In this podcast episode, the hosts discuss the winner of the Controller Player of the Year award in esports, which went to a player named Hydra. They also talk about the impressive performance of the Subliners team in a recent competition and their thoughts on other teams. They briefly mention the Esports Awards and the release of casters Chris Tunn and Miles Ross Jr. due to budget cuts. What's happening everybody? Welcome back to the Team Naive podcast episode 5. Joined by the man himself, it's Brian Abe. How are we doing? Yeah, what are you saying bro? I'm good man, how are you? I'm living the dream. Back with another news update I suppose. On the topic of discussions, we've got probably one of the biggest news, I think. Well, more generalisation for eSports itself, would be the controller player of the year. Have you seen who's won it? I heard, yeah, I've heard on the street, was that it was the French Phenom. That's what I heard. French Phenom, but he's not called Leon. But when he's squeezed on it, it is phenomenal. That's what I know about it. The McDonald's Coke lover himself. Shout out Hydra. Man like Hydra. I almost forgot his name, I almost called him Havoc, which would have been bad. That's an entirely different person, from a different nation, an entirely different team. Exactly, so that's exactly why it would have been bad bro. Casing a mistaken identity. A bad identity mistake. Yeah man, shout out Hydra, obviously putting on for EU, we love to see it. On the subliners team, they won two majors and then the finals, the chaps finals. And on that chaps final, my god was he on one. That entire roster on the finals day was mental. Mate, I went back and re-watched that recently and it's still super exciting. Even now, what are we like, eight, seven, eight months removed from when it was actually played? Six minimum? Yeah, six months, yeah. It's still, I was watching it, that map one, even still now, I was getting amped up watching that. You know what I mean? I think that final itself made it twice as more entertaining because of what happened the day before. Yeah, 100% yeah, for sure. But it just seemed like that entire subliners roster was just on the highest form they could have been on. And it's like they peaked at the right time that weekend. Yeah, for sure. To go into the Toronto game and then to absolutely wipe the floor with them. And it's a team that throughout the entire season, looked good. Yeah, that's the thing man, obviously watching the MW2 season, I didn't really know a lot about Call of Duty compared. I knew, obviously, everyone knows OpTic, everyone knows FaZe. These are household names at this point. Yeah, they've been around for a time. But Toronto, for about three months, I was constantly getting Toronto mixed up with Minnesota. So I just automatically assumed that they weren't very good because obviously I had a little bit of a disrespect on Minnesota Rocker, but they're not really paying the bills, is it? You know what I mean? Yeah, they're not exactly really taking it to the top levels. Which to be fair, I think the team that Minnesota had, they could have done a lot better than they did. You think? Yeah. Aphro, for the type of player he was in the sub, he was always a really good sub player and still is, to be fair. And then Bounce as well. But there's always sort of like, Kame and Bounce, in Aphro, they've always been put in the community of the east of the competitive players. They're looked at as quite good players. But then it's kind of hard to, in their environment, I don't know how high they'd rank themselves. You know what I mean? Unless you're talking about yourself. I don't know what you mean, really. Oh, you mean like when they look at their peers, where they would go, Oh, right. Okay. Yeah, I get you. Yeah. Because it's like, it's like us having a discussion of like, where would we put all ourselves? It's really hard to be like, I'm going to put myself, unless you're like a really cocky person, you're my top. Everybody else is below and I don't care. You know what I mean? Yeah. But it's like, in that sense, it's like all the top level pros trying to rank each other, which we are quite interesting thing to hear and look at. Yeah, no, for sure. That would be interesting. The thing is though, right. I feel like in that situation, if you're in the league and you're on, it doesn't matter what team you're on, what your role is, if you're asked who your top five players are and you don't have yourself at number one, part of me is kind of like, hmm, you know, realness respects realness. Don't get it twisted. But if you're not there, like, yo, I am, I'm him. You know what I mean? You get what I'm saying? Like, I feel like you have to have that, like that confidence, that self-belief. But there's a fine line between confidence, self-belief and cockiness. Oh yeah, a hundred percent. Like, you know, there's, you've got to keep it real whilst believing in yourself at the same time, I feel. But I think in the overall, in the sense of all the esports controller players, I think he probably was the best candidate to win. I don't even know what the other nominees were, to be honest. Well, I'm guessing, I've not looked too much into it because I don't really, I don't know. The problem is that the esports awards, they kind of go under the radar, especially at this time of year, because the new games come out and then everybody's hyped about Warzone and competitive. It kind of just slips under the radar. It's the same with the Caster awards as well. They slipped under the radar as well for me. I didn't see a lot about them, apart from what was his name that won the award, Dan Gaskin. Yeah, Dan Gaskin. Shout out Dan Gaskin. You know, again, EU is absolutely shelling it, bro. Like, we are here, like, and you know what I mean? We're taking over. That's a good, that's a good thing. It's about time that we've eventually started to get into that. We are, we have people, like, we're here, get used to it. Dan Gaskin, colour caster of the year, obviously does amazing work in the HCS, does amazing work in the ALGS as well. For any Apex fans out there, cast them both. He's a good caster. Yeah, like him and Onset, you know, the other Halo caster. Yeah, yeah. Both of them cast Apex as well. They're really good at it as well. I think when they cast Apex, they cast together. So it's like quite nice, and they know what they're on about. Like, they really know their stuff when it comes to Apex. Because, like, I'm not going to lie, like, the first time I turned on an ALGS event and was like, oh, Gaskin and Onset, like, mad. I was a bit like, do they know as much as they do, like, on Halo? Like, you know what I mean? And I was pleasantly surprised that they really do know what they're on about. You know what I mean? It's nice, it's refreshing. I feel like if you've got enough information, enough research in mind, that you could cast anything. Oh yeah, 100%. 100%. Like, as long as you know, as long as you, like, know the basics, I feel like you can kind of, like, extrapolate the top-level stuff. Yeah, as long as you're not dull and really struggling to get your words out and trying to commentate on it. Yeah, exactly. So you're going to find these, um, the nominees for controller player, man, like, but... Okay, well, while you're looking at that, I will... It's a myth. I don't think it's on there anymore. It's a myth. It's a myth, bro. It's gone. Hydra won, and they were just like, get rid of everyone else on the list. We'll just say everybody else, can't even look at it anymore. If anyone does know what it is, then, you know, compare. Let us know what you think. That'll be coming soon, by the way, people, as well. Like, we're going to be getting, we're going to be getting Twitter. We're going to be getting Twitter. Like, it's going to be primarily, like, contact us on Twitter. Like, you know what I mean? Hopefully. We need to get the groundwork involved, and then we're there. I'll work my magic, bro. Don't worry. We'll get something. We'll get something. Like, watch this space, people. Tech fingers over here. Like, if you want to connect with us, then Twitter's definitely the place to be. Sorry, it's not Twitter anymore, is it? X. X.com. X.com. At TeamNateGaz. Just going to pull this back a little bit to casters. Yeah, go for it, bro. Now, this was yesterday, day before. Um... Oh, this is, this is, I know what this is. Yeah, go on. The Chris Tunn and Miles Ross Jr. being released from the CDL as casters. Six months they are, and they let him go a week before the season. It's shocking. Absolutely shocking. Yeah, so Chris Tunn has done a video on Twitter. It's like a two-minute-long video explaining his thoughts and feelings, but, like, not going too into depth with it. Can I ask a question before we get into this? Of course you can. Um, what did he say? He was called Chris Tunn? Yeah. He's the, the desk guy, isn't he? He's not one of the actual, like... No, he's one of, no, no, he's, both of them are caster-casters. Both of them are proper casters? Okay, then. Yeah, yeah, desk ones are Puckett, AlleyCat, uh, Nameless. And then, obviously, they bring in one of the casters, as well, at some points, as well. Right, that'll be why I'm thinking that he doesn't cast series. But, sorry, bro, continue. I didn't mean to interrupt you there. That's all right. So, both of them are, yeah, so, Chris Tunney did a video on Twitter, two minutes long, didn't want to go too much into detail, his thoughts and feelings of what's happened, and then saying thank you, whatever else. Right. And that he'll be back eventually, and