In the Go United Women's game, they had a great win and have been doing well in the season. In the Mervy United vs Gowa Hibs game, it was a high-scoring and entertaining match. Mervy United won 5-4. In the ASC Rann Moore vs Calga game, it ended in a 2-2 draw with some chaotic moments. Wren Moore impressed and Calga fought back. In the Colmarstown United vs Muriomore game, Muriomore won 2-0 with Liam McDonagh scoring both goals. Colmarstown put up a good fight. In the Mirvi United vs Salted Leaven game, Salted Leaven won 3-1 with Mikey Fox scoring two goals. Mirviu started well but Salted responded and took control. I'm moving on to Go United Women. Berkey, you were at the game on Saturday, it was a great win against a really good side. Yeah, do you know 4-0 at home to Glen Torrent was impressive. The girls managed to continue their excellent start to the season. Yeah, I mean, top of the league, two out of two in the All-Ireland Cup. I think dad win guarantees in the spot in the knockout stages. I stand corrected with that, but I think that's right. Great goal, I'm sure you've seen it by Kate Thompson, the first one, just close to halftime. It was a real second ball from the corner, I think it was, if I remember right, and top corner. Top performance by the girls again and hopefully they can manage to retain that trophy this year as well as continuing on with their league campaign. Who knows what can be achieved with that, how well they start. Yeah, good results. Didn't see it coming though, I know Glen Torrent are the top side in the North's women's soccer the last while, but fair play to them, good results. Yeah, massive results. I expected they might have won considering the start, but to score four goals, keep it in sheets, absolutely phenomenal. Hopefully the crowd continues to build at their games because the start of the season has been impeccable, it's been excellent. We'll move on to the Premier Division soccer then. On last Wednesday it was Mervy United 5, Gowa Hibs 4. I was at this game myself, didn't make it until the second half which is unfortunate because I missed 8 out of the 9 goals, would you believe it or not. It was 5-3 to Mervy United at halftime. It was an excellent game, it had all the qualities that the derby should have where it was very entertaining, it was played at high tempo. Both benches were vocal, could you say, towards the referee. I know Mark Lynch was reffing this game and by all accounts he did an excellent job keeping the game going. There was no yellow cards or any really bad tackles as well. It was a great game, very entertaining. I know Mervy United rested a few considering they had played a lot of games in the period so Conor Wynne didn't start. He actually came on midway through the second half to close it out for Mervy United. It was a very good win for them and to win 5-4 Kevin, that's them going. Yeah, just briefly on that, I know you were at it but I don't think Conor Wynne was rested for that game because the other boy that was in goal for them, myself and Berkley were at the game on Saturday in the league and he started in goal so they obviously started him on purpose because they knew Wynne wasn't available at the weekend. We'll touch on them, it was great that we had people at pretty much every Premier Division game this weekend with eyes on the game so we've got good reports. Any thoughts on that game Berkley, the 5-4 win for Mervy United? The only thought I have is that I was sorry I missed it. I think you pointed out it was better than the Champions League game that night, I'm not sure. Everyone will agree with that statement but it seemed to be a thriller in Fahey's field so credit to Mervu and also credit to Hibbs, they went down fighting and it seemed to be an entertaining affair. Yeah it definitely was, I think Hibbs were 5-2 down on one stage as well so to bring it back within the goal was a credit and it was a really good game, really entertaining. Then on to Saturday, another game I was at, ASC ran Moore 2, Calga 2. It started off in the first half really tacked, not many chances, it was nil all of halftime and then into the second half Calga took the lead, they went 1-0 up and then there was just five minutes of absolute chaos football. It went from 1-0 to Calga to 2-2 all, it was pretty incredible. So Wren Moore got level for a really well worked free kick. Jack Greaney I believe played the free kick short and it went into the box and they scored from it. Then Calga went back ahead 2-1 and then within a minute Wren Moore got level 2-1. Again Mark Lynch was reffing this game really well, no bad tackles, nil all. Two good sides that really wanted to play football and I'd say a draw was a fair result. Wren Moore really impressed me, I'd say Calga were favourites going into this game but no I think a draw was a fair