In nine days, we will celebrate the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. The Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus, is our advocate and leads us into truth. The world cannot receive Him, but we know Him because He lives in us. We are not alone, as Christ lives in us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us in speaking truth and making right choices. Even when we make mistakes, the Holy Spirit advocates for us. In exactly nine days time we'll commemorate the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Jesus had promised this to His disciples in John 14. I will ask the Father and He will give you another advocate who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him because it is not looking for Him and does not recognize Him. But you know Him because He lives with you right now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans. I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me but you will see me. Since I leave you also will leave. This is a promise we can hold on to anytime. Christ lives in us. He has chosen us and He has chosen to do so through an ever-present Holy Spirit. When truth needs to be spoken we know it's the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When right choices are being made we know the Holy Spirit is at work. Indeed there are many occasions where we're seeking to be able to do things our own way and our conscience tells us it's not the right thing. Then we know the Holy Spirit is at work. As this week comes to a close may I invite you to celebrate the indwelling Holy Spirit in you. You and I are not left alone. Each and every step we take and every word we utter we can reference check with the Holy Ghost and be assured that we will be able to state that which is pleasing to the Father. There will be occasions when we don't necessarily say the right things. That ought not to take us to doubt the presence of the Holy Spirit. God is with us all the time and the Holy Spirit is there to advocate on our behalf when we have said and done which is not pleasing to the Father.
