The 2018 Bulletin Review conducted by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse found 931 complaints against clergy members, religious institute members, and lay workers reported to the Church between 1970 and 2015. Only 133 convictions were made out of the 177 prosecutions. Some cases were unreported due to the subjects being deceased or the victims not wanting to proceed. Lack of awareness or involvement of the law also contributed to unreported cases. The 2018 Bulletin Review was an investigation done by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. It identified 931 separate complaints against clergy members, members of religious institutes, and lay workers reported to the Church between 1970 and 2015. This investigation involved the Roman Catholic Church alone. These 931 complaints resulted in 177 prosecutions and only 133 convictions. Some unreported cases were attributed to the subjects being deceased or the victims not wanting to proceed. One of the other reasons cases went unreported is that no one felt the need to report or involve the law.
