The podcast discusses the Russian-Ukrainian war and compares different media reports on the topic. The news reports from America, China, Australia, and Wall Street Journal have different perspectives. America is providing military aid to Ukraine and increasing sanctions against Russia, but some news articles suggest that America does not want the conflict to stop. China is seen as benefiting from the war, with increased trade with Russia. Australia is also assisting Ukraine. The podcast ends with a discussion on the impact of the war on the American public. Hello, welcome to the Military News Podcast. I'm Xinyi Li. I'm Xiaochu Wu. I'm Siyi Wu. I'm Manqi Dong. Today, our podcast will focus on the recent Russian-Ukrainian War. As you know, the Russian-Ukrainian War began in February 2022, more than 400 days ago. The impact of this war on the whole world has been enormous. We will compare the different media reports and discuss this news. Guys, what do you think about it? First up, Biden and Zelensky discussed the war in Ukraine and America's part for the Ukrainian in a news report on the Will of America. The Ukrainian president said the war does not put pressure on Russia. The news clearly embodies the position of America. I also read an article in the Beijing Evening News about America's clearing operations in the Russian-Ukrainian War and its financial support for Ukraine. The news from the perspective of wanting peace, calling the leader to take the opposite position from America. It mentioned that the American Department of Defense has announced another $775 million in military aid to Ukraine in order to strengthen Ukraine's position in the negotiations. This news seems to be trying to show that America does not want to restore peace as soon as possible. I read the same article in the WeChat news. The original article stated, America is increasing sanctions against Russia and is doing so to prop up Ukraine as a pro-Western puppet. And it further states that America wants to weaken and confront Russia in this way in order to preserve its own hegemony. The wording and focus of the news is biased against America and it enhances the readers' bad impression of America. But I read the news on Fox News that the biggest gender between the Russian-Ukrainian War was actually China. Because while the Americans and the Russians were spending hundreds of millions on the war, China was keeping eyes on them and using the opportunity to trade with foreign countries. The news used a Chinese pro-vibe, as two tigers are fighting in a fight, a monkey is sitting on top of the mountain looking down and waiting to see how it will end, to describe the current situation. The news article is subjective, through which the writer leads the reader to believe that China is the real winner. China has indeed gained benefits. In the article I read, it mentioned that since the start of the war in 2022, Russian-Chinese trade was $119 billion, up 29% year-on-year. But as the news is for the Chinese people, it believes that China's support for Russia is in line with the developing trend of a multipolar world. This is very much in line with the position of Chinese readers. And the views I read in other news articles suggest that America is also dying a lot. So they do not want the conflict to stop. One of them is that they signed an agreement that requires Ukraine to guarantee future repayment of late payments in the form of substitutes or money. This news article also has a critique of America. Did you guys see any other related news? I read an article in 9news that Australia has also assisted Ukraine and opponents. A Ukrainian refugee spoke of how grateful she was that she and her daughter had found a refugee in Sydney, Australia. While following the Russian invasion, this news article described Australia's assistance to Ukraine onto a long-awaited January sympathy from readers. But the focus news I read mentioned that, in fact, American leaders were beginning to complain about the hundreds of billions in support given to Kiev by Biden. And in a news article in Wall Street Journalism, Jacqueline Wong said, Washington is already emptying its own sacrificed so-called legal weapons system. This news is not totally objective. It will lead the reader to believe that it is not in Americans' interest for this war to go on. So I am wondering if actually the American public is going to be upset about this. The lives of the American public have actually been affected. As the Beijing Evening News reports that they are risking huge benefits on many fronts. The American is experiencing the worst infection in 40 years, exhibiting the gap between rich and poor. This seems to lead its reader to believe that American government disregards the American people in order to join benefits. I am really sorry to hear about this and I hope they are doing well. This is our discussion of the Russian-Ukraine war today. We hope that our discussion will be useful and you can learn a lot of the difference in the news broadcasted by many media. And we will continue to follow the Russian-Ukraine war. Thank you for listening. Enjoy your next day. Bye. Bye. Bye.