result and they played in good conditions as well, it was a really good game to watch. Jack Greaney Yeah I'd say when you talk about a five minute of chaos I think we all agree that Wren Moore kind of strive off chaos don't they? They're a bit like the Mayo footballers to a certain extent, they're at their best when the game is chaotic. When the game is chaotic one of the few teams in the county you don't want to play against is Wren Moore because you don't know what can happen and look that five minute period they obviously took advantage of that chaotic period and got back level. It's a massive massive point for them, I think they're as good as safe now to be honest with you. I suppose that result now opens the door for Hibbs, they'll probably feel the favourites now to finish fourth but obviously their results on Wednesday night and Saturday they'll have to pick up points if they want to get that fourth spot. Yeah credit to Wren Moore's huge point to them, sort of gives them a bit of reassurance now that they should have enough to stay up. Claudia would be disappointed but again you know they have their eyes on a kind of cup and I know they're playing tonight I believe and they might work up a quarterfinal in that rearranged fixture with Sophie Devon and Drum. So they've got their eyes on other games at this stage of the season so to be still in two cup competitions this late in the day you know it's massive and they'll be keen to reach the final stages of both of those competitions. Yeah definitely really good game now, really enjoyable game. The next game then, Colmarstown United 0 Mario Moore 2. I think Liam McDonagh got both goals late in the second half. Kevin you were at this game, how would you sum it up? Yeah the game was played on Colmarstown's secondary pitch because they're currently doing work on their main pitch, they're resurfacing their pitch into an astro pitch which would be great for their club. So when we were rocking out to Colmarstown I was expecting to be on an ok pitch, a lovely stand and be pitched nice and wide. But yeah we were quickly moved to the smaller tighter pitch. I suppose the best way of describing it would lads would be you know the Mario pitch yourselves, very similar to that, very tight and credit must go to Colmarstown. They made it extremely extremely difficult. A toss, just their hold of play and everything was really good on the day. As you said two Liam McDonagh goals sealed the win for Mario Moore. Luck on the balance of play, Mario Moore yeah did deserve it. But look credit must go to Colmarstown. A tough slannery, Thomas Slannery up front for Colmarstown was very good at holding up the ball. Very very effective, brilliant first touch. Colmarstown did hit the post in the first half as well. And yeah credit to Colmarstown. Look they did lose the game but I think in this one credit must go to them. I thought their keeper Alan Finn was excellent as well. Yeah credit to Colmarstown. But like I said battle was really hard in that game and you know Mario Moore really had to work and earn the result of this one. It's good for Mario Moore to keep the ball rolling and you know go into the Canna Cup game. Canna Cup semi-final is coming up in good form. You know scoring goals, keeping clean sheets. It will definitely put them in a good position confidence wise going into that fixture that is very much on the horizon now. Yeah a great win away from home for Mario Moore. In fairness both of you gave Colmarstown United their credit that they deserve. But just to touch on Mario Moore their record since the turn of the year has been unbelievable in fairness to them. And look it might not have been easy but still good to get the three points away. A tough ground to go to. Yeah just quickly on this Colmarstown shot. I didn't realise it until you said it to me this morning that Colmarstown are only at four points from 15 games. That's so worrying. Even though they've come close against top teams like Mario Moore and Salted Leaven. It's fairly damning isn't it four points? Yeah unfortunately it is. As you said they got very close to Salted Leaven early on the year. They only lost to them 3-2. And even that game we were at it was a very close game as well. It could have put an end to their draw so it is unfortunate. Moving on to the next game then. Mirvi United 1 Salted Leaven 3. Berkey I'll start with you on this. You're at the game. How would you sum it up? Did Salted Leaven deserve to win? Yeah I thought they did. But Mirviu started very well. They had Salted bothered in the early stages. And Mirviu took the lead with a goal from Charlie Concanon. He pressed high and forced a mistake between the Salted goalkeeper and his defence. And Concanon followed in and put the ball back to the net. But from that moment on Mirviu had a good chance with Luis