Ryan Chase, a student at Land O'Lakes High School, discusses the importance of personal brand statements. He explains how these statements help depict who we are as individuals and how they can be tailored for specific audiences. Ryan uses his personal brand statement and communication skills in various areas of his life, such as at home, school, and during baseball practices. He emphasizes the need to be true to oneself and not let others' opinions affect us. He also mentions the challenges of being a leader for his baseball team when some players lack motivation. Ryan believes that personal brand statements can help people stay true to themselves and recommends embracing one's true self at all times. He highlights the benefits of personal brand statements for individuals who are still discovering their identities. Greetings, City Council Members. I am Ryan Chase, and I am a student at Land O'Lakes High School. In my leadership class, I have learned to press my turbo button to excel and almost evolve into my true self. We have been learning about our personal brand statements lately that depict who we are as a person for not only a broad group of people, such as everyone we know, but also specific, targeted brand statements towards people such as teachers, coaches, friends, and family. I have used my personal brand statement and open communication skills in my daily life in areas such as at home, school, and at practices for baseball. I use these because my personal brand is who I am, because I am always trying to brighten people's day by giving them a chuckle, and I don't let what other people think of me bother me, which is good, because in baseball, I have to be a leader, and if I let what other people think of me get into my head, I won't be a very good leader and teammate, and just always think about whether or not people think of me as a good leader or teammate, or if they think I'm a bad one. Of my three targeted brand statements, they all come pretty easily to me, but the most challenging one would be consistently being a good leader for my baseball team, because sometimes it seems like other guys just don't want to be there, which hurts, because I put so much work into my craft and that team, and just watch guys show up and want to be anywhere else, which is very demoralizing to me. Some recommendations that I would give to those trying to improve their personal brand would be to just be yourself and don't restrict anything, to just let loose and be your 110% true self. The personal brand statement can help people stay on track to be their true selves. Sometimes, especially with Gen Z, people tend to have multiple personalities when it comes to different groups and audiences, and while this may ring true with our targeted personal brand statements, they help us combine them and incorporate them all together more effectively than if we weren't to have those personal brand statements. They are very, very beneficial for those who haven't found themselves just yet, and it helps them find out who they truly are.
