uh... it's going to be a terrific terrific night uh... and this year moving into the twenty sixth anniversary with this uh... this event coming up yes dark oracle stage the i'd w of heavyweight champion will not defending his title in the main event scares me i'm just a little bit american champion casey bernier the atkins brothers the all-americans robert and brian okay myself the uninvited guest here in studio benjamin c asher really scares me just just put it out there and uh... the brain or as we like to call on the weasel eastside dave mcdonnell the manager who likes to start things up at our events so uh... you had as you mentioned at the top of the interview here you had a confrontation with eastside dave mcdonnell i didn't new brunswick at our event in december i was ready to file criminal concharges against him for putting his hands on the ham just here to help out organization i want to get physical with anybody so who knows what's going to happen april fifteenth and you will be there as well to burt once again i will honored to of course uh... to assist kevin as ring announcer and to help out however i can with this great cause uh... and it's going to be just uh... a real lot of fun uh... tickets are on sale now and we are going to give away this is a family four pack of tickets that we're going to give away a before we wrap up in a bit here family four pack and a very special and incentive and incentive yeah let's uh... let's upgrade is kept your body that gets the four tickets i want to give them uh... vip night to have them come back and meet uh... the wrestlers the night uh... of the show uh... the night of the event moments but uh... this always sells outright you want people to get their tickets right yes it's fan appreciation night we're going to have some raffles and door prizes and it's hall of fame night too so we'll be inducting some very special iwf family members into the hall of fame of course i'm honored to be a member of your hall of fame kev for my community service work so thank you for inducting me a couple years ago that was uh... a real special event all right will you stand in between me and uh... and benjamin t asher who is here because i i gotta say he's making me a little nervous and first of all how did you find this building this isn't the easiest place to find in the world well i have my ways i have my ways let's let's also not forget that while i may be uninvited i'm also undefeated and i have no plans to change that anytime soon uh... okay and uh... so what can we expect out of you are the matches all set do we know who's going to take on who uh... on that night of the fifteenth of benjamin you don't care you'll take on anybody right more important fact of the matter is on pinned undefeated benjamin t asher that's just me and you're humble too i like the fact that you've got a lot of humility to yourself that's uh... that's good to know as well kevin i'm not gonna get in trouble for talking like that to him am i it almost sounds like he said he's undefeated yeah that's not what i remember from new brunswick yeah what happened we'll recap did somebody get pinned that night i had to face this man in a new brunswick brawl yeah no disqualification street fight i remember wwe hall of famer tito santana was in my corner yes benjamin was saddled with east side dave why you chose him to guide your pro wrestling career is beyond me tito santana gave me some instruction and some schooling on how to use his patented figure four leg lock i wrapped you mister asher in that figure four leg lock and if i'm not mistaken i thought i heard you say i quit but now he's in total denial as to the events that happened in new brunswick so interesting whether it's you whether it's the atkins brothers whoever east side dave mcdonald and his east side empire wants to throw at me i'll be ready on april fifteenth okay alright well uh... you have a response for this uh... benjamin is that how it went down or no well look i i i i may have selective memory about what went down that night but the the the the real crux of the uh... of the matter of where i'm coming from is that everyone wants to see someone with with the the looks that i have been and uh... the devious smile and i carry wherever i go so i'm just an attraction wherever that's all that really matters northwest jersey ever be the same kevin now that uh... benjamin has been here no different if you don't take swift action for this may be the morning program with benjamin t asha all we have to uh... we have to swoop in at that time but they do get your tickets for the night of