Guerrero. He forced a good save from Mamala. If Mirviu had gone 2-0 ahead God knows what could have happened. It would have really put the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of the title race. But credit to Salted. Like the good team that they are they responded. I think it was Scully there right back that scored the equaliser from a set piece. And then within a flash Mikey Fox got a free kick in exactly the area he wanted to get it. Very similar goal to the one that went viral I suppose. The equaliser that they got in the quarter final the weekend before. That put Salted 2-1 up. Mirviu had a few half chances. They brought on Jason Lowe in the second half. Colin Kelly was always going to be a threat for them. But Salted managed to see the game out. And they capitalised in injury time. They put the icing on the cake with another Mikey Fox goal. An excellent finish from distance. He really demonstrated his quality in this game. Yeah, I arrived this one after about 25 minutes obviously. Coming back from Colin's town. It was actually good to see there was about 7 or 8 of our lads at this game. I suppose they were all hoping for an upset for obvious reasons. Kind of staying in the title race. I know Berkley you were giving me updates for the first 25 minutes. I think I arrived when it was 1-0. And as I arrived that Mikey Fox free kick was just given. I think I said to you Berkley. You said just before he took it off. This is definitely going in. It was as good as a penalty to Salted 11 being brutally honest about it. It was in the worst position possible for a Mikey Fox free kick. You just knew it was going in before he took it. It was an excellent free kick. Yeah, I agree with you Berkley. I thought Salted did deserve to win this one. But Mirvue do deserve credit. They demonstrated their battling qualities again. I felt they just got the ball forward a bit more with them diags. Because in fairness their line were shouting it to get them diags in. Just didn't do it enough. Like I was saying to you Berkley in the last 5 minutes. They had Jason Roy and Colin Kelly on both the wings. And you were just going please get a free kick. Just get a free kick. And you've got a chance. So that free kick if you like. I think they got one maybe. Did they in the last few minutes? Yeah. It was well dealt with by Salted. Yeah it was probably the one of the 3 games they played in the last few weeks. Where you probably said yeah Salted were definitely deserving. Definitely deserving winners on the day. But no shame. Mirvue there's no shame in that performance at all. I thought they really really were gritty. Now I probably missed their best 25 minutes in the game I think it's fair to say Berkley. Yeah that's right definitely. Coming back from Colinstown. Yeah look it's a massive 3 points to Salted. Fair play to them. Yeah definitely. It's a great win. Like considering they had Stationer 3 times. And as close as Mirvue were the last 2 times. Salted came out victorious on all 3 occasions. So it's no fun for Mirvue United. But as you said Kevin absolutely no shame that Salted are a stumbling team. They'll probably win the Premier Division at the end. But another team that are looking to win it is Aiton Rye. They were 4-1 winners against Gaughey Hibbs at the weekend. I don't think any of us were able to make it. But that's a really good result for Aiton Rye. Considering Gaughey Hibbs had a really really good season as well. Who's next? Yeah straight off the back of the defeat in Casavera. A great response for Aiton Rye. I suppose you were probably looking at this maybe as a bit of a banana skin. Hibbs are a good enough team. Fair play to Aiton Rye by all accounts. The front 3 again. Connolly, McCann and Gilmour were impressive in this one. But a great bounce back by Aiton Rye. Yeah absolutely I agree with that. I've probably been giddy myself here saying that the title race was done for a while. And that Aiton Rye was well off concentrating on other things. I don't think I was giving Aiton Rye the credit they deserve. Because they've impressed me. Their record speaks for itself. They've impressed me a couple of times that I've seen them this year as well. I was wrong to write them off in that sense. They were top size, top management. Excellent players. Still in the Michael Burnham Cup. That could be one that could... They're in that semi-final and the other side of the draw. Is that right Kevin? Yes as far as I know. To defeat Renmore in the quarter-final Sean. Can you just check there? Yeah I'm just checking here. Noel Renmore and Aiton Rye are actually playing tonight as well. Was it tonight as well? Oh there we go yeah. Apologies yeah. I knew that was still a game they had to play. But you know they would have been heavily disappointed to have missed out. In the fashion that they did