I really hate school, specifically the teachers. To be honest though, I still think it is a great impact for people, but I'll get into that later. Yes, school absolutely sucks. It is so damn boring. But to say this isn't breaking any new ground, because it's been said over and over again. Yeah, no kidding. So I'm going to state why it actually sucks, and why these things actually make it good. So let me take you back to grade one. My teachers thought I was absolutely... So let me take you back to grade one. My teachers thought I was absolutely dumb in the head. Like, cuckoo. So much so that they kept insisting my parents get my head checked out. And they literally had me checked out multiple times. However, I'm not. There's nothing wrong with me. I just simply did not give a fuck about school. I just simply did not give a fuck about school. The teacher would just keep yapping their mouth, and I did not care what they had to say. Whatever they were talking about, I just did not care. It was a very boring thing for such a creative... It was a very boring thing for such a creative, energetic, enthusiastic young kid to be just drained into. Sitting down in a destructive, boring environment that just sucks all the energy out of you. Taking everything from me. So if that's what school does, then why are people going to it at all, when you really get down to it? Because people still like school, and they still have their kids go there. So today I'm going to be listing six reasons why you might think school is terrible, but they're actually good. Number one is social skills and time management. I mean, I'm really sorry to say this, but from grade 1 to about grade 12, I did not care at all about school. I was showing up late, I was missing classes, I was disrespecting teachers. I thought, this stuff is so useless, so boring, and so easy. Why do I have to go to a class that's an hour and a half long, to learn something so basic, and do it every single day for 12 years? I mean, I don't need a six month class to figure out such basic things. So yeah, often I would just not go to class, I didn't pay attention, I didn't do the homework, I messed around with my friends. Sometimes I would even do the math, and determine whether or not I even had to do an assignment or a test. I feel like a lot of people are thinking what I'm going to say next is that I really regret doing this. I had a lot of fun in high school, but I didn't get a lot done, and I didn't really learn much. I certainly was a class clown, and I just had such a fun time. But also, I did get honor roll, and I am literally a scholar, whatever the fuck that means. I then went to college, and I became a commercial pilot, so I did obtain success in the school system. I'm not trying to be cocky here, but I'm trying to make a point. I'm trying to make a point, is that school does not matter whatsoever. Like, literally at all. Now, my mom would always tell me, your friends don't matter, you need to prioritize your grades more. And yeah, I kind of agreed with this advice a little bit at the time. But looking back on it, your friends are extremely important. Not because of your friends, but because of the social skills that you're developing. I don't talk to anybody in high school anymore. Maybe one or two, and rarely do I ever talk to them. So the friendships themselves do not matter. But the social skills that I obtained from being a complete class clown, and just messing around all day long, are so incredibly valuable. It is crazy. The value that these skills gave me are so much more valuable than anything any teacher could ever tell me. I'm so baffled when I look back, that I was able to obtain this confidence in these social skills, that I don't even have to the same ability today. And that's because I'm so confident in my social skills. I'm so confident in my social skills, that I don't even have to the same ability today. And that's because in college I kind of cleaned up my act, let's say. And I became a more sophisticated and a more responsible person. I wasn't messing around anymore. I was being very serious. Very serious and, oh, we're going to do the work. Very serious and, oh, we're going to do the work. I'm a good student. And it literally deteriorated my social skills. I'm not saying you should be a complete moron in class. But you do need to find the balance. And a lot of people say, talking in class isn't good. Your teacher fucking drills it into you. So much. No talking in class. Stop. You're teaching. Oh, no passing notes. You're not allowed to talk. It's ridiculous. And then they move you away from your friends. And they do all these stupid things. But I'm here to say, don't listen to them. Because that is incredibly important. And I even see all these self-improvement YouTubers saying, oh, you need to be, oh, all these people are messing around in class. And, yeah, but like they're still getting the same grades as you. So why does it matter? And in some cases, like, I was an incredibly good student. I got good grades sometimes. A lot of the times, not really. Because the teacher really didn't like me. But, you know, I ended up with honor roll. So does it really matter? No. And if you're going to do this and sort of, I don't know, be disrespectful and find your grounding in society. And break the rules. This is your time to do it, is when you're younger, elementary, high school. I would say don't do it in college. Because college is actually really important. If you're in a good program where you're going into a career that you