Nightly News Hall of Famer Brian Christiano will be presenting at the Central Penn College Film Series, the movie V for Vendetta on May 19th in the Capitol Blue Cross Theater. V for Vendetta is a 2005 film directed by James McTeague and stars Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving. Portman plays Evie Hammond and Weaving plays as V. V for Vendetta is a movie about V and E.V. trying to overthrow the tyrannical French government. The film is also considered a superhero movie. This movie is different from your average superhero movie because the main character who you would think is the good guy is actually the bad guy. This term is known as anti-hero. Some of the movies that are considered anti-hero are Joker and Scarface. V for Vendetta is one of those movies where you can watch it over and over again and still somehow learn something new every time. Christiano feels the same. Quote, honestly, I can say that I have seen it eight or nine times and I always feel like I learn something new after I watch it every time. When asked about the importance of the film series, Christiano said, quote, it is a very good way to get the teacher or the presenter to the student and sitting down there watching a film and learning different things. Christiano has been involved with the film series since the inaugural showing in 2017 and being a presenter after graduation was important to him. Quote, finally getting to be that person on the other side is exciting to me, Christiano said. On May 19th, the doors will open at 6 p.m. and Christiano's presentation will begin at 6.30 p.m. as the movie V for Vendetta will begin at 7 p.m. This has been Andrew Hunter from the Nightly News and we will see you next time.