in the Conor Cup. But I'd still be surprised if they didn't end the season well. One bit of silverware at least. Because they're an excellent side. And they seem to... They never fade away. They're always there fighting in the background. Regardless of how good Sauterre they are. They still deserve massive credit for the way in which they're handling themselves this season. And hopefully you know they can have a positive end to the season. Yeah definitely. Moving on to the final results in the weekend. A prediction that I actually have gotten right for once. That St Bernard will operate around them. Fair to say at the bottom of the table when both teams are really looking for points. A draw was a very easy prediction to make for this one wasn't it Kevin? Yeah like I predicted he'd operate and win this one. So there was obviously a lot of passion and desire in this one. Probably unlike you know no disrespect some teams in the league. Like all them players from both them teams probably came through the system with both them clubs. And there's a lot of passion there to keep their clubs in the top flight. And look I think here it's probably a better result for Lough Rea. It's a better result for Lough Rea. But I was nearly more impressed by Burners when I seen the result. I was like wow okay Burners aren't going down without a fight. Because four or five weeks ago if you'd predicted that result you would have said Lough Rea. Yeah definitely I agree with that. It was a good point for Burners. Lough Rea were again a team that I was hugely impressed with a couple of times that I've seen them this year. I did tip them to win this one. But you know credits Burners and Lough Rea. We know what they're like. They don't make things easy for you. And they have a massive threat on the counter with the pace they've got. With Bruno and Anthony Burns and the class of Thomas Hoop. So I think Burners would probably be a bit more happier with a point in this one. I know it's still an uphill task for them to stay up. But they're still batting away there you know. Yeah credit Burners. They probably needed to win but they're fighting hard and credits them a job. Probably the fairest result as well. They just have one game left now Burners don't they? Yeah just one game. They've played 17. I think the final game is against Calga as well. They need to win that so to have any hope. And then moving on to the Championship. Starting off with last Thursday's result. Curb Rangers 3 West United 3. I'd say a bit of a shock. I think we all predicted West United to win. Gotta give a lot of credit to Curb Rangers Kevin. Yeah absolutely. We definitely didn't see this one coming. With the way Rangers have been going. As one of our reporters at the game said to us. Rangers lost 5-0 to Tenuig. Was it the week before? And turn around then drawn to West 3-0. It's mental. But I suppose look when two neighbours meet. Things even themselves out maybe a small bit. But fair play to Curb Rangers. West United were 3-1 up. West United were 2-0 up in this game. Fair play to Rangers. They came back. Fair play to them. I know Tommy Murphy was on the whistle for this one. And had a great game by all accounts. So look. Fair play to Rangers. But it still keeps West in the fight. They're still well in the fight for promotion. Yeah West be disappointed with that one. But credit to Rangers. They're really showing the basic qualities that they have. A tough few weeks for them. But they'll take a lot from this result. Massive credit to them. West. I know a good friend of ours, Matthew Forge, who is West's number one fan. And also one of going United's number one fans. He gave us the rundown from this fixture in Terrain on last Friday. And yeah he wasn't impressed with the results. But he still believes that West will have enough to get up ahead of Moyn Villa. And you know he's a great fan. He really knows his stuff. And he really doesn't like Liverpool. No, no. He mentioned that a few times here, Berkley. But I know it's disappointing for West. Especially being 2-0 up. They kind of needed to win that. They're not out of it. But it's definitely going to hurt them in the long run. Then on to... Yeah just quickly. Just the goal scorers in that game. Grealish struck two for West. And Kim Foley scores an equaliser, I think, to draw that game. And then Jack Flaherty scored for Rangers as did Hudner. And who else scored? Who else scored? Duba scored for... Tabisa Duba scored for Rangers as well. Grealish is some player, isn't he lads? Some player. Moving on to Saturday then. A bit of a shock. The University of Galway 2, Dynamo Blues 1. The NUIG still ended up winning, I suppose. But a bit of a shock in terms of how close it was. You've got to give credit to Dynamo Blues. They have taken a fair few beatings recently. I know they lost to the Mervy United B team very heavily. To come back and put in a performance like that to only lose by a goal to the best team in the division by far is fairly impressive, Kevin, you could say. