Alright, so we have with us in the studio someone I've known for years and he's actually the first guest that we have since we rebranded and I would just like to say first of all thank you for joining us and so first of all good morning Elder Christopher we wanted to have you on to discuss the book that you just wrote the ministry that you have first of all we wanted to know a little bit about who you are, your background and everything before we talk about the book so tell us a little bit about who you are well good morning everyone, good morning brother pictures, it is so good to be here a little bit about myself, I am indeed a multimedia designer I specialize in animation, graphic design and many other media video, what's not audio I am also, as you mentioned, a missionary, a gospel missionary and I very much enjoy sharing the gospel wherever I go Amen, Amen, love that, love that and whenever a person can capsule who I am by underpinning it with wherever I go first and foremost primarily I want to be known as a gospel missionary that is a plus in my book so you're on today because you have a new children's book out tell us first of all the process of writing it, why you wrote it and where we can find it okay, my children's book, it falls under the brand Elder to Light and the name of the book is Daddy Daddy Help Me Understand Help Me Understand, I really want to know how it was made I would have been using different software I would have used Toon Boom Harmony to create the characters I would have used Blender to create the background and Adobe Photoshop to do the coloring of the book and lastly Adobe InDesign to compile the book together so why did I write this book? I found that indeed it was extremely necessary for children to have media ways in which that they can get to know about the Bible for themselves I mean there are so many difficult things in the Bible to understand and I believe that if children are given it in a medium that they are accustomed to and that they can grasp it will become more easier for them so where can you find this book? this book can be found on my site www.ellelittlelight.com L meaning God E-L-L-E because that's the last part of my two daughters' names my daughters' names are Joelle and Emanuelle right now we call them Joelle and Emanuelle, the kiddie versions and this book was really made with them in mind the interesting thing is that the conversation that happened within this book is actually a conversation that I had with my daughter and some of the really funny parts of the book were things that she actually said and I was like okay I have to record this for future use and this book is made in the form of a poem because I knew that the rhyming system that children use is a better form for getting information that is very difficult to stick into their minds for example when you look at some children find it very difficult to spell long words but yet the longest word that could even be thought of almost every child knows how to spell which is simply the alphabet 26 letters in total they are able to say because it is presented to them in the form of a song twinkle twinkle little star ABCDEFG that song is like putting nails in wood made it solid and concrete for the children and that's what I wanted to create a medium by which children can easily 100% grasp the concepts speaking of children and ministry and incorporating both I started using God-granted and I call it God-granted talents and abilities because I don't see anywhere else persons of as you just mentioned the process of putting that book together a writer would just put pen to paper, pen to computer, pen to tablet whatever the case may be and just compose here you have used a multitude of elements to put this book together the time that was spent on it and for those who know you you use puppet and animation as part of your ministry now the question I have to ask you is why this medium as opposed to you know children nowadays are into their apps and online things you know why this route, why the puppets, why the animation and what would you really get into first of all animation by the way because you are very creative well thank you very much, I'm glad you think I'm very good at animation why puppetry? I will even ask why the children's ministry on a whole as a focus I remember years ago I think this is where I would consider my crossroads in the ministry to be I was at a church actually in Miami and I was given the opportunity to speak to the adult congregation while two elders were going off to this other group and I was looking forward to that so I had everything prepared ready to go but then the elder of the church came and asked me seeing that they're going to a new location if while the two other elders are dealing with the adults if I would be willing to deal with the children and I was like, dealing with the children? I'm here ready to deal with the adults I had all my materials planned and everything so I thought about it and I called my wife and she told me, you know what Christopher? children are people too and I was like, wow, you're so right and in reality, when you deal with children children have the ability of sucking in information and keeping it and in reality it's more beneficial dealing with children because they are now at a stage where they want to take in the information versus necessarily dealing with adults though in reality I found that adults tend to also enjoy the books and the animation as well after thinking about it, I said, you know what? I will try with the children so I went and I made mention to the elder at the time that I would do his request and deal with the children but they were leaving in just 15 minutes 15 minutