Hello, and welcome to Shea Cinema, a Best Picture Project. I'm your host, Sarah Shea, and I'm joined by my father, William Shea. Together, we will be watching and exploring every film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. We are recreating a project I assigned to my high school film studies students, which includes contextual historical research, discussing our personal responses to each film, what makes them important, why we need to understand these movies in context, and finally, did a winner deserve the Oscar?