whatever. Sound. So, he explained in that, that the main reason for both of them being released is budget cuts. Um, okay. Well, they're both British casters. So, work visas, flights, are all paid by the CDL to take them out and cast. I thought they, I just assumed they, like, they were NA-based, now. Like, obviously, I know that they're, like, from the UK, but, like, I thought they would just be in NA constantly. But even if they're in NA constantly, you've still got the work visas, which, I don't know the cost of work visas for America, but I imagine they won't be cheap. I think it's two of them, is all. I mean, like, obviously, there's been a bit of issues with visas in the Halo scene. I know they're, like, P1 athlete-level visas, or something like that. They're, like, some weird visa that you have to have, like, a very good reason for getting. Right, okay. But it doesn't seem easy to get one, is what I'm trying to get out. You know what I mean? Yeah. So, I feel like if that's, like, a difficult thing to get, then, you know, if, like, one type of visa is difficult to get, then I feel like they're all going to be difficult to get. And plus, it's America, and, like, you know, they don't hand anything out in America, I feel. Yeah, one minute you could be getting it, and the next minute, no, you're not getting it. Yeah, exactly, like, you know what I mean? So, I don't know. I'm going to work on the assumption that they're not NA-based, going by his video. But he said that the flights and the visas, apparently, it's just getting too expensive. CVL's claim is it's too expensive, so they've had to cut a budget cut, and they've got rid of the two that are causing that large amount of money being spent on visas and flights, whatever. Okay. It's eight days before the season starts. Yeah, man, like, you know, I... Soddy. I think the thing for me with that, right, is, obviously, like, I don't know what the internal business structure of the CDL is, how that relates to Activision, or anything like that. What I do know is that MW2 made a billion dollars inside of 24 hours after it dropped. That's a billion with a B. Billion dollars. A B. With a B. A billion. But I don't know how much that trans... And this is the thing, man, like, how much of the money that they... Like, the CDL skin packs aside, right, how much of the money that is made through the sale of the initial, like, the initial release, like, sale figures, and then the micro transactions, like, how much of that money goes into the CDL? Like, how are they funding it? You know what I mean? Like, that's the question, isn't it? Even just those ones alone, you've got to think about sponsors as well. Yeah, because they've got, like, pretty big sponsors, I feel. Yeah, yeah. They've got big sponsors for it, but then the champs is, the first prize is half a million? A million? Something like that, a million, I thought it was. I think it might even be more, it might be, like, 1.2 between the five people. Yeah, between all the teams, it's a fair whack. Yeah. So, and then it's not like they're short of money, but then I don't know the cost of video games, I don't know the cost of wages. Yeah, no, I don't. There must be, and then obviously the events themselves, the cost of the venues. But I'm sure you've recouped some of that cost by tickets and stuff at the event. Oh yeah, 100%, and then obviously, like, viewership figures and sponsorships and stuff like that. But I mean, like, you know, business structure and cash flow aside, that is a... It's not great, you know what I mean? Eight days out from the kickoff of the season and you're telling two people that they're out of a job, you know what I mean? You've had six months to sort of shut up and you've done it for seven days. This is what Kristian said on his video, that for the past four months, they were told, you're in the plans for the season, you're going to get contracts. Yeah, man, it's like that, to be fair, I wonder if they could, I know this is kind of like a little bit petty, but I wonder if they could take them to court, you know what I mean? If they could get a claim somehow, because, you know, I'm not that up on employment law, but I feel like if you did that in the UK, there's going to be serious problems. The question is, is it because, well, is their contract on a year-to-year basis, and they've just come to the end of their contract, this is the time they get a new contract and they say, we're not renewing it. But being told, I don't know if you could get anywhere by being like, well, we were told for four months, you're going to be in it. I don't think that'll hold up and they'll get anything for that. Nah, well, I mean, it entirely depends, doesn't it? I'm assuming that they will have people available to advise them on stuff like that, you know? Surely, but I definitely shouldn't be listening to me, bro, 100%. Imagine, you could take an Activision to court and Cod to the court, oh, well, Brian Noob on the Team Nade podcast, which probably is who he is, because it's nay fair. And the prosecution calls Brian Noob to the stand. Just me, all right? How's it going, people? I have arrived. What do you know all about Cod League and how it's been over the few years? I've only been watching it like two. So, you know, Chris Thompson. Absolutely nothing, mate. I don't know anything. But what I do know is that what you did to these boys is unfair. Your Honour, I retire. I arrest my case, if you like it or not. Tough. So it's shitty of the league to do that. But... Yeah, 100%. But I mean, you know, it kind of just is what it is at this point, isn't it? Yeah, it's budget cuts. We're all on a cost of living crisis. Yeah, exactly, man. Obviously, Activision's energy bill has gone through the roof. Price per unit for energy has been uncapped. I wonder how much electricity they're paying for running those shitty servers constantly. They still have pocket loss. Well, I mean, they just buy new hamsters, don't they? So they don't need electricity because the hamsters on the wheels are generating it for them, right? So five dollars a hamster or something. Man, I want to see these fucking warehouses with all these hamsters running around on the wheels. Yeah, it's got to be a fucking shit tonne too. You've got to accommodate the ones that get tired and need a rest. If it's in New York, bro, they can just get the rats out the subway. You know what I mean? Activision rat catching department. Just get them out there, like trapping the rats. Isn't that just called ricochet, though? Oh, wee! What's that? One mil. One mil. Oh, damn, man. What else has been going on in Call of Duty this week? What else have you got to tell me? I have got... I don't think we touched on competitive teams before, but this is three new ones I don't think we've touched on, which are now locked in confirmed for the rest of the season. Well, the start of the season. Before we get into this properly, all of the teams have now announced rosters for the season. So we're not waiting for anyone now? No, everybody's announced it. These ones I've got are the people that are starting playing. The only team that haven't decided a starting lineup is Florida Heretics. Heretics? Is that right? How come they... Yeah, Florida... I think... Is it Florida Heretics? Yeah, I think so. Heretics was the Spanish org that bought the roster slot, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah. So they've got five players, but they've not decided their starting squad yet. Right, okay, yeah. And they're all Spanish as well, aren't they? Yeah, the full Spanish team. Shout out EU represent. Not again. So... No, continue. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Hold on, no, no, no. Um, so the news teams that I've got here... Carolina Royal Ravens. Hey, shout out Carolina. Formerly London Royal Ravens. Boo, shock. So the starting team that we've got is GodRX. Okay, yeah. Klysters. Klysters is back for another year. We love that. I don't think I'm ever going to advertise him. I think him and APG are going to have a competition to see who can go the longest. Oh yeah, who's currently been in eSports longer? They're both on... I think they're both on like 17 years or something. Jesus. I think they're the longest tenured controller players. But I would imagine that like... Because formal has been about for ages as well. Yeah. You know what I mean? So I would imagine that potentially formal's also getting up there. Slowly, yeah. But it depends on how much longer formal... Is formal younger than APG now? Um, I don't even know. Are they all... I think formal's like 29, I think. So they're all about similar ages. Formal age. Formal's 28. Oh, okay. Yikes. It's his birthday in 15 days. Let's go. Let's go. 19th of December. Uh, APG age. APG's 28. Uh... Okay. So both... Okay. Oh, Clayster's 31. So maybe Clayster's been... Clayster's been around for a little bit longer. Clayster might have been around for a little bit longer. Yeah. Well, I don't know how long they've been around. That's wild. My twin's 10. So 13 years. Oh, 13 years, I think, maybe. My man's on stream. Hitting the vape. And having big old vape clouds. Clayster. Clayster. The guy, he is the GOAT. Like, how can you not love this guy, man? He's got a health bar on deck. It's not a health bar. It's one of the old brick things. Oh, he's got the... Cloud System 9000. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, the big old massive... Yeah, you're in a cloud store. He's got a massive quiff as well. He hasn't got a massive quiff. He's not representing for the OG vapers. I always find it funny when he's actually playing. I always say they've got the player cams on. He puts a green, like, a screen up behind him, like a... Yeah, I love that. A screen so he hides in the living room. It's brilliant. Yeah, I love that. I love that. Um, so yeah. GodRX, Klyster. Yeah. Gwyn. Yeah. Gwyn. Yeah. And then Real. Real. Yeah. I don't really know how I feel about that roster. Wait a minute, wasn't Klyster on a different roster, like, literally a week ago? No, no, he moved to Ravens, but last season he was on Vegas Legion. Vegas, yeah, of course. I thought Klyster was on the same team as Standy. Yeah, that was, uh, that was Legion last year. Oh, that was Legion. Okay, yeah, sorry. I'm getting, I'm getting confused. Well, you've brought me on to another team that we haven't talked about. Vegas Legion. Okay, yeah, what we got? You've mentioned them there. Standy, he's returning onto Vegas Legion. Okay. We have then got Attach. Okay. Um, Nero. And then Purgey? Purge? P-U-R-J? If Nero is the player that I'm thinking about, he's actually decent. Wasn't he, Nero was, did he play in the CDL last season or was he in Challengers only? Nope, he was at Boston Breach last year. Having, they took him off the roster halfway through, probably Major 3, I think they took him off. That's when Boston just started to self-implode and was, like, changing everything. When, just after Methods retired? I don't think it was before Methods retired. No, it was after. After Methods retired, okay. Yeah. Nero, Nero on his day was, like, you couldn't believe how he stayed alive in situations in one gunfight. Like, he was just really, really good. He's the Pistola of COD. I don't know, like, I don't know about that, like, it's a lot to look at. Yeah, there is, that is, that is a big, like... A big boot to fill. A big, big boot to fill. And I don't think, I don't think Nero's got those, the feet that he did. Shut up, Pistola man, we miss you. His name's D, is it? Nah, but, like, when Opsic released slash dropped him, I don't think... Well, as far as anyone knows, he hasn't played Halo since, and the only communication from him since then was a tweet that he put out sometime last year now, I think, where he said that he was in, like, a pretty dark place mentally. Oh, Jesus. Because I get from the impression, or the impression that I get from it, sorry, is that, like, he wasn't really expecting it and it kind of blindsided him. Okay, yeah. You know what I mean? Which, you know... That was the change to get Formalin, wasn't it? Yeah, that was the change to get Formalin, yeah. I mean, obviously worked out for Opsic, but Pistola, absolute legend of the game. One of the, one of the goats. Definitely on the Halo Mount Rushmore, for sure. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's the thing, it's modified, like, there's so many good players that could be in a team, and it just, it changes in a heartbeat. Yeah. Even a snap of fingers, you're off of a top team, and you're not playing ever again, you know what I mean? I think, from what I understand, like, the reason why they chose to move on from Pistola is, it was, like, a playstyle problem. I think, if I remember rightly, like, someone on Opsic said that, like, they didn't have a... It wasn't like they were worried about Pistola's, like, ability or skill or anything like that, it was just because of his unique playstyle, it was a very unique playstyle. You had to give him a lot of space on the map to operate, and obviously, like, the way Opsic kind of wanted to play in that season, it was very, like... Yeah, it was difficult to give Pistola the space that he needed to be, ultimately, as effective as everyone knew he could be. Okay. You know what I mean? Yeah, okay. Fair. Sorry, bro, I went off on a tangent there. No, no, it's a good point, it's just that it's esports, so it can't happen how quickly things can change, from having it all to not knowing where you're going to be. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Last roster on my list is LAG. Possible... Oh, they were rumoured to not be coming back. Why are you laughing? No, I'm just way into what calibre of team they've managed to cobble together. I feel like this team, what was it, there were cash flow issues, is that why they were going to leave? Yeah, so they're... I don't know what org owned LAG, like, I don't know what, like, organisation is the direct parent of the team, right? Yeah. But when you kind of, like, dig down through it, I'm pretty sure they're owned by, or they were owned by the Guard. And obviously, I think towards, it was either, like, back in the last year, early this year, probably early this year, actually, the Guard, like, laid off 95% of all of their people. And then, if I'm not mistaken, I think they're owned by Stan Kroenke. Like, when you, like, go, like, really deep into, like, tracking the money back, I'm pretty sure Kroenke's got something to do with it, somewhere online. So, but obviously, it's like, I don't know if they've sold the franchise spot, they've been told by the league that they have to, they have to either sell the franchise spot or put a team out. You know, I mean, I, you know, considering it's a franchised league, I would assume that there is some kind of clause in the contract which says that they have to compete. You know what I mean? They can't just have the spot and not have a team, like. Yeah, there must be something, it's like, you're gonna lose it. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Well, whatever they've done, they've managed to scrape a team together. Okay, go on, hit me with it. Assault, staying from last year. Yep. Estreal. Yep. Diamond Con. Yeah. And Fame. Again, man, like, I don't really know many of those players. I don't really know how competitive they're gonna be. No, I don't, I feel like Fame, was Fame Boston Academy? That's right, I'm sure Fame was on Boston Academy. Last year, I don't know how well they got on, but like, I don't, I feel like Elegy's gonna have a rough year. Yeah, 100%. But that's just the way it is. One team's got, some teams have just got to have a rough time of it, unfortunately. They just don't have the funds to take in the big players that other teams can. You know what surprises me, right? Is like, you know, obviously like, what, Hixie playing in Challengers, Vance playing in Challengers, Temp playing in Challengers. Yeah. You know what I mean? You've got all these like, actual, like, I mean, Hixie aside, because it was like, what, his rookie season last year? Yeah, it was. Like, you know, you've got these like, tenured pro players. Yeah. Why, like, if you're Elegy, why not pick up some of these pro players that are going to be kicking around in Challengers? I would have said wage cost. Potentially, yeah, because I feel like those players are definitely going to want the, going to want the dineros. I mean, like, Temp's diamond glasses can't be cheap. They're definitely custom joints. You know what I mean? They do go like, low-key hard, those glasses, though. Yeah, damn right. But I wouldn't want to think about the cost of them. That's his problem. Yeah, exactly. Also, like, he's a, I've heard that he's a big donny. Like, he's like six foot six or something. So like, I imagine his overheads would be pretty expensive, bro. I ain't fucking with that. Nah. No, thank you. But it is interesting, though. It is very interesting that they've decided to return a player and then bring in three new players that are relatively unknown. I mean, maybe, you know, they're going to turn into, like, a little... This could turn out to be, like, a really good roster. Yeah, like, I'm just thinking, like, maybe Elegy has to reinvent itself as, like, a little, you know, like a feeder club. Like an Ajax or a Borussia Dortmund. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? Like, someone who brings in this, like, this talent for cheap and then they're just, like, they're actual, like, they're legit. You know what I mean? Sell them for a bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. But that's those teams. Last thing that I've got on the competitive side is the maps and modes for the year. Okay, yeah, hit me with it. So we've got three game modes in Hardpoint, Circle Destroy and Control. Standard. Yeah, Control though. Yeah, I want to bring back Cap the Flag. I enjoy Cap the Flag on Halo, watching it. It's such a... It's such, like, on a knife edge constantly. Yeah, 100%. Watching Toronto play Control last year on the Hotel. They did that. They got a round of them in, like, a minute and a half. I feel like this is the thing with Control, man. It just doesn't seem like... Because obviously, like, every map has, like, a good sidespawn and a bad sidespawn. You know what I mean? Yeah. I just feel like Control really, like, especially... Was it? It was Hotel, I feel like, where you could get the dirty, dirty hold off. You know what I mean? And just absolutely rinse people out of the lobby, like, super quick. Hotel, if you didn't cap B first, or you didn't hold top bedroom, you couldn't cap it. This is what I mean, right? And it's like... I feel like there should be a number of potential answers to the problem in a game, in a competitive shooter. You know what I mean? And there has to be a number of viable different ways that teams can approach situations. And if the approach to the situation is you have to have a guy here, then that leads into predictability, which leads into potentially less competitive games. You know what I mean? I feel like Control is... You know, what was it? Control Fortress, where, like, if you were attacking, it was nigh