actually care about and you actually want to learn about, which I'm assuming, you know, you're doing that if you're in college. Otherwise, what are you doing in college? And so it's actually important that you pay attention in college. But it's just not in the younger years. And the teachers are just... I don't want to disrespect them still. But, I'm sorry, high school and elementary teachers are really... They're not... A lot of... Most of them are just stupid. Now, number two is respect. I've already stated this. I was incredibly disrespectful in school. I mean, I was incredibly disrespectful in school. I was so disrespectful that I literally had teachers break down on multiple occasions. I was so disrespectful that I literally had teachers break down on multiple occasions. I literally had teachers break down on multiple occasions in front of the class. Saying, oh, I gotta quit. Or crying in front of the class. I don't know if that's really a good thing. At the time, I was really... At the time, I thought it was hilarious. But now, not so much. And... It really is astounding to me, the level of disrespect that I showed these people. Multiple occasions, I jumped out of the classroom window. I would dance behind the teacher when she was writing on the board. And then go sit down, and me and my friends would play this game where... I have to dance, and then he has to dance. Who can do as many dances without getting caught? While the teacher's writing on the board, and then they turn around. I mean, it's ridiculous. It was funny, yes, but it was really disrespectful. And it's not really something I would do today. But that's something that it teaches you. And, you know, I will say I was incredibly disrespectful. But the reason for this is I was just a young kid. I didn't know any better. And the teachers showed me a complete and utter lack of respect. Complete and utter lack of respect. They would waste my time, not teaching the curriculum, but talking about their political ideologies. I don't care. Stop trying to indoctrinate... Stop trying to indoctrinate me. I'm a little kid, and your political ideology... I mean, teachers, like I said, are not the most intelligent people in most cases. So their political ideologies would be so stupid. And I didn't care to learn them. So that's incredibly disrespectful that you're wasting my time teaching me about this, when I'm supposed to be learning about math, science, English. And, you know, I'm sorry for disrespecting them. But, quite frankly, in most cases, they completely deserved my disrespect. They wouldn't let me go to the washroom. They wouldn't let me eat in class, drink in class. They wouldn't let me talk amongst my peers. They wouldn't let me do practically anything. And if you're going to do that, and then go ahead and waste my time teaching me things that are not important whatsoever, I'm going to be disrespecting you. It was not something that I could let slide. It was not something that I could allow to go unchecked. The only thing is, this wasn't doing me any favors. I... Certainly, it was something that I did at the time, when somebody disrespected me. But now, I kind of understand that maybe it's not the best thing to react in this way. And so, you go through this system, where you're dealing with complete morons. And these complete morons have authority over you. Well, yeah, that's something bad. But it teaches you a lot. It teaches you how to respect these people. And it teaches you patience. And so, the difference between respect and a class is, you know, a 60 and a 95 that you get in that class. And you kind of learn that, although you do not want to respect these people, it is actually in your best case to respect them. They can be disrespectful towards you. They can hate you. And they can be completely incompetent and completely stupid. But I learned that patience through this. And although I was a little bit disrespectful in the beginning, certainly of my school career, near the end, I became more respectful. And I just want to show you this. This is one class that I had. And I changed absolutely nothing. I want to make that clear. I didn't study. I didn't pay attention. I didn't do the homework. The only thing I changed was my respect towards the teacher. And this is what he wrote. Thomas was initially not doing very well in physics. He was inattentive and disres... Thomas was initially not doing very well in physics. He was inattentive and disruptive in class and not submitting the required work. However, he has recently turned his behavior around and is much more focused. I literally wasn't. He prepared himself thoroughly for the mechanical systems test and his result was 100%. I encourage him to keep this trend going. So, I mean, that's literally the difference between a 60% in the class and a 100% in the class is just respecting the teacher. I was still not paying attention to him. I was sitting at the back of the class on my phone, doing whatever I was on my phone while he was talking. But I wasn't throwing, you know... I wasn't messing around. I wasn't doing stupid things. I was just sitting there silently and that's how my mark went to 100% immediately. I know that a lot of people have to deal with stupid people in life. This is the fundamental of life. You're not always going to be dealing with a high level of person. So, you really do need to know how to deal with these people and skipping school, not going to school is not a possible way that you can do this. You have to go to school to learn this skill. It's kind