Text replacement is a feature that allows you to create shortcuts for longer phrases. By going to settings, general, and then keyboard, you can access the text replacement option. You can create a new shortcut by adding a phrase and its corresponding shortcut. For example, "FCR" can be set as a shortcut for "The red fox crossed the river." This saves time when typing out commonly used phrases. Okay, so I want to show you what's called text replacement. What that does, that allows you to put, you know, a short, like for example, like me, my email is george.sabala at outlook.com, but I can put G-Z-E, it generates automatically, which, you know, if you're constantly putting your email or your address, it'll just come in handy. So I'm going to show you how to do that. So we're going to go to settings, and then we're going to go down to general. Okay, go to general, double tap it, and then we're going to go down where it says keyboard. And then we're going to swipe down until we hear text replacement. Okay, then double tap, and we're going to make a new one. So we're going to go to where it says add. Okay, then double tap. Let's see, this is going to do fox, the red fox crossed the river. Let's see if it does it by dictation. Let me see. Let me try that. The red fox crossed the river. Okay, it did it. So we're going to go and swipe to the right. Okay, we saw the optional, so we're going to go ahead and type in the C. F for fox, F, F. And then we're going to do cross the river, so it's C or the C, C, and R. C, C, R, R. Okay, let's see what we have in the edit box. Shortcut, text field, is editing, FCR, character mode, insertion. Okay, so it's FCR, so let's go ahead and add it. Save button. Okay, we'll go to the save button, double tap it. So that now, every time we do FCR, which is Foxtrot Charlie Romeo, it should type out that phrase automatically, so let's try that. New note, note, text field, is editing. Okay, we have the edit box, let's try it out. F, F, C, C, R, R. Let's go ahead and click to the right, see what it says. Note, text field, is editing, the red fox crossed the river, character mode, insertion. See, see how that works? I hope you like that little shortcut, it's called text replacement, and we'll see you again.