on impossible to, like, break. You know what I mean? Yeah, if you went forward there, they just held you. Yeah, exactly. And you had no choice. And it's just like, I don't really... I'm not really sure that's something that should be viable. I mean, obviously, like, last season, they took Control Fortress out, which they should have done. But, like, at the same time, it's just kind of like, you know, it's a bit... I don't think it makes for the best viewing experience possible. I mean, maybe the pro players absolutely love it. Wouldn't surprise me if the pro players absolutely loved it, to be honest with you. No, there was a lot of issues with Obrado last year. They didn't want it. More for the reason that you just got spawn trapping, you could lose a game without actually capping points. What would you... If you took out Control, right? Obviously, capture the flag is one option. Yeah. In this game, what would you like to see instead of it? What do you think would play well within the framework of MW3? See, the problem is, right, I have very high bias to certain game modes only. Now, the game mode that I want to say isn't in the game anymore, but was originally on the 2009 MW2, which I had the most fun on all the time. Are you going to say something like Drop Zone or something like that? No, I'm going to say Demolition. Demolition, right. What was Demolition? Search and Destroy, but with respawns. Oh, okay. So, obviously, it's still two bomb sites. You have to block both to win, but it was Search and Destroy with respawns. Now, I loved Demolition back in the day, but then they removed it because it wasn't everybody's go-to game mode. That does sound like quite an interesting game mode, to be fair. I can see whether the tactics and the strategies would come in there. What about Headquarters? Apparently, Headquarters is coming back with a new update. Do you think Headquarters would work in a competitive zone? I feel like it would be very long games, because the problem with Headquarters is if you capture the Headquarters, you then have no response until the Headquarters is gone. So, all it takes is one team to cap it, four dead, you've gained five points. You know what I mean? It could become a very one-sided game very easily, and it'll be super long games, which I don't think is worth it. I think if it's not cap the flag, then it has to be controlled, because there's no other game mode that allows quick enough gameplay. In the game itself, there's no other game modes that'll work. It is what it is. That's how they want to play it, but I don't know. Watching Halo cap the flag is, like I say, it's on a knife edge. It's constantly back and forth. You could cap and then instantly be counter-capped, which I find such a fascinating thing to watch. I think the thing is, as well, with Halo capturing the flag, on some of the maps, if one little thing goes wrong, the run is dead. Literally, give it up, start again. You know what I mean? Obviously, I've never played Capture the Flag in Call of Duty. I've never watched Capture the Flag in Call of Duty, so I don't know if that situation is the same. I don't know if it would be, you've got a nice setup, you're keeping them in the respawn, you call the flag, you start running it, your second guy in the perimeter just suddenly dies out of nowhere. I don't know if that would mean that it's a dead run, or because of the faster respawns, it would mean that you could continuously move the objective. I don't know if it would be the same, but it would certainly be interesting to see from a viewer's perspective. You know what I mean? Something new, as well. I feel like that's the thing. I feel like they've, you know, not innovation for the sake of innovation, but they should be looking at how to increase the viewer experience. Because obviously, you have more viewers, it means you have more money. More money means better events, better talent, you know what I mean? All of this stuff. Better prize pools. If you have better prize pools, you attract more people. More organizations might want to buy a franchise spot. You know what I mean? You can expand the league, and then it's like, how much were those franchise spots selling for? Like a quarter of a mil or something, originally? Entire. No, I think Nadeshot bought the... Oh, if he's the one. Yeah, he bought the Huntsman franchise spot from Hex for a quarter of a mil. Jesus. I think that was the disclosed price. Darn it. It's a lot of money. That is a lot of money. But then at the same time, like... Well, they won a championship, didn't they? Yeah, they did, yeah. Paid dividends, basically. Yeah. So quickly, I'll quickly run through the maps here. Yeah, go for it. There's two maps that are in every single game, in all three game modes. So those two maps are Invasion and Karachi. Yeah. Skid Row is on both Hardpoint and Search. Okay, I like that. And High Rise is on both Control and Search and Destroy. I think High Rise is potentially one of the worst maps I've ever played in my life. That's a hot take. That's a hot take, but like, I don't like it. I really don't like it. Maybe, you know, maybe it's different because I've only ever played it in public lobbies, where you always have someone religiously sitting hard scope in the middle lane. You know what I mean? Which is incredibly super fun, and I wish people would do it more. Do I detect a little hint of sarcasm there? No, no, I'm being deadly serious, bro. In fact, yeah, it's an open invitation to COD players around the world, right? You load into a... What map are we talking about? A High Rise. I almost said Terminal then. I was like, you load into a Terminal game. You load into a High Rise game, you've put on like the Presence of Mind sniper build, right? Pick some kind of like next demonic angle just to look down mid, and just sit there and don't move. Don't move, because this is the peak of gameplay. You paid £70, $70, or maybe you paid £100 or $100 for the Vault Edition. Waste. Just sit in one place, bro. Loads of fun. You'll really enjoy yourself. I remember we had this discussion last week. Yeah, I'm going to keep bringing it up, bro, until people change their ways. We are going to be the revolution of campers. Exactly. Our horses go up in the same angles. Exactly. So everyone, you better get comfy, because this is going to come back. This is going to be a recurring feature of the podcast, is me telling people to move around the map. You have two sticks on your controller. One of them moves you around the map. Use it. People, please, I'm begging you. It's the end of the PSA. Power to the people. Terminal is on Hardpoint and Search. Yeah, I like Terminal. I think Terminal's a good map. And then the final map on Hardpoint is Subbase. I love Subbase as well. Subbase is pretty sick. So it's a nice variety. Wait and see how they actually all work. Yeah. There might be changes in the season, but for now, that's how we're going to go with it. As long as they don't make Himmelmat Expo Part 2, I think we'll be gucci. It wasn't that bad. To be fair, Himmelmat Expo wasn't even that bad, yeah. No, it wasn't that bad. No, it wasn't terrible. Did they ever play that competitively? Like, events and stuff? Yes, yes, they did. Because it was control only, wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah, oh yeah, because it replaced... El Braga. El Braga, yeah. And then they took El Braga back. I was like, I don't remember where it was. They put it back in. I think so, near the end. I can't remember. That's disgusting. I might be wrong with that. Yeah, click VAR check on that one, but I'm not sure. Oh, dear. As long as it's not Simon Hooper. They have an NGO on VAR. Oh, mate, let's not get into that. Let's not talk about it. I could talk for a long time about video assistant referees in multiple sports. Yeah, but we all know that you'd rather talk about NFL football. And we've gone to New York for the in-booth review. No, like, we haven't. We've gone to New York for the match-fixing allegations. That's what we've gone to New York for. I see a TikTok of the day. It was a boy. It was like the sideline of an NFL game. And it was like one of the refs. He was like, how much have you got on your fucking parlay on this one? And he just started laughing. I absolutely love that. Oh, dear. Oh, dear, lad. So tell me, Mr. Brian Oob. Hello. You didn't finish talking about the maps as well? Did we go through all of them? Yeah. Oh, OK, fair enough. Were you listening? Yeah, no, I was listening. I just felt like you were going to tell us the search maps. But then I remembered that you did it at the same time. Yeah. Yeah. Would you like me to do it individually per game mode? No, no, it's OK. I won't make it time rough. OK. It's all right, because if I want to know the information, I can just listen to the podcast, Mike. Yeah. Just have to mute it and the bits where I'm talking. Just try and block it out. I'll send you just my voice, OK? That'd be so tricky, bro. It's such a weird gap, so I'm waiting for you to talk, and then I just end up talking to myself. But like really slowly. You're just having like 15 different conversations with yourself, but never finishing them. Yeah, exactly. Don't we all do that? Standard tackle for you, though, isn't it? Don't we all do that? You want to get back on that website, bro, and do another test? No, no, no, mate. No, mate, I've had a wild 20 minutes. I do not want to ride again. Oh, bad. Yeah, don't take the behavioural tests while you're at work, people. That is a team-made top tip. Yeah, if one of your mates sends you a behavioural test and goes, oh, you take