The introduction of mandatory ADAS technology may have unintended consequences for senior drivers. They are hesitant to adopt ADAS due to concerns about safety, confidence, and ability to learn new technologies. Senior drivers have years of experience and forcing them to change their habits is challenging. They will need specialized training and education tailored to their needs. Some may not be able to upskill or choose not to, limiting their mobility. Mandatory ADAS could leave many unable to participate in car transport and reduce our quality of life. The introduction of mandatory ADAS technology has the potential to have unintended consequences for parts of our society. Senior drivers have displayed a stronger hesitation than other areas of our society to the uptake of ADAS technology. There are many concerns that members of our senior driving community hold in relation to ADAS, including our safety, confidence in ADAS and our ability to learn new emerging technologies. Senior drivers have built a long established history of vehicle experience. Mandatory ADAS forces these drivers to make changes to their driving habits that have served them well for many years. Being forced to learn new ADAS skills in place of these well-established habits is challenging and confronting. Senior drivers will require specialised training and education designed for them, including workshops, online tutorials and in-person instructor driving tailored to their needs. Even with this level of support, it is probable that some senior drivers won't be able to successfully upskill, or simply choose not to because of the difficulty involved. That will further restrict their mobility and freedom of movement. Although ADAS has the potential to assist many drivers, we have to consider that its mandatory rather than voluntary uptake could leave many within our community unable to participate in our car transport infrastructure and therefore reduce our quality of life. I'll now hand over to Angelo who will conclude our podcast.