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we probably expected them to win by more. I think it's fair to say. But look, the job is as good as done now. I think they only need a point or something to win the league, something like that. So yeah, look, it's job done really. Look, they probably would have rather won by more. But credit must go to Blues there now. They're fighting for their lives. Yeah, you often see these type of games at the end of the season. There's so much on the line for Blues. I wasn't really as shocked as yourself, Sean, when seeing the results. Because there's so much on the line. And the university, they're already up. So there's not as much riding on it. But I still want to, as we touched on with another team, Division 1, you can never take your foot off the gas when you're at the top. And yeah, it was probably a result that, on balance, that I probably didn't expect in a way. Yeah, no, that's a fair point. I just thought, you know, in Dagen as well, that Darnold Blues have a long way to travel. They put up a good fight. They deserve a lot of credit for it. But ultimately, they got no points from it. Then after Sunday, unfortunately, the West Coast United game was conceded by West Coast United. Just keep an eye on that now, lads. West Coast have now conceded to West, as you said. Now, West Coast pretty much need to win all their games to stay up. So if they do get mathematically relegated, they may not be able to field a team again for a game. And the rule says, I think, that if you concede two games, you've to go back to the bottom of the pyramid. So, like, if West Coast were to concede one more game, they would have to start back in Division 2. So just hopefully for themselves now, they can see out the games. Obviously, first and foremost, try and stay up, because they can still mathematically stay up. But after that, we'll see all the pictures, if that doesn't transpire. Yeah, yeah, definitely. They're not out of it, but I suppose that's a bit disappointing that that game wasn't played. Then on to Corb Stealth 6, Corb Rangers 2. Yeah, Corb Rangers 2. Bit of a shock, that one, 6-2. Berkie, your thoughts on that? Yeah, that was a great result for Rangers during the week, as we mentioned. Both, look, again, in the season, these crazy results can happen. Just one of those games, I think, for Rangers. But there's no taking away from the importance at that point that they got against their city rivals during last week. So, you can be critical of Rangers. Kevin mentioned before about the older statesmen that are talking out to them these days. And that just shows, again, the love of the club they have and the dedication they have to doing the best for Corb Rangers. So, credit here must go to Corb Stealth. They fully deserved to, you know, you don't get six goals by accident. They fully deserved their win in this one. And, again, another club that can be proud of their efforts this season. And they continue to grow in the right direction. Yeah, I agree with everything that Berkie said there. Just goal scorers for Corb Stealth down the day were Keith Greeney from the penalty spot. Chris Greeney, Adam Kenny, John McDonagh too. And former Mellows man, and AFC Renmore man. I think former team mate of Schneeres, Breen Winter, scored as well. Yeah, yeah, good player, very good player actually. I know that's a great result for Corb Stealth. They've had a really good season. Then, moving on to the final game which was played on Monday actually. Tune Stealth, Neil, Perth and United too. That's a great win away from home for Perth and United. They've had a really good season, the first time in the championship in a while. Yeah, absolutely. Look, I don't think this fixture meant too much apart from probably Perth and United going to school together and stuff. But yeah, good win in the derby for the visitors on the night, am I correct? Yeah, yeah, you're correct. Two away from home. Yeah, look, I don't think it's going to make a big difference. Yeah, credit to Kerfin regardless of how much was on the line. It's still a local derby. Any day of the week, Kerfin and Tune, they want to beat each other. So, credit to Kerfin in this one. They had good results there for a while and then they dipped a bit. But they've turned the corner now again. They should be very proud of the season that they've had. Yeah, 100%. I think they're one of the favourites to go down this season. They're very comfortably surviving and have had some really good results, especially that one in the derby as well. They'll definitely take that 2-0 win. Then moving on to Division 1. Before I read out the