Yana chose Claire Bertschinger as her influential mentor because of her contributions to nursing in other countries. Claire cared for many people and helped those in need, which motivated Yana to do more for others. Claire's accomplishments include working for the Red Cross in Ethiopia and being recognized for her contributions to emergency disaster relief. She also trains other medical professionals to work in resource-poor settings and raises awareness of global public health issues. Claire's quote teaches the importance of starting small and gaining experience in one's own community, as well as developing an understanding of other cultures. Yana finds Claire to be a valuable mentor because she not only assists those in need, but also trains others to do the same. Yana is committed to caring for and protecting children, and hopes others feel the same way. Hello, my name is Yana and I chose Claire Bertschinger as my influential mentor. An introduction about her is that she's an Angelo Swiss nurse and she made many contributions to the world by nursing in other countries. And I chose her because she cared for so many people and helped those in need. And for me who wants to work as LPN, her experience has motivated me to do more for others. And if you're someone who's interested in the medical field, her experience can motivate you too. In this slide, if you want to read, here are some things Claire accomplished. And these are all incredible accomplishments. But there's one point I'd like to elaborate on. And that is number one. In 1984, Claire went to gain experience working for the International Committee of the Red Cross in emergency disaster relief. And she traveled to Ethiopia and ran the feeding center in Mieke, where she was in charge of feeding and caring for 60 to 70 children at a time. And it touched on number three that she was actually recognized for her contributions to the emergency disaster relief. The next slide lists two things my mentor did to serve others. And I want to talk a little bit about something that is recent until now, which measures the number one. Back in 2016, Claire got her diploma as a director in tropical nursing at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She trains other medical professionals to work in resource-poor settings in low to middle income countries of the world. And she continues to raise awareness of the key issues in global public health. And this could be a good learning opportunity for both me and you. On this next slide, I want to share this quote that Claire mentions for those who are aspiring to do the same. And it even inspired for me. If you like, take a few minutes to read it. This quote teaches me that if I want to do more to help others in need, it is to start small and gain experience in my own community. And to also develop an understanding of the world around me. And the best way to do so is to learn about and develop a love for other cultures. And you might not even want to be a nurse. But think about what this quote can mean to you. To conclude this presentation, this is why Claire is such a valuable mentor to me. Claire has a lot to teach. She aided others not only by assisting those in need, but also by training others to assist in similar situations. And I'm deeply committed to caring for and protecting children. I like to work in the NICU as a career. Even if it's not the same setting as Claire, it continues to provide me with the same opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. And I hope you feel the same way too. I'm sorry, I'm already out of time. But if you want to learn more about Claire Bertschinger, here are some websites I use for more information. Thank you.
