We are the Light of the World...Let your Light Shine in darkness.
The speaker reminisces about camping trips with their family and the importance of light in dark situations. They discuss how even a small light can illuminate darkness and how natural light can have positive effects. They encourage listeners not to fear darkness because God is their light and salvation. They emphasize the need to believe in Jesus and the transformation that comes with salvation. They urge listeners to be the light in the world, to share the gospel, and to stand up for truth and righteousness. They conclude by offering prayer and support to listeners. Back in the day, Hopi and I would take the girls camping at Yosemite National Park in California. We did the true camping thing complete with tents, sleeping bags, portable propane cooking stoves, and plenty of firewood to keep us warm on clear, chilly nights. What awesome memories of cascading waterfalls, scenic nature walks, starry night skies, and great family bonding while sitting around the campfire. My time was on live howls of the coyotes, Eurasian river waters, and other unique wildlife sounds. And, of course, we were listening for bears as well. I also recall how dark and unnerving it was during those night hours. We were unable to see, move, or leave the campsite without a lantern or flashlight. And, of course, we needed a little courage. What we soon discovered was even the smallest light can illuminate an area of darkness. And guess what? We soon found out we weren't the only campers. There were individuals far and near shining their light in the dark of night, as well as others who used their high-powered light to safely guide followers along the way. What is light? It's like a wave that expands and radiates in all directions. Natural light glows, radiates heat, brightens dark places, reveals hidden things, and exposes what's done in the dark. Some lights can actually promote healing, elevate the human emotion, and cause life to thrive and plants to grow. There may be times in your life you feel as though darkness is all around you. But I'm here to tell you and here to encourage you and here to remind you that God is our light and our salvation and we do not have to fear. David said in Psalms 27 and 1, The Lord is the stronghold of my light, of whom shall I be afraid? And we know that the enemy, his function is to kill, steal, and destroy. But we know that God loves us, we know that God is with us, we know that God will never let go of our hand. And what we have to do is just believe who we are in Jesus Christ. In the supernatural or the spiritual realm, in Psalms 112 and 4, it says, The light rises in the darkness, for they upright, and that's you and me, because we belong to the Lord. When we come to the Lord, there's a transformation that takes place, and it's because of the gift of salvation when it is received. The Spirit of God deposits His light and truth into our hearts, and spiritual darkness and death has to flee, has to flee, because now we have a newness of nature in Christ Jesus. Amen, praise the Lord. We can receive and claim the gift of eternal life. The Bible also says that we are a chosen people. We are part of a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession. And because of that position in Him, we can declare His praises, we can glorify Him, we can call upon His name and know that He is there for us. He has taken us again, brothers and sisters, out of darkness into His wonderful light. God has called you and God has called me to be the light in this dark world. There's darkness all around, there's wildness, there's deception, there's wickedness. Yes, sin is on the rise, but we cannot hide what God has given us. The Bible says that we are the light of the world, a city that cannot be hid. We cannot put our light under a lamp or under a boat, but instead we're to put it up on the stand that everyone can see the light of God, the radiance of God in our lives. Especially in our household, we still possess the hardest place to let the light shine. With God, our light, and His radiance in our life, let it shine, let it shine. That others may see your good deeds and glorify your Father. God is calling us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. God is calling us to make a difference in this world that we live in. God is calling us to be an accessory prayer warrior. God is calling us to carry the good news to those who are lost. We are the light of the world, so let's pray. We must stand up for truth and righteousness. We must be the light in this dark world. We must let others know that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the light. How will others know that there is hope? How will others know that there's a better way? It's when we share the light of God, when we share the gospel, through our lives and through our words, in the name of Jesus. Lord, help us to rise up, help us to stand, help us to be the light in this last generation. Amen. This is Robin from New Generation Christian Family Matters. If you need prayer, please contact us.
