The speaker talks about how their conversation in 2013 about joining a local travel team for their daughter's T-ball skills led to a journey in the world of fast pitch softball. They have seen many games, made connections with people in the softball community, and learned from their own mistakes. They met Scott Vino, who inspired them to create a podcast called the Ohio Storm Coaches Corner, where they will share stories and insights about fast pitch softball. They promise to be authentic and focus on encouraging and helping young women, parents, and coaches in the softball world. In 2013, I had a conversation that would impact our life in a way that I could never have understood. They had just wrapped up a really intense season of T-ball. You know the age where coaches get boys and girls together and they try their best to teach them to run bases in the right direction and not chase the ball after they hit it. My six-year-old daughter loved it. She stood out. She hit the ball well. And the game seemed natural to her. After the season, her coach, a good man named Brian Anthony, asked if we wanted to join a local travel team that he was starting. We agreed. Our daughter signed a ceremonial contract, and off we went. Over the past 11 years, we've seen hundreds of games. We've been a part of numerous organizations and played in tournaments all over the nation. We've even added one more kid to the travel ball world who's on her own journey, which has been fun to watch. We've seen a lot. We've made our fair share of mistakes. And yet, seen an incredible story unfold in front of our eyes. We've been fortunate enough to make connections with players, travel coaches, collegiate coaches, and parents who have their own story to tell. Along the way, we met Scott Vino and his family. Scott is a leader in the Ohio Storm organization and has a long history of helping girls develop not only as players, but as young women. As we shared our own stories, one thing became clear. There needs to be a place passionately dedicated to talking fast pitch softball. A place where we share real stories from parents, coaches, and players. A place where common misconceptions are corrected. A place we hear from people that actually have been there and done that. A place that is focused on encouraging and helping young women, parents, and coaches who are on their own unique journey. A place that we call the Ohio Storm Coaches Corner Podcast. In the episodes to come, we promise to focus on fast pitch softball. We promise to bring you stories from coaches, players, and parents from all levels. We promise to be authentic, telling the good and the bad. Hoping that by being authentic, you'll hear stories and gain insights that you can actually relate with. The softball world's incredible and offers so much promise to so many families. We're excited to share some of those stories with you. Welcome to the Ohio Storm Coaches Corner. We're glad you're with us. We look forward to hearing your story one day too.