results, Kevin, I'll come to you on this. There's a bit of controversy around probably United and point deduction. Could you speak more about that, please? Yeah, we don't know the full details. So, look, we have to be very careful in what we say. It is our understanding that Cromwell have been deducted a number of points for fielding an ineligible player in the league this year. The amount of points we believe they've been deducted would mean that they would have to play a play-off against Salford 11B to get promoted in second spot. However, we're not going to say the number because we don't know. We don't know for sure what the number is. Obviously, Cromwell have the right to appeal. There's a good chance they may do that. We don't know. We don't know what the story is. So, obviously, we have to be very careful. But, look, if the point deduction does take place, it would mean the title is handed to MacDara. But, look, I would say to people just, yes, there's probably going to be a twist or two in the road on this one. Yes, I think all there is to say here is watch this space. It's a developing situation. And, hopefully, a fair resolution for all will be reached. And, you know, Cromwell have been excellent this season. And it'd be great to see them back in the championship. So, hopefully, it's not too detrimental, whatever the punishment is, to their promotion aspirations because they've been, by far, the best team in that league this year, I think it's fair to say. And they haven't taken their foot off the gas since they've got promoted as well, which is a sign of a good team. They're not resting on their laurels. And they just want to continue the upward curve that they're on. We've only got literally two minutes on this. OK. So, two results from the weekend on Sunday. Craig Moore, Clare Gaway, three, push forward again, zero. And Gaway, Bowes, one, Merlin Wood, nil. Two good results, very good results for Craig Moore, Clare Gaway. They've really turned it around, haven't they? They have, indeed. It looks like they'll stay up now. I think Bowes won 1-0 against Merlin Wood. Merlin did win a winner. That is massive. If Bowes didn't win that game, they were relegated. And they won it in the 90th minute to sail. Imagine keeping your club up in the third tier, scoring a 90-minute winner. Yeah, we've got around six minutes, but, yeah, unbelievable, unbelievable. Fair play to them, staying up Bowes. And fair play to Craig Moore as well. They needed that win as well. They're not safe yet, but there's a good chance they will be. Yeah, I'm absolutely delighted for Gaway and Bowes here. I can't imagine the scenes when that winner went in. Huge credit to them for such an institution in the Gaway soccer scene. The oldest club in Gaway City, I think, Kevin. Yeah, the oldest club in Gaway, full stop, yeah. Yeah, what a club they are. It's great to see moments like this. Also, Craig Moore, Clare Gaway, hopefully that will be a good result for them in their bid to survive. I know a good friend of theirs, a former player there, Rory Kerber, he still keeps an eye out for the results every week. He's a man that still has Craig Moore, Clare Gaway in his heart, and he's going on to have an excellent career for himself and Mary Arnmore. So, Rory, we're delighted that we mentioned that. Yeah, that's unbelievable for Gaway and Bowes. I can imagine the scenes of keeping your club up in the 90th minute. I think I need to give my flowers to Myrna Wood's SC as well. By all due account, they're gone and they're relegated, but they still put up a massive fight against Gaway-Bowes to stay level for the whole game. But unfortunately for them, they conceded a 90th minute winner. But that's the nature of football, and fair play to Gaway-Bowes, a great club. And quickly then, Craig Moore, Clare Gaway. Yeah, a huge result for them, and to win 3-0 against Cushford, a team who have done really well this season. Brilliant result for them as well. Yeah, just then in Division 2, that game to see who got promoted, Colgha and Kiltulla, they finished 1-0. Kiltulla took the lead early on, but Colgha equalised. That means that second promotion squad is now going to have to go to a play-off, which will be very, very interesting. Yeah, definitely. It obviously shows that both teams are very close together, John 1-0, so it will be very hard to call that play-off. Do you want to go through predictions, or do you want... If we're going to go through predictions, do we need to start a new meeting, or do we just leave it as it is? I think we could start a new meeting and do predictions, if that's OK. With G, I have a bit more time. Any mind? Yeah, I... We'll start a new meeting. Can you set up the meeting to share or something? I can't do it for ten minutes now. Oh, yeah, I was trying to do it. I can't because it doesn't allow you...
