Fingers

A father is woken up by his daughter in the middle of the night. She asks him to guess her age, and when he wakes up, he sees that she is holding up four fingers. The daughter has been awake for eight hours, but she refuses to tell her parents where she found the extra fingers. My daughter woke me around 11.50 last night. My wife and I had picked her up from her friend Sally's birthday party, brought her home, and put her to bed. My wife went into the bedroom to read while I fell asleep watching the Braves game. Daddy? she whispered, tugging at my shirt sleeve. Guess how old I'm gonna be next month. Well, I don't know, beauty, I said as I woke up a bit and slipped on my glasses. How old? She smiled and held up four fingers. It's 7.30 in the morning now. My wife and I have been up with her for almost eight hours, and she still refuses to tell us where she found those fingers.