of a skill that you learn outside of your curriculum. I think nothing speaks louder than this progress report in which I changed absolutely nothing, but I just wasn't messing around and completely disrespecting the teacher. I certainly make it... I certainly make it a point not to disrespect people. Never ever do I ever disrespect people or look down on them because I'm a selfish person. I'm 100% honest, but it's not in my self-interest to disrespect people. Because then that person doesn't like you, and when somebody doesn't like you, it's not a good thing because you don't know what that person can do for you. Number three is discipline. Now this is something that should be incredibly obvious for anybody who's gone through the school system. The classes are completely useless. What you are learning does not matter. It's so sad that that is so cliche at this point that, you know, I don't even have to say it. However, it's very important that you read between the lines and learn the life lessons around the lessons that you're learning. However, it's very... Rockefeller who said this... In our dream we have limited resources and the people yield themselves with perfect hostility to our milling hand. We should not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or science. We shall not search for embryo, great artists, painters, musicians nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen. For the task we set ourselves is a very simple as well as a very beautiful one to train these people as we find them for a perfectly ideal life just where they are. You can see that the point... You can very obviously see the point of the school system and the people who created it. It's to train, I guess... It's to train, I guess, mindless workers for the Rockefellers and whoever else of higher power has whoever else of higher power has put their hand on the education system to influence it. However, there is a hidden benefit. Schools put you into this rigid routine with bells that move you from one place to the next and very rigid time schedules that say you have to do this now, this now, this now and then afterwards they force you to go back home and study what you've learned. Though some of us didn't do that part. Now, everything you learn is in fact useless but is it? Because you are learning the art of studying and time management Do you know how incredibly valuable it is to learn how to... Do you know how incredibly valuable it is to learn how to manage your time and how to study? You can then use this to learn things that are actually important. Just imagine if you have rigid time schedules set up with alarms, bing, bing, bing with alarms telling you do this now, do this now like for example, from 8 to 9 we're going to study how certain economic factors work from 9 to 10 we're going to study certain business models or whatever you're trying to learn in your field you can use this to just become insanely intelligent in whatever field you want, number one but number two, it also creates good habits in working. You can learn how to work for yourself. This isn't something that the school system wants but you can use this same tactics to work for yourselves and to create a business and all you have to do is follow the exact system that they made but turn it against them. Yes, it's true that doing this hour after hour day after day in the school system is a complete waste of time but imagine if you did this day after day year after year outside of the school system with your own business you don't make a lot of progress really quickly but as time goes on year after year you start to develop something that compounds and it creates this snowballing effect where it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger and before you know it, you're incredibly successful. Now number four is learning and this kind of ties into the last point. School made me absolutely hate learning. I hated reading. I hated studying. It was stupid. I didn't do it because guess what? The stuff that I was studying and learning and reading I just didn't care about. It was like the equivalent of oh we hate your ancestors your ancestors suck your ancestors didn't do anything great for this country I don't care I don't want to hear it it's not true it's not true. So having this stuff kind of shoveled down my throat political ideologies from teachers and things that are kind of disgusting like I don't know what your political ideology is on certain sexual things but I don't really think it's a place for me to learn I don't care about learning about other people's what they want to do in their spare time with whatever. I don't care. I wasn't really interested in learning this. So I kind of saw the whole education thing and learning as for stupid idiots losers weirdos who want to learn about this stuff and it wasn't until I saw this one YouTube app it wasn't until I saw this meme it was the Tai Lopez here in my garage meme it was hilarious and I'll just play it right now so basically this was a really popular meme back in the day and it spread like wildfire it was so hilarious and at you know at in the beginning I was kind of making fun of him myself and I it's really funny but then I kind of got his message which is really weird that you know this guy has a Lamborghini this guy has a Ferrari and the thing that he you know this guy has a Lamborghini this guy has a Ferrari STOP FUCKING MOVING THE FURNITURE you know this guy has a Lamborghini this guy has a Ferrari but the thing that he's more proud of is the knowledge that