The main idea of this information is that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind. Fear can have negative physical, mental, and spiritual effects, but we have the power to resist fear and overcome it through the love and strength that God provides. Love is a powerful force that builds up, encourages, and draws people. We are encouraged to be rooted and grounded in love and to have a clear and Christ-like mind. It is important to testify about God's goodness and faithfulness, especially to our children, and to live a life that reflects God's love and power. Prayer is essential in seeking God's guidance, strength, and filling with His love and power. Second Timothy, the first chapter, the seventh verse, it says, For God has not given us the spirit of fear. We all know that fear brings worry, concern, anxiety, and it can even be to the place where it torments us and cause panic. Physically, fear can raise your blood pressure. It can cause strokes. We all know that it can cause ulcers and even heart attacks. Mentally, fear can cause confusion. And spiritually, it can hinder your faith. It can get in the way of your blessings. It can obstruct your view of God. It can weigh you down in the faith and hold you back from receiving all that God has for you. Fear can slow you down. Fear can put you in shackles. The Bible says again, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but he's given us power. And we all know that on the day of Pentecost in Acts 1 and 8, the scripture reads that you will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes into your life. And more than ever, we need to pray that God will fill us with his spirit, with his blessings. Fill us with victory and knowing who he is. Fill us with his word and fill us when we pray and come before his presence. In Isaiah 40, the 29th verse, the 31st verse, it says, And to them that have no might, God promises that he would increase our strength. Wait upon him. He just wants us to wait and believe and stand on his word. In Luke 12 and 19, it says that we have power over the enemy. And the enemy tries his best. The Bible calls him a lion that roars. He has no power. All he does is make a lot of noise. Power to resist him. The Bible says that he will flee from us. Even when he comes in as a flood, the word says that God will lift up a standard. He'll lift up resistance where the enemy can only come so far. In John 1 and 12, it says, God gives us power to become the sons and daughters of God. How awesome is that? When we come to him and give him our lives for forgiveness, he welcomes us into the family of God. And we become his children. Ephesians 3 and 20 says, Because of the power that works in us through prayer and through reading his words, we can stand. God has given us the power and authority to use his name. Speak life. In the name of Jesus, we can pray for the sick. In the name of Jesus, we can pray for those who need freedom in the spiritual realm. We can speak to demonic forces and spirits of darkness. And they will flee because they know the power. The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love. 1 John 4 and 18, There is no fear in love. Why? Because love casts out fear. Love is a powerful force. We all know that. Love is a language that everybody understands. It crosses all cultures. It doesn't matter if you're poor or rich, young or old. Everybody knows the language, the power, the effectiveness, the tool, the passion, the gift of love. Love builds up. It doesn't tear people down. It encourages. Love empowers us to serve and to give. Love is a driving force. We love God, therefore we worship him. We worship and adore him. We desire to fellowship and communicate when we love and embrace one another. And you know what? Our ultimate desire is to be like Jesus. God so loved the world that he gave us his Son that we might have a right of the tree of life. And the Son gave his life that we may be reconciled to the Father. Jesus expressed his love everywhere he went. And we all know that love draws people. It invites people. Love is a healing force. It will heal a wounded heart. John 3.16, for God so loved the world that he gave us Jesus. And then Galatians 5 and 13, it says, by love we serve one another. The Bible encourages us to be rooted and grounded in love. Amen. Love is patient. Love is kind. It doesn't do harm to one another. It doesn't tear one another down. But it builds one another up. God is love. And we are the brothers and sisters of love. So again, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love. And then the scripture goes on to say, and a sound mind. A mind that is healthy. A mind that is clear. A mind that is Christ-like. Romans 12 and 2 says, be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That you may prove, verify, confirm what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Philippians 2 and 5 says, let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus. Psalms 27 and 1, the Lord is my light and my salvation. Of whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Of whom should I be afraid? We are not to be ashamed to testify about the goodness of the Lord. About His saving grace. About His power. About His love. We must tell our children. Encourage our children to walk in the faith. Encourage our children and testify to our children. Let them know what God has done for us. And more than ever, we have to live the life in front of our children. Amen. Talk to them about God's goodness and faithfulness. Talk about God's mercy. And we all know that ministry begins at home. Amen. Evangelism begins at home. God, again, has not given us the spirit of fear. But of love. Of power. And a sound mind. Let's pray. Dear God in heaven, we thank you for your word. We thank you, dear God, for the instructions, oh God. What we go through, what we feel, dear Father. What the enemy tries to put in and pour into our lives. That we can resist that. We can come before the throne of grace and bring you our fears, our anxieties, our stresses, dear Father. Those things that pull us down. Lord, we give it to you. We lay it on the altar. And we're asking you, dear God, to fill us with your love. Oh God, you said love casts out fear. Lord, we're asking God to fill us with your power. Fill us with the Holy Spirit. To lead us and to guide us and to strengthen us. And to remind us of who we are in Jesus Christ. To remind us that we are children of God. Help us to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Help us to hunger and thirst for more of you, dear God. We know that when we read the word and when we pray, we become more like you. And Father, that's what we want. We thank you, Lord. We praise you, dear Father. We lift you up, dear God. Keep our mind with clarity. Keep our mind strong. Keep us, Lord, in the faith. In Jesus' name we pray.
