A person reflects on how they saw a girl grow up from a screaming child to a brave young woman. They believe that she only used the magic of the Wellspring out of duty to her people, which has left her broken. The person regrets thinking they could help her and takes the blame for it. Enough! I watched that girl grow from a screaming little thing running about the palace halls to the young woman that fought and bled in those tunnels alongside us. She had no want or need for the Wellspring's magic. It was duty to her people that made her claim its power, leaving her as the broken husk of a woman she's become. I had hoped that I might help her in some way, but I realize now that was folly. And for that, the blame lies with me.
