The audio discusses how to write a better synopsis. It explains that a good synopsis should have four parts: title, business problem, project objective, and methodology. The learner's chosen title is clear and focused on career profiling. However, the problem statement is too generic and should be more specific to the learner's organization. The project objectives are broad and should be more specific and targeted. The methodology should focus on obtaining fresh data from the learner's organization, such as from the HR department and through employee interviews. Using web sources is not recommended. The feedback aims to provide a brief understanding of effective synopsis writing. This audio byte is regarding how to write a better synopsis. So to do this activity or to go ahead, let us take a sample synopsis which is already written by a learner. So before we get into what he or she has written, let us understand the first and most important point about synopsis is that it contains four parts. They are the title, the business problem, the project objective and the methodology. So let us have a look at the title that the learner has chosen. The learner has said his title for the project would be career profiling for talent, practices and potential at XYZ company. Well, as far as the title is concerned, it is good enough and it gives us some idea about the learner wanting to look at the practices of career profiling and the potential it has for his organization. So there is a bit of clarity in what the title wants to convey to us. Let us have a look at the problem statement that the learner has presented. This is what he says. I am reading it out for us. He says there are common career profiling issues such as competition, technological advancement, client expectations, skill development and more. So by being aware of these challenges, we can actively work on them to address them. Now this problem statement looks very generic. It looks as though it is taken from some external source and then just copy pasted, right? So this is not how you write a statement problem. You can make it little more better by being more specific. Problem statement should focus on the challenge that you have identified for a particular topic in your organization. In this case, the learner has focused on career profiling. So he has to focus on the challenges that the company is facing because of career profiling that is existing and how he can improve the career profiling process in his company or if there is no career profiling process as such, how is he going to bring it into effect? What suggestions could he give? So this could be the problem statement for the candidate. Now let us have a look at the project objectives what the learner has mentioned. The learner says the aim of the project is to understand strategies and insights that can pave the way for career profiling in XYZ company. Now the project objective is so broad, it is out of the blue. Now it is directly jumping into strategies and insights. Now from where will you get these strategies and insights unless you do the background investigation for it, right? So project objectives can be presented much better if you are able to scope down and target what you wanted to do as part of your project. What will be your contribution? What areas are you going to work on? So in that case, you will have to be more specific with your project objectives by stating So the first project objective one is to identify issues due to the non-existence of career profiling methods at XYZ organization or developing a customized plan for career profiling or else the other set of objectives that you can think about is if at all the career planning activity is ongoing in your company, your project objective can be written as identifying gaps in the existing career profiling process at developed methods to bridge those gaps. Now let us have a look at the methodology which the learner has presented. He has given some sources, web sources and he says that he will take case studies and reports from those sources. Now it is your course project, you are doing it in your organization, you are trying to identify the challenges faced in your organization. So depending on web resources will not be a good idea. So how do you improve your methodology? Methodology primarily if you focus on fresh data or live data from your organization that will be very very beneficial for you to learn about your company and it will also add value to your project and you can use this project as part of your profile. So here when you are looking at the student or the learner's topic that we have taken, he is talking about career profiling. So in career profiling which department will be involved? The HR department will be involved. So focus on getting data from the HR department. Career profiling is not restricted only to the HR department, even the employees are responsible for their careers growth and development. So you can interview employees also. So for your career profiling project you can interview the employees and the HR department and you can also look in for certain in-house resources which talk about career profiling for the company. So these are your main resources. Besides this you can also conduct surveys. Based on surveys you can interview the people whom you have given your question as to get further information and you can add on so much value to your project by following this methodology rather than taking a random web source link and trying to get details from companies that are mentioned in those links. Hope this feedback gives you a brief idea of what effective synopsis writing is all about.