this, we've all done it. I want to know what the result is. Just say no. Just say no. Tip number one, don't do it. Don't do it, yeah, exactly. If you do it, keep it to yourself. And tip number three, if you do do it, don't then go and click on other ones that are also on the website. Yeah, yeah, yeah, click on the one that you've been sent. Don't go, hmm, more tests. I wonder what else I can find out. Don't. It's not worth it. Bob's found that some interesting things about himself that day. Oh, dear. I'm still not recovered, eh? You confirmed that I'll never recover. That's a bonus. Yeah, right, go on. Give me a minute. Holy fuck, I'm getting flashbacks. I've got PTSD to that fucking death. You can hear the choppers in the background. The voices are real. So, It's Brain Noob. I would like you to take us away with some Halo news. Halo news is my favourite section of the show. By far my favourite section of the show. We've got some Rastamania news. You just hear until you get to this point. You're like, okay. Yeah, literally, I'm only here to talk about Halo, bro. My patience has paid off. I'll let you do your thing. I'll throw a few little, you know what I mean, a few little questions out there to keep the conversation rolling. Make it seem like I'm interested. And then we get to this bit and I'm just like, in my element. Make it seem like I'm not crazy. I'm not like somebody else. Yeah. Right. Moving on. Halo news. We got a little bit of Rastamania news to start off. Right. After this, I want to bring it back. I want to quickly link back around to Call of Duty because I want to chat about something as well. Okay. Before you go into your Rastamania. Yeah, go for it, bro. Can you ask me if I've been baited by Twitter again? Can you please confirm that it's not bait? I can't confirm whether it is bait or not because both of these pieces of information come from the competitive Halo subreddit. And if you have spent any time around the competitive Halo subreddit, you know that about one out of 15 posts on there are actually worth listening to. The rest of it is people not understanding how a crosshair works or how the ranking system works or how to play it again. What we're going to do is come into a YouTube channel near you. TeamNade goes through Reddit. That's a top tier piece of content right there, bro. We're going to bring back the Reddit videos that everybody was doing two years ago. We're going to bring it back. Let's do it, man. Let's put it in the Halo subreddit. There's so many Halo subreddits as well. There's so much content there to go through. So many really well-thought-out and well-rounded takes about the game, 100%. Uh-huh. I'll take your word for that. Yeah. I'm going to bring it on and I think I'll avoid it. No, mate. Like, one day I'll literally... Like, I think it was just after... To be fair, I've just remembered there's another massive piece of Halo-related news. In February, I think it's in February, season two of the Halo TV show is out. We get to catch up with the adventures of Jimmy Rings, because he's not the Master Chief. 100%, he's not the Master Chief. Because the Geezer, number one, can't keep his helmet on, and number two, can't keep his fucking armor on, right? I've played every single Halo game apart from Halo Wars 2 and the one that was like an arcade machine. I've never played those ones, right? Any game where the Master Chief is in, do you know how many of these games he takes his helmet off in? Uh, none? Like, two. He takes it off right at the end of Halo CE and you don't see his face, and he takes it off in the cutscene right at the end of Halo 4 and you only see a bit of his face. Right, okay. Like, he doesn't take this shit off, bro. He definitely doesn't take his armor off. Right. Because... More to the point, yeah. A little bit of Halo lore knowledge for you, right? Oh no, to be fair, he has his helmet off at the start of Halo 2 as well. I thought it was 3. Well, that's because he gets a new armor. He goes from the Mark 5 to the Mark 6, or the Mark 4 to the Mark 5. I think he goes Mark 4 to Mark 5. He must be fucking homin, eh? Oh yeah, bro. He must be homin. In the story, right? Like, at the end of Halo 3. So I think, like, the events of, like... If I remember, like, the fall of Reach is, like, early 2552. When they make contact with Installation 00, that's in, like, that's, like, November 2552. And I'm pretty sure the whole Halo trilogy is, like, concluded by the beginning to midway through 2553, right? Right. My guy then goes into cryosleep, wakes up, and fights another three guys, and wakes up and fights another three wars. Nice. Still in the same armor. Like, so yeah, completely correct. My man stinks. A hundred percent. My guy stinks. Have you ever seen Big Bang Theory? Um, a little bit, but... Okay, well, it doesn't matter then. My joke and comment won't fucking matter, because you won't understand what I'm on about. So I'll just keep it to myself. I am kind of glad about that, though. Because in 2023, you can't be making Big Bang Theory jokes. And that's the end of the podcast. Thanks very much for listening. Go fuck yourself. Anyway, right, like, so yeah, so Jimmy Rings is going to be out there doing Halo shit. Like, have you... Did I send you the, um, the trailer for it? No. Right, the Halo TV show, the first season was... As a fan of the story, as a fan of the campaigns, of the storylines... Yeah. It left a lot to be desired. I can't lie. The best bits of it were the action sequences. That was pretty much it. Like, the action sequences were sick. Literally exactly how a Spartan is supposed to be able to fight in the books and stuff like that. But the rest of it was pretty bad. I can't lie. In this one, the one scene in the trailer that really stood out to me was... When... So it's like, it literally shows you, like, a cloud bank. Yeah? Yeah. Right. And then out of the cloud bank, multiple CCS-class battle cruisers rise up out of it. I'm like, it just looks so cool. Like, literally, I was watching it and I was like, that is, like, some of the sickest shit I think I've ever seen. Yeah. I was like, that's so cool. But, you know, bringing it back to the Reddit thing, when that was on the TV, or Paramount+, or the internet, however you decided to watch it, um, the rslashhalosubreddit was just an absolute bog of people just fucking going at each other about everything and anything. Like, everyone was so amped up about how shit this TV show was and how they'd ruined the IP that, like, people were just out for blood 24-7. It was wild. It was literally cutthroat. It was amazing viewing. It was such good entertainment, I can't lie. People get like that, though. They get their opinion and then, no matter what anybody else says, their opinion is... People's at death with their opinion. Their opinion is the word of the Lord. Word of God, yeah. Yeah, and that's it. There's nothing else in between. You're all wrong. Like, mate, like, it was just wild. So, yeah, so that's coming out in February. Also, fallout TV show in April. I didn't even know about that, that's sick. Like, I'm so gassed for that. Yeah, that one caught me by surprise as well. Yeah, like, they were like... They must have announced it, like, ages ago, but it's just kind of flown under the radar. Like, but the stuff from the trailer, like, it just looks amazing. I'm super excited about that. But back to the competitive Halo news. There are Rostamania updates. So, according to some boy on the comp Halo subreddit, said he was an APG stream and he kept spamming him with messages, which if you spend any time in APG stream, you know, potentially, that he doesn't like that. Let's put it that way. Yeah, exactly. That is how you catch a fish. You catch a bigger fish if you're an APG game, though, to be honest with you. And you give him any stick. But the, so the boy was asking him, like, when the updates were coming, obviously, APG's been doing a lot recently to try and keep the community updated. He's building his own personal brand and more power to him on that front. But he said that his contract, so last week, he was saying that he was waiting for his contract to be drawn up. This week, he's saying the contract is currently sat in his email inbox, ready for a signature. So he's going to get on signing that. Team announcement is either going to be Friday. So this Friday, which will be the, if I'm not mistaken, the 8th. Yeah. Or the Friday after the 15th. So that is, that's a little APG update. Obviously, APG and then Deadzone, the artist formerly known as Penguin. Those are the two biggest fish on the market right now, I would say. Those are the two biggest free agents. Penguin today has also posted the contract signing gif. So hopefully, he signed for something. He signed for somebody who knows who he signed for. Like, he's put pen to paper. I still think it's Optic because I don't see Faze making a change. The only other thing that I could possibly see has happened is that it's all a publicity stunt and he's actually staying on SSG. That'd be a weird stunt to pull. Yeah, but I could genuinely see it happening. I'm not even going to lie to you. Especially considering the way that their message about his departure was worded. You know what I mean? I don't know. For me, that'd just be like a fucking like, well, you've just wasted everybody's time, really. Yeah, I think it is an outside chance. It's like a very slim chance. It's probably not even happening. It's a 50-to-1 outsider. Yeah, it's probably more like a million-to-one outsider. We backed the early kickoff at Team Nerd, so you know what I mean? I can confirm, we do. It never goes the way we want it to. There was something else as well that I literally just remember it and I forgot because I started talking about gambling. That happens a lot, doesn't it? You start to forget. Yeah, yeah. Gambling? Wait a minute, where's my phone? Let's get on the gambling app. I almost said the name of a gambling app. People, if you're listening, don't gamble. Just don't do it. Two different opinions here. I'm just going to keep mine to myself. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. On the 5th of December, there is a new Halo Infinite update coming out, which I'm pretty excited for. There seems to be a lot of content packed into it, so I would... It's being called the December Mid-Season Update. Obviously, the big thing, the big selling point of this is Firefight is back. Firefight King of the Hill is the game mode that's coming in, which is different from the original Firefight mode, which I think first came out in ODST, and then they reimagined it in Halo Reach. And then, I don't know if it was in any of the games after that. I'm really not sure. I'm not really a Firefight guy. Like, it's fun, but it's not really my sort of thing. Was it worth a remake? Yeah, for sure, because I feel like with Reach, it's like... Because in ODST, you're an ODST. In Reach, you're a Spartan 3. So it's like... ODST was a very unique Halo game, because it's the only one where you don't play as a Spartan. You play as a normal. I say normal, like you're not a normal Marine, but you're a normal Marine. You know what I mean? You're just a human. The mechanics and stuff are still very similar. You obviously don't have a shield. You are a lot smaller in that as well. They lowered the camera height to make it seem that you are more like... So if you play Halo 3 and you fight in a Brute, the size ratio is completely different than if you play in ODST and you fight in a Brute, because Master Chief is supposed to be seven foot tall or something stupid. You know what I mean? My guy should be playing Center for the Lakers, but he's actually out here just blowing everything up that he sees and committing genocidal acts of war against aliens. That is the normal two options you've got to pick from. Play Center for the Lakers or wage intergalactic war so big that you destroy a massive alien hegemony. Nice. Yeah, so we've got Firefighter ODST, which is sounding pretty good. I'm probably going to jump in and give it a go. See what happens with that. I think the big thing that stood out to me that seemed really interesting with it is that apparently they've managed to code the AI to capture the control point as well, which I've never seen that before or heard of anything like that before, to be honest with you. We've got a new piece of equipment, which is the repair field, which on the patch notes available at halowaypoint.com, it says it's similar to the Regenerator from Halo 3. The Regenerator in Halo 3 was a little bit cheesy, like it could heal you faster than you could take damage in some instances. So I hope it's not as strong as that. Surely they would have seen that and gone, yeah, let's not have that or repeat of that. I don't think it will be available in comp. Are we very, very surprised if they put it on a competitive map? Yeah, no, no. Surely they wouldn't put that in. And if they do, I would imagine it will be weighted the same as like, you know, it'll be like a top mid spawn point. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Like, or it'll be where the OS is on the live fire. You know what I mean? It's going to be that tier of pickup. We've got some improvements to ranked. So there's some CSR improvements. Basically, you're now going to get the motion protection when you rank up from... Like a one to two. No, you basically, you only get it when you go from like, so if you go from Plat 6 to Diamond 1, you get it for three games. If you go from Gold 6 to Plat 1, you get it for three games. If you go from Diamond 6 to Onyx 1500, you get it for three games, which would have really helped me out the other day, to be honest with you. I came back to Halo after about a week and a half break. So I was grinding camos and promptly lost all of the progress that I've worked really hard to get, because I completely forgot to play the game. But that is, uh, but now for the first time ever, I have a mastery of Oncology and every time I play that game now, like I'm just happy because I'm like, like my guns look sick, mate. Like they are good. We are on top. We are untouchable. The other big change in ranked is with extraction. Now, extraction is potentially the worst ranked game mode I think I've ever played, short of Capture the Flag Behemoth, because if you played Capture the Flag Behemoth, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Worst in Cap the Flag Bizarre? Cap the Flag Bizarre was... Jarring. It was jarring, but it's not as bad as ranked extraction is. Like, it's just, it's just terrible. Like I hate everything about ranked extraction in its current form. However, very excited to give it a try tomorrow, because they have eliminated the audio cue when... Diffusing it. Yeah, when it's being diffused, which I think is good. It's going to make it play a little bit more like search, I think. Yeah. And they've eliminated the UI cue as well. Okay. So I think you can still hear the diffuse if you're close enough to it. But like, see, this is the good thing about it, because in extraction, you didn't need a player to be close to the extraction point controlling it. You basically freed up all four. But if you planted, you had like all four of your players available to go and do whatever you wanted to achieve on the map. Yeah. Which was the issue, because it was the only objective game mode in the game that played like that. Yeah. So now it's probably going to play a little bit more like King of the Hill, but with more steps, I would assume. They haven't mentioned in here the other problem that I have with extraction, but maybe this will alleviate some of those issues. My other issue with extraction being the spawn logic that the mode uses, it makes no sense to me. Not saying that I have like a PhD in Halo Infinite spawn logic, but you know, it would help if it made a modicum of sense rather than continuously spawning the team that controls it on top of it. Or in some instances, the team that controls it as far away from the control point as humanly possible. Yeah. There's like no in between, it seems. Which is not great. It doesn't make it a good mode. Is there anything in there about the one-nade? The one-nade? No, they haven't mentioned anything about the one-nade, I don't think in either of the patch notes that I'm reading here. That fucking jars me, because I forget. Because it's like you don't get to pick which game mode you play. So you're one-nade, you're playing like Recharge Stronghold. Okay, cool, nice one. Two-nade, yeah. Fire one, okay. Fire another one, yeah. Sound, no worries. Then you take yourself to an extraction on fucking Live Fire, and you go, right, okay. You've got one-nade, yeah. Nade, and you go, fuck, I've only got one-nade. It's jarring. Yeah. Shit catches me out so often, man. Like, I feel like when I'm playing, I'm like, oh, I've got two-nades. So I'll use one for utility suppression, whatever. And then I'll use the other one either to like, well, just as what it's intended, you know what I mean? Yeah. To blow things up, basically. Yeah, maybe that's to stop people getting like, insta-swarded on the fucking point. I think, yeah, I think that's what it is. But at the same time, like, basically what that change did when they removed it, was they just effectively, like, allowed... They just gave loads of advantages to the team that had the point. Like, they just basically made it unbreakable against a good team. Yeah, it was very much like, whoever gets it wins. Yeah, because obviously, like, the more nades you have, the more utility you have to get damaged, the more options you have to approach and break a setup. Yeah. You know, and now it's a case of you literally have to go out and scavenge for nades around the map. And on some maps, like, no, like, I'm thinking... Streets? Like, what the... Spy grenades spawn on the trip-step? Trip-step, yeah. And then the plasmas are on B. Is that, oh yeah, and then plasmas are on B, that's it? Yeah. There are no other nades on the map, I don't think. No, there's not. And then obviously, it's the same with, like, live-fire is a little bit better, because you've got two nade spots, like, actual frag spots, and you've got one plasma spot. Yeah, plasmas, and then you've got spikes as well. You've got spikes as well, by clearing. Yeah. So, I don't know, it's just the most jarring thing whenever I play that. Yeah, it's just weird, like, I don't understand it. Yeah. Other things that they're bringing in, so there's some custom game updates, there's a load of Forge updates. The Forge updates actually look cool. Basically, the Forge updates are in support of the Firefly game mode, but it also means now that if you are a sufficiently capable Forger, you'll be able to basically code your own campaign missions, which is also going to be pretty exciting, because they've added in the high-value targets, which is quite good. Like, all 15 of the high-value targets are in. Major bosses, so that's pretty good. Oh, you can, apparently it's saying here you can also add the Harbinger in as well, which is, like, the final boss of the game. That's probably it. You can add skulls in the node graph. Go on, sorry. Did I just say that's