Welcome to the Stark Raving Podcast with Eric Stark and Jesse Stark. Oh, yes, father-son duo, so many times in the car or the living room arguing, we thought why don't we make some money on this, or at least put our thoughts down on a podcast. Maybe we'll make some money on this, right? Hopefully. First of all, a little shout out, my son made the basketball team. Good job, Jesse. Congratulations. We're going to be talking, speak, Jesse. We're going to talk about the NBA. Yes, which Jesse will be there a few years from now. I doubt that. Six years, nine and two on the season as we do this taping for this podcast. They play Brooklyn Nets later on today in Brooklyn. One of those losses, I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. I'm sorry, nine and three. The two of them together make a pretty good player. They each get about 15 minutes. They're going to do okay. They both have long arms. They're very, very savvy veterans. They know how to create steals and create havoc there. And both can hit the three. But Toon has a very quick release on his three, which he's been impressed. I'm sorry to see him out right now because I think he's going to be out of rhythm. It's going to take a while to get back into playing shape again once he's back. KJ Morton hasn't played at all last year for Houston. Houston was averaging 20. Yeah. They can't get off a bench here. And Morris hasn't done a whole lot. Biggest thing I like about him is his contract, 17.1 million. They could try to trade him at the deadline in February and try to get another piece in here. We can talk about that in a second because I know we have differences of opinions. I think we've switched back and forth about how we want to see trades go down with this team coming up. But overall, it's been working out well. They have a lot of depth, don't they? Yes. I think I'm very underrated signing with the Pat Bev signing. You can't just let him go under the radar. The defense, the leadership that he brings to the table, he's a great addition for especially the contract that we got him on. That's a good point. But it's leadership and defense. He's sort of just this pesky guy. I think when he's on your team, you like him. When he's not on your team and you're playing against him, he's just annoying. But he's on your team. He's on the Sixers now, and that's a good thing. Offensively, he's not helping them right now. He looks like they need to address that area as a backup point guard. He's a luxury to have. But when you're needing him to be a necessity, which he is right now as your backup point guard, you can see that's an area that you want him to be able to come in and just be tenacious out there and sort of do the dirty work out there, be hustle points, create havoc. But they need to address that by the deadline. If it's a Tyus Jones, if it's my boy Caruso, which you're not as big a fan of. I'm not a fan of him. Or who's the guy with Detroit? Morris, what's his first name? You're talking about Malik? Or Monte Morris. Monte Morris, not Malik Morris. Monte Morris can also be a very good outside three-point shooter. Probably Tyus Jones, he's a very good passer as well, would be great from the Washington Wizards. And I don't think they're going anywhere this year, so that might be a guy they could get. It won't cost them a whole lot to do that. Let's talk about that. Beginning of the year when this trade went down with Harden and these assets coming back, I thought, great, we can trade Covington. We can trade Morris. And you get some draft picks and you can go get a superstar in here. And I now think what I'm seeing from Covington and Baton, I don't really want to see them go. I think they add some fantastic depth and what they can give offensively with a quick couple of threes and defensively what they do with using their hands to knock balls away would be real strong against teams like even Boston. We saw them in Philadelphia six years beat the Celtics earlier this year because they gave Tatum and Brown a lot to handle out there and took them out of their rhythm. But you can use Morris and maybe another young contract like Cork Moss' contract to go get a shooter like Buddy Heal in the other contracts you match or go get somebody like Tyus Jones in here. It wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to do it. Even like Kelly Olenek coming from Utah Jazz to give you a legitimate backup center for MB if you need it or you can also play the four. But you wouldn't have to lose these players that are giving you some quality minutes right now. Your thoughts on this? I believe that what the Sixers need to do here is I think Pat Bev's doing exactly what I want out of him. I don't need him to be scoring the ball for me. I don't need the offense out of him. That's why we made this trade to get Harden out here and bring in that offense that you get from a KJ Martin if you need him. Like if Pat Bev's not bringing it on the offensive end, you sub in somebody else. I think what we need to do is not target another role player. I think we have plenty of role players, plenty of depth, plenty of guys that can be switched out for each other. I think Olenek would be overall a waste. I think you've got to target Levine or even O.G. Annanoby at this point is still a little under my like where I think we should be getting. I think we need Levine, honestly. I don't know how bad we need him, but if you're going to make a trade with these guys, you've got to at least get something good in return. I think we don't need another role player. I think another star is the only thing that could help this team at the moment. Well, I thought that way before too, but just look at the way this team is playing. I think surrounding the two stars they have in Maxey and Embiid with complementary players, those that can shoot and play defense. I mentioned Buddy Hill. He doesn't play defense, but he can shoot. He's one of the best shooters we've had in this game in a long time. It's just what they need. At the beginning, I definitely thought, yes, you trade these guys away for assets and you can bring in Zach Levine, but I've watched his numbers go down and down the last couple of years. His shooting percentage overall from the floor as well as his three-point shooting. So I'm not sure that's the way to go. But, again, this is a time where if you can bring in another guy that's even on his last year and then you have the Larry Bird rights where you can max him out, you've got to get him on the fold now. So that is a thought. I do agree with you, Jesse. This is the time to do it if you're going to do that. But it's got to be the right fit for him. You don't want to be going through this James Harden thing again where the guy's demanding a trade in a year or two. And Simmons deserves in that mix as well. I think that Levine, I don't think that he would do something like that. And as much as you can see the dip down, his stats, no matter how you look at them, are better than any other of these players that you talk about bringing in. Like points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game. He can do all of them at a higher level than a Kelly Olenek or an Alex Caruso can. Levine's a good defender too, but he's not a bad shooter by any means. Like I know Buddy Heald brings in all that shooting, but Brady Heald doesn't bring in the defense that Levine does, the finishing, the passing. Levine excels at everything else besides shooting compared to Buddy Heald. It will be interesting to see what six years Vice President of Operations, Daryl Morey does, or is he President? I've got to forget his title. Daryl Morey does, the head guy. Because I don't love all the moves he's made. I mean, hard and worked for August was worth trying, but just all the different guys that have been in this place, going back to Colangelo's, even Brett Brown and so forth. They had all these assets for years, and then they sort of wasted everything. So now's their one last chance to either get a star in here with these guys or put the right players around. You're not going to get too many more opportunities to do so. So it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming months or the season and the next season take place. I think we're going to wrap things up. What do you think? I think so, too. Let's get that intro or outro music going again here, Jesse, as we practice this. And then we will head on out here. Thank you for tuning in. I would like to thank all of our viewers that came to listen to this broadcast. So if he gets the volume up, we'll practice this in the future. Well, I was not ready for it to be over. All right, anything else you want to say? I'd just like to point out the fact that I think the Sixers are on a great pace. I think Nick Nurse has run a lot of amazing set plays. And I'd just like to make sure that we don't bring in a lackluster role player. I mean, I just don't want to bring in some guy that's just going to mess with the team chemistry and not bring stuff to the table like Levine would. But that's all I've got to say. So I'm going to sign it off here. Thank you guys for tuning in.
