Stigmatic Stains

The speaker refuses to let anyone negatively influence their mind. They describe the harm caused by people who lied, inflicted cruelty, and stole affection. The speaker compares these individuals to bacteria infecting what is good. Despite their short-term successes, they are the ultimate losers. The speaker has built barriers to protect themselves and no longer allows these individuals to affect them. The speaker questions who will be there to comfort them in their lonely old age. Within the darkest recesses of my mind lie stigmatic stains from the venomous tread of those who lasciviously lied, who strove to inflict cruelty and parasitic pains by callously stealing affection, which in abject sorrow died. Grime upon their feet seeped down from their blackened souls, oozing bacteria from within to infect all that was wholesome, feeding their audacious egos through their gluttonous goals with manipulative machinations and artful aplomb. Yet, basking in short-lived successes, they see not what they've lost, for they are the ultimate losers, and in pure pseudo-pleasure their sheer chicanery cannot calculate the astronomical cost of gifts bestowed upon them, to their eyes a hidden treasure. So no more will the stench of decay infiltrate my soul. Each time another dares to stealthily step, I steal my wall. My heart has turned colder with each passing toll, and the barriers are fortified. The moat is now full. They move on to others, too blind to understand or see the toxic waste upon the soles of their feet, as they wade through their lonely, vulnerable land, leaving heartbreak ever after as they trample and beat. But when they sit alone in their waning years, who will be there to dry their tears?