he's learned the books that he's read and like he said like the billionaire Warren Buffet said the more you learn the more you earn and I was incredibly at the time I was incredibly into wealthy people I just watched The Wolf of Wall Street right and that at the time was my favorite movie I wanted to be just like Jordan Belfort and so seeing this guy who had a similar life to Jordan Belfort of wealth and success kind of made me change my mind and all of a sudden I thought reading was cool I thought knowledge was cool and you know I really wanted to get my hand on whatever book I could find at the time I had From the Ground Up on my shelf which is a ridiculous thing to read but I you know I went into it and I started reading it and right now I'm a commercial pilot I got my commercial pilot license I got my commercial pilot license when I was 19 or maybe 20 and I feel like part of that success is due to this funny meme where I kind of learned about the the fact that knowledge is actually a cool thing and it is a great thing to learn things I started reading books like The Art of the Deal How to Win Friends and Influence People Rich Dad Poor Dad and for a young mind at about 15 or 16 this was incredibly influential on my life as a whole and I think it really shaped me into a person and honestly it just it gives me goosebumps to think like just a stupid meme that kind of made me see learning as a cool thing and see learning as a pathway to success which I'd never actually seen that before I think that shaped my entire life and honestly I'm so thankful that I was able to sort of see the light and see that you know learning isn't something that's stupid it's actually incredibly important but also learning that school doesn't happen but also learning that learning doesn't happen in school it very much happens outside of school and in your own life and you have to take it into your own hands to learn these things a lot of students always complain about how finances are not taught in school well there's nothing stopping you from picking up a book on finance and reading about it that's what I did at that young age and other certainly actually important things why don't we learn about philosophy why don't we learn about social interactions how to influence people finances things that are actually important to our lives in school well actually I think it might be a good thing that we don't learn about that because it forces us to take this into our own hands and to learn about it ourselves and to learn about it ourselves is certainly more valuable than learning about these things in a class from somebody who doesn't understand it at all because they might just not get the message across correctly you know I nothing against teachers but they certainly aren't the most successful people in our society they're not successful in finance they're not successful in fitness look at any gym teacher across America and they're likely incredibly overweight so it's probably actually a good thing that they aren't teaching us about these things because quite frankly they have no clue and they might actually have a negative impact if they were to teach these things and then it teaches you as well to take learning into your own hands and it teaches you that you need to learn these things on your own it's like Mark Twain said I never let schooling interfere with my education number five is that teachers are absolutely horrible I remember when I was in I believe grade eight we were going over this sort of body acceptance thing and they were they were basically telling you that you should be happy with your body and you should be happy in your own skin and they were showing pictures of you know models and saying this isn't realistic and there's a female teacher she was overweight she didn't really know what to do for the guys so what she was saying at that time I mean I'm a little kid at that time I'm like 11 or 12 years old and I thought this has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard she was showing pictures of guys who are certainly fit they're certainly athletes but it's not like an incredible body wow this body's great in fact I remember she showed like a picture of Sidney Crosby and he wasn't looking good he was like a picture of Sidney Crosby and he wasn't looking that great in the picture to me even as a chubby little kid I was like are you for real? and she's like oh this isn't this isn't and she was like oh this isn't realistic you know you can't have a body like this you know this guy this guy's a professional athlete and he has probably he has teams of nutritionists and stuff working after him and then she went on to say how you know a lot of guys they go to the gym too much and it's really not good and they eat a lot of eggs and protein and that can be really bad for your body that has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard it would make sense if she showed a picture of like Arnold Schwarzen Arnold and she said you know this guy uses steroids maybe don't use steroids steroids are not good for you but she didn't even mention steroids I mean it's crazy she mentioned eggs what? and I it wasn't even an an unobtainable thing in reality teachers should be saying you know this is an achievable physique this is something that you can achieve on your own isn't this an incredible thing? like you know a person is able to achieve this physique and you can do this through proper training and proper fitness but they're saying you can't do this what? why are you telling little kids that?
