The teen space at the Placentia library is well-designed and separate from other areas. It offers a gathering area, computers, and resources for teens, including a monthly advisory council and online help for homework. However, it lacks some features seen in other libraries, such as a gaming area or art display. There is a need for more ways for teens to socialize, like a teen review crew. Overall, it's a good start, but more improvements are needed. At the Placentia library, the teen space is well placed. It's nicely blocked off from other areas of the library. It has its own gathering area and computers, and they have a lot of things available for teens like the advisory council that meets not once but twice a month, as well as online resources to help them with various things like homework. They also offer free DMV practice tests, but they are lacking anything that defines this space as a teen area that has been seen in other libraries like a gaming area or an art area to display artwork or other ways for teens to socialize with each other, which isn't always in person. One such thing is the teen review crew, where teens are able to review the books that they've read so their peers can know if they would want to read it or not. Overall, it's a great start, but there is more that needs to be done to this area.
