Good morning, everyone here today. I'm so excited. Today's podcast, I couldn't, I couldn't wait. I had to do it today. I was going to do it Friday, but I had to do it today. Anyway, anyone, but, uh, I just want to say thank you to our sponsors and Bubble Bay, Little Tokyo, Asian Tastes, Rick the Barber, and Nasa for coming. So, oh man, I couldn't wait. I couldn't wait to give my brothers, you know, the excitement, the talk, everything.
It was amazing. I posted on Facebook, Instagram, and, you know, for being this year, Sheboygan's number one team in 2023. So, to kind of break down the whole day one, day two, you know, on day one, we faced against our team, and we faced against, uh, Tuesday. Not Tuesday. Game over. Sorry, guys. We beat, uh, we lost to our team, but we beat game over, giving us the third round seed. Moving on to the second day, against, um, Bloodhounds, which is the Madison team.
Now, you guys, you know, I love you guys, Madison. You guys did great. And no matter what, I will always love you guys as my brothers and Madison. Maybe one day I'll come join you guys. Anyways, we beat, uh, Bloodhounds by 24-8. Amazing job on us. Moving on to tier one. And this was when this game was personal. To both sides claiming to be the best Wisconsin team. And we did that. 13-6. We beat them by 13-6.
I touched down to AP, and I touched down to Elijah. It's amazing how these guys are always on the field and making those plays. For AP's touchdown, he rolled out out of the rear route, and Tomei rolled out to his left. He saw him in the end zone, and threw in the ball. Perfect. And the air, and AP, man, his airtime is amazing. Got the touchdown. Now, sorry guys, I forgot to say, uh, I tried to put your guys' audio into this podcast, but I was not able to.
I had to convert it to MP3 player, and I cannot find a way to do that again, so. Anyways, so, back to the game. Back to Elijah now, actually. Elijah did a Tucker smash. I did tier one with Tucker smash on the other side of the bench, and, you know, this kid's guarding you, you can't do anything. AP came back and said, hey, give me the ball. Like, it was a Devontae Adams and Aaron Rodgers moment.
Elijah's like, hey, give me the ball, but throw me a good one. Just throw me a good one. It doesn't have to be perfect, just a good one. And guess what happens? Over the head, over the head. Elijah gets a touchdown, amazing part of his job, and that touchdown sealed the deal for us. But, the defense also made great plays. Again, sacks, making stops, and that's what they did. So, amazing job for our team Crusader beating tier one, and for tier one, man, you guys are a tough team.
You guys are an amazing team. I know it's all about competition between us two, but at the same time, please check your players, because one of your players hurt ours, and that guy's Bobby. You guys did that twice already this year. In J4, got a fight between Bobby and one of your corners, and now, Cheboygan hurting one of our guys, and he has a Michael Cushion. So, if any tier one guys are listening to this right now, please be humble.
Just because you're down a touchdown does not mean you can hurt our guys, okay? I know that it is a game that you want to win. It's a game, it's personal, I get it, I understand. But, hurting someone in the process for us to now win a championship, come on, you have to be smart and do that. But, like I said guys, you guys did a great job. I'll promise you, you guys did great. Your defense is awesome, your offense is awesome, your quarterback is amazing too.
So, much love to tier one. Until next time guys, we'll see you guys in the next tournament in Warsaw. Moving on to the championship game, we were so hyped up. 30 minutes before game time, we are going up against the tour team again. Amazing how they won. They didn't start the starters. They came in Day 2, made it to the championship by beating Game Over. Now, the first half of the game, the finals, we struggled. We had a hard time scoring the ball.
I think Tomei was trying to get comfortable and trying to really get into the game. It's all about how comfortable I am in the pocket, how comfortable can I throw the ball to my guys, etc. Without Bobby in the team, Bobby was out the whole entire game. He never came back. It's hard. AP had to come in to play running back. AP doesn't really play running back as much, but he still plays no matter what. There were some points where we made gains.
Jared did a great job getting the ball to his hand, Mong too, and also AP, Elijah, and Simon. During the second half, or heading into the second half actually, we came out together. We said, hey, we gotta start cooking. We gotta start scoring. Make progression downfield. Let's go, come on, there's no more. We gotta score here. And guess what happened? Elijah scores a touchdown. Amazing touchdown. A touchdown that I can no longer, I can't get out of my head.
Tomei throws it down deep to Elijah, and the two defenders, same thing, the corner comes in, and guess who gets it? Elijah gets the ball like a piece of candy. He's like, give it to me. Give it to me. He did that. It was amazing. I saw that shit, and I was like, man, dude, Elijah, you are one crazy guy, and one of our top guys, and I just love having you on the team. After that, our defense made a play, and our defense did very well.
A lot of people were talking about a smash to Keilu on the other side actually, and that's okay. You know what? It doesn't matter. Guess what he did? What did he do? The ball was tipped. Keilu comes in, picks it off, runs all the way down, sprinting as fast as he could to get a pick-six. An amazing job on that, and after that, we got the two-point conversion. It was now 14-0. Turquine did come back almost, scoring a touchdown on us, six points, but no conversion.
There was about a minute left to get the ball back, and it was all in Tommy's hand. It was hard for us to run the ball because I believe Turquine had two more timeouts left, and they tried so hard to run the timeout, and it was really hard. Until the moment came, and it was fourth down, fourth down of four. No, it was fourth down ten, or maybe a little further than that. It was do-or-die time.
It was either one, we get the first down, or two, let our defense come back out and make a stop. The one guy that I had been talking to, the guy that I love speaking with, Tommy throws the ball. Downfield, outside bounce, one feet in, goes to not Elijah, not Jared, not Simon, but to Mung Lohr. Catches the ball, one feet in, or two feet in. I was not able to record that, but that was a game-sealer.
After that comes back, first down, 30 seconds left, take us to the knee, and that is how the 2023 Sheboygan Championship Crusaders won this year. We all came in together. We were all getting in circles and everything, and honestly, I was buttered too. I was low-key like, hey man, this is true, this is first place for a championship to take back home to Green Bay. I wish I could record the guys, but I was tired, I wanted to go home, and I was like, dude, I'm done.
Getting out there and screaming my guy's name out there, it's amazing. Amazing job. So anyway guys, this is the last of this podcast for today. Until next time, I will see you guys in Wausau. Like I said guys, the Sheboygan 2023 Champions, downfield, let's get it. .
