Who I am as a learner, my strengths, passions, and struggles in and out of school. I struggle with reading professional texts and books. I easily get bored, and sometimes I fall asleep while reading. Authors use big, complicated words a lot, and it takes a while to get through the text because sometimes I have to look up the words. Another struggle I have is, as I have gotten older, math has become a real struggle for me. When I was in school, I used to love math. I played academic games and received excellent grades all through school in math. I guess the saying is true, if you don't use it, you lose it. My strengths are discipline, being able to keep order in class, in a classroom setting, thinking outside the box, and listening. My passions are children, helping others, my parents' well-being, learning about history, especially my family history and Bible history. Memorable and memorable teaching. When children play, they are learning through a hands-on approach. They use skills that they have learned so far. When interacting with other children, as well as adults, they are mastering what they already know and developing new skills. Playing also helps students gain new concepts and knowledge. Learning is very beneficial in the development of children. I have a brief clip of children playing in a school setting, learning how to play. I think they're in a dramatic play. Another powerful and memorable teaching experience is life skills. I currently work in a special education classroom, and last year, the teacher did a weekly lesson every Friday called life skills. She taught her students how to make snacks that they can do on their own at home. Each student would receive supplies and follow her directions to make their own snack. This lesson was powerful and memorable for the students as well as myself. This taught them how to become more self-sufficient. The Christmas program at our school last year was also very powerful and memorable. During Christmas time last year, my special education class got a chance to perform during the Christmas program. They were so excited to be able to participate in a school-wide event. They really enjoyed participating and practicing the songs they sung during the performance. Seeing the students excited and proud to be able to get on stage and sing in front of the entire school and their parents really warmed my heart. These students are special needs, so sometimes it is a challenge to get them all to line up and stay still long enough to sing together. This made a lasting impression on the students, teaching them that they can do whatever they put their minds to do. I also included a brief clip of them singing during the school performance last year. Teacher Knowledge, Skills, and Depositions. What I am able to develop and enhance while pursuing teacher certificate certification at Wayne State. I would like to develop in my future class a diverse classroom. I would like to have a diverse classroom. I would like all of my students to feel represented in my future class. I don't want any students to feel excluded or left out just because they are from a different background or have a different culture. Inclusion. As a future teacher, I believe that all students need to be able to receive the best education possible. I think that disabled and able students should be able to learn together. It will build friendships, positive skills, positive self-image, and respect for others. It can also teach parents and families to be more accepting of differences. I also would like to develop or enhance, rather, open mind and teamwork. When I become a teacher, I plan on being open-minded and a team player. Wayne State has taught me that there are constantly new methods and ways of teaching being developed. I want to be open-minded enough to try new curriculums and programs. I've also incorporated some pictures of teachers working together, a diverse classroom, and inclusion classrooms as well. Thank you for listening to my multi-journey.