neat? Yeah, it's pretty cool. Quality of Life updates, Forge, custom game improvements. Stability and networking, also a really big one. Obviously, they previously said that they were going to redesign the entire networking aspect of the game. That is going to be, well, part of it is going to be rolled out with the update tomorrow, but only in Firefly, because they don't want to create a situation where their update makes the situation with matchmaking worse, and then therefore impacts the entire game as a whole. They're using their new, I can't remember what they officially call it, but it's like the community test environment, which is the, so that's going to be Firefly, and then they're going to get stuff back. The biggest thing in this patch notes for me is this line, this tiny little paragraph right here, right almost at the very bottom of the page, right, which reads as follows. Season 5 added more reporting information in the game, which helps us better detect when and why crashes happen. Using this data, the team has knocked out multiple crashes across PC and consoles, including the top crash on Xbox Series X slash S devices, which is amazing news for me, because every time I play Live Fire and someone throws a nade, I crash. Just as you're going in the garage door. Just as I'm going in the garage door. It's like, yeah, like strangely, it's always in garage or somewhere around tower. If that happens, then it's just a myth, and my Xbox overheats, and then I get a really weird CRT static on my monitor, which is really nice. I don't know where the fuck that comes from. It just appears like a ghost from the past. So yeah, hopefully that sorts that situation out. Interesting that certain things crash certain consoles. I think it's like an overload or something. I've heard people say that you're supposed to restart the game every hour or so, no matter what platform you're playing on, which I can kind of see would help. Oh yeah, also at the moment, I didn't tell you this the other day, if you're playing Halo in EU, everyone is connecting to the Dublin server now. Or they were as of the other day, because I think something must have happened with the Amsterdam server. And basically, even if you connect to the Amsterdam server, it's rerouting you to the Dublin server. You remember when I was playing yesterday, I was saying to you, I was like, oh, I'm playing on 14 MS, but it feels like 140. That might have been why. It was like a slight double relay, yeah. But then that's also completely different. So the actual double relay glitch, which you can get, which seems to have calmed down now after Season 5, but that was super fun when it was in the game. But yeah, that's pretty much it for Halo news. Okay, nice. We've covered all the topics. We've already rerouted back to what I wanted to say about Call of Duty, in that I have now got a mastery camo, because I literally degen the game for seven days straight. Yeah, see what a week off work will do for you. What a week off work will do for you. I just want to put it out that I didn't take the week off work. No, you did, no, he's lying. Well, no, yeah, but like also, I didn't book a week off, I just ended up with a week off. Yeah, it's, you know, it's just like bending in the tooth, you know. You didn't book it off, but you had it off. I had it off. I didn't book it, but I was off. I've got one final thing to discuss. Go for it, bro. Obviously, the date today is the 4th of December. 6th of December is the Warzone update. I'm so excited. Yeah? Yeah, I'm like, I'm excited for Warzone, don't get me wrong. I'm also excited to see what they do with zombies. I'm super excited for these new aftermarket parts, bro. Yeah, I've seen some of them, they're mental. They sound insane. I'm very excited for that. I'm very excited to play Warzone. They've also said, I don't know if you noticed it on there, but they said that the all lobby sizes are going to be, oh, sorry, no, not lobby sizes, squad sizes are going to be available from launch on the new map, which is fantastic. Yeah, that's great. A couple of playlist changes, man. Yeah, which is fantastic because we can play duos on Wednesday now, which is great. Yeah, but it's like I fucking hate playing trios or quads when you've not got anybody else because before we got shit on, I want to just play duos because it's easier, you know what I mean? To be fair though, every time we did play duo quads, we were cleaning up, bro. Yeah, but sometimes you just got to let it be, let the quads have their time, you know? Not ruin their games too much of them. No, we can do what we want. Because then I might end up getting shadowbanned and I don't want that. You only get shadowbanned because you hack, bro, not because you have anything else. Let's not start this again. Like, take your fucking hacking obligations and piss off. Like, I'm just better. I've got the footage, bro. Oh, is that the footage of our private matches? It might be. Fuck you. Fuck a lot of you. It might be me getting headshotted 15 times in a row because I'm not very good. Mate, it was so funny when I played those custom games I was shooting Oli, missed him, swivelled, took your head off, then swivelled back to Oli, took his head off, and he went, he's fucking hacking! Fucking love it. And I'm cool, he's watching the killcam because it took ages for him to respond. He's like, let's just watch this, what the fuck is going on? Did you see what just happened to us? Oh, mate, there was absolute destruction that you were dishing out in that custom lobby, it wasn't even funny. No, I mean, it was funny, but like, it was ridiculous. It was that fucking monstrosity of a TVR revolver pistol that I made. Oh, mate, the tiny little one. The tiny little one with a fucking massive foregrip on it. Oh, mate, like no range, but rapid ADS time. Yeah, I was just like, what else can I do here? ADS speed, that'll do, nice one. So, I'm indifferent about the update, and Warzone, because if I build myself up too much for it, previous years have shown to be, it'll be quite a big disappointment. It'll be a disappointment, yeah. So there's no point in building myself up and going, it's going to be fucking sick, oh, I can't wait for this, and then it just crashes, you know what I mean? There's no point. So I'll go in there and be like, oh yeah, it's cool that it's come in, I'm going to play it, and hopefully I'm going to enjoy it, and we'll see how good it actually is. Yeah. But I've got a couple of the improvements and updates that Raven Software are doing from launch, if you want to quickly run through these. Yeah, go for it, bro. I'm just going to go, main points, I'm not going to break down into them unless you want me to break into them, okay? Yeah. So, probably quite a very fucking... This edition, this first one, I really like. Yeah. You have a backup pistol, right? I'm going to break this one down a little bit more. Yeah. So you have a designated pistol for swimming, climbing, ledge hanging, no matter your loadout. I think that's a sick change, I really like that. Yeah, that is brilliant. Thankfully, we're going to lose the f-tach sieges in the water, and you've got no way of fighting back. You're going to have a pistol, regardless if you carry in two rocket launchers, you're going to have a pistol. I wonder if the pistol will be customisable, or whether it'll just be a barebone stock pistol. I think it'll be... Whether you get to choose which pistol you have, like... I think it'll be barebone core 45. Yeah, I don't want to see akimbo WSP stingers or anything like that. No, I think it'll be barebones, like you've clicked the button. Literally, like the starter pistol, like a drop-in pistol. Yeah. In fact, I would imagine it would definitely be that. Yeah, it'd just be the starter pistol, yeah. Yeah. So along with that, you've got improved water combat, so that should be able to see people a lot better. See, I read that, yeah, and then I went and looked at the map, there isn't that much water on the map, I don't think. No, which is always a good thing, because water gameplay is not the best gameplay. No, it's definitely not. Yeah. Mario Gas Mask, fucking huge. Taking them fucking... How many maps are we on now? What do we have? We have Vedansk, Vedansk 84, Caldera... All Mars, Ross. The desert. So finally, fifth game, and they've finally got a gas mask. Manually equipped. Thank fuck. It's big news. It's fucking huge. They finally decided, yeah, this is fucking boring, let's fucking change it. Experimental gas grenade. Back to original Warzone with the dictated ammo slots. So we don't have to carry around and fucking move ammo about, you just pick up ammo and you're sorted. Nice. That's exciting, yeah. I love that. Yeah, like, that's actually going to be huge, because hopefully, quality of life-wise, I hated in Warzone 2 clearing my backpack of ammo so I could pick up more plates, or a self-reviving streak, or something like that, and then two minutes later, you look in the backpack, it's just full of ammo again. I don't need a thousand rounds of AR. I just don't. I can actually hit what I'm shooting at, I don't need that much ammunition. Yeah, it's just fucking jarring, but thank fuck they're changing it back, it was like the original Warzone, it wasn't broke, so why are you trying to fix it? Yeah, I don't understand. I feel like a lot of the systems they brought in for Warzone 2 were... well, obviously, they took it in a different gameplay direction, number one, but I also think it was designed to facilitate DMZ. Oh yeah, definitely. You know what I mean. So then with that as well, I've got loot variety. Yeah. So obviously the loot variety means you just have colour-coded instead of custom loadout. Yeah, the purple and that sort of thing, the purple for legendary and whatever else, that sort of shit. I hope the green P90 makes a comeback, bro. Ground loot green P90 in Warzone 1, best gun in the game. It was literally just a P90 with a monolithic suppressor, but it was good. Yeah. Two seconds, I've lost my screen. Shit. It's turned off, that's a problem. Oh, that's terrible, mate. Lost it in the supermarket. Absolute rookie mistake. I'm going to have to get on the fucking tannoy and be like, have you seen my child? Oh no. The tannoy has found little Jimmy, thank Christ. Go on to that Activision laptop. Mate, it's just contracts, make it larger and easier. Tack map icons, a little bit easier, then it's trying to zoom in until you're fucking straight in to see what you're looking at. Yeah. Classic red dots, so Mace, Yeah, loved that. Back on the minimap, thanks a fuck for that. I didn't even realise that that wasn't a thing in Warzone 2 until I read those patch notes and they were like, it's back and I'm just like, what? They took that out? Why the fuck would they take that shit out? I remember they took it out for the multi as well, so they were trying to make changes that just, again, it wasn't broken, so why are you trying to fix it? You know what, bro, you know why? Yeah? Because people forgot they had two sticks on the controller. That's why. They were making it for the Sentinel playstyle. Sentinel hereby meaning dog shit. That is also another thing that's not in this fucking notes just now, but I know it's coming. Ghost doesn't work if you're sat still. You've got to be moving for it to work. Let's go. Apart from the fact that they're adding in that new vest, which is Ghost on steroids. Yeah, but I feel like, I feel, I don't know if that vest is going to be in Warzone. Hopefully not. I'm never going to make a terrible mistake if they give that to the community. I can't remember where I've seen it, but I'm pretty sure they said that the sneakers are not in Warzone. You know, the covert sneakers for Dead Cells, that's not in Warzone. So thanks a fuck for that. Don't know where I've seen that, but it is like all over the UK somewhere. It might be in the loot backlog. And then finally, improved loot spreading. So they've changed it so you've got minimizing loot overlapping each other, which is always good. One other final thing I want to say on the launch. I've scrolled down a little bit more and I found out all the fucking boots and stuff and the stuff that's actually going to be in the game that you're allowed to use. So tack pads, commando gloves, quick grip gloves, climbing boots, overkill. That's the only ones that you're allowed to use. I was pretty sure that they were the ones you had as standard and you're allowed to take like whatever perks you want afterwards. Oh, I think you have them as standard on everything. No, you're right. Which is like... There's several perks that are simply enabled by default at all times. Tack pads, commando gloves, quick grip, climbing, overkill. So like basically like you always have double time. You always have overkill. Those tack pads are insane as well. I don't know if you can use them or not. Like that's so good. You can ADS while sliding. You can reload while sprinting. Like literally everything that the community has ever wanted for the movement in the game, they're bringing it all back. Like they're just going, you wanted it, you've got it. Like boom, bang, there you go. Job's a good'un. Yeah, the final thing I wanted to say before I find that. A drivable train. Choo-choo. Let's go. That's going to be good. I wonder if we can see Bigfoot from the side of it. Oh, Christ. No, I can't. Mate, no. No, not now. We can put our theory to the test. We can see if a Bigfoot would actually hear a train and we can conduct it in the safe environment of Urzikstan. Oh, yeah, if you scroll down a little bit longer, a little bit further down, what's this? New equipment. Black and white camera. Launch. Let's see if they've got a camera. A 240p potato camera. Potato camera in shaky hands. That's what it's giving it here. Yeah, so you can also see the UFOs and the Loch Ness Monster. Mate, UFOs are real. So is the Loch Ness Monster. Yeah, yeah, mate, it's just Brifuda. Have you ever been to Loch Ness, by the way? No, I've not. Bro, it's a creepy place. I'm not even going to lie. Have you been there? Yeah, I've been to Loch Ness. Yeah, I've been a few times. It's big as well. It's so much bigger than I thought it was going to be. Okay, yeah. You know what I mean? It's not quite, I wouldn't say it's quite as big as like some of the lakes in the Lake District. But it's a big place and the water is super dark. Yeah. It's like one of those places where like, going to it and knowing the sort of like, myths that surround it, you can understand why people started thinking this stuff. You know what I mean? Even if it's, there is no element of truth, like you look at it and you're just like, oh shit, like this could be a thing. This is a weird spot, like, you know what I mean? Yeah, I get that. And just before we finish, I want to say, look out for mid-season where Team Nade Duo and others will be in a ranked lobby near you to make sure that you have the worst fucking time of your life. Oh yeah. We're going to own that fucking shit. Yeah, I've been practicing. I've been putting the timing on the Rival 9 and it's getting pretty crispy. I can't lie. There's still a long way to go, but like, it's coming along nicely. Yeah, you have to watch yourself out there. We're going to be out there. We're going to be dominating these lobbies and you're not going to know what's going to hit you. Like literally, and also anyone that wants to, anyone that enters in the lobby, just know, yeah, I am going to ego shell you every single time and you are going to lose every single time. If you join in our lobby, if you join in the lobby with 428 and Brian Noob, get ready to catch these fucking hands there. Watch this now. XNID and his boys will just come in and just be like, I'm what? You know what I mean? I mean, I'm better. I'm just slept on, undiscovered. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you're undiscovered in the Halo scene. I'm just undiscovered in the CoD scene, you know? Championing weight in me, bro. Yeah, I mean, it's just, you know, as I said to you the other day, I'm the diamond in the rough that they've just not found yet. They've just not dug deep enough yet. You know that picture of the man that's like, started digging and he turns around because the next bit is just about to be diamonds and the boy just keeps digging. Call the GQD. Yeah, mate. Just undiscovered, eh? Oh, mate. You're not too soon, you never know. Oh, no. You heard it here first. I'll be on the main stage, main stage near you. Oh, I absolutely love that. But yeah, I think, unless you've got anything else to say today, I think that's it. Nah, I think I'm all out, man. I think that's pretty much covered all the little bits and bobs that I had to say. Decent. Well, this time next week, we will have a new episode, episode six, with, oh, it's going to be the start. It's going to be the main crux of it all. We're going to have the season one. We're going to give you all the details of how we felt it's going in season one. And then we're going to have the Call of Duty League, the first games of the season. And we're going to find out if these teams are going to actually dominate or get dominated and how they're going to play. We've got some big games weekend, haven't we? Where's it, OpTic? OpTic, OpTic are playing first, aren't they? OpTic sub line is massive. No, the first game is FaZe Boston. Oh, FaZe Boston, huge game. Yeah, OpTic are playing sub lines, that's their first game. That's like, that's a massive matchup, bro. Yeah, it's a massive matchup. New players on each team. Boston team is going to be brand new against a new FaZe team with Trialzone in there. Oh man, I'm so excited to see that team. Yeah, apart from the G8 snaking. Bro, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Nothing but that snake. Just like, the thing is, bro, like... Can they fucking pitch Celium off the floor with a puddle of tears? The thing is, is like, they're trying to G8 Celium, bro. You can't G8 Celium. Like, you can't G8 him. He's too, he's too final. Like, he's too good. I mean, if you really want to G8 him, you just take his glasses off him. Well, you just, if you want to G8 him, you just ban him. You know what I mean? You just take his glasses off him. What's he going to be able to play with? He's squinting his eyes trying to see what's happening. You know what I mean? He'll get a contact. You take, you take, you take my glasses away. I can't see, you know what I mean? I don't know. I can't read notes. Oh, no. I don't know why that's funny. It's just the truth. It's the hard, it's the cold hard truth. Like, take my glasses away. You can't see. One mil Celium. Oh, damn, man. Yeah, but like, um, Draza, Draza's first series as a Flavius player is going to be absolutely historic because that man has so much passion. It's insane. Yeah. Um, but we're going to be ringside. I'm going to watch it from start to finish. I'm going to have a good time. Yeah, it's going to be good. Don't worry. If you're not, if you're not, it's got the time to watch it. You're going to have the time to listen to us. Talk about it. Exactly, man. So next, catch it next week. Episode six, teammate podcast. It's going to be chilling. Let's get it.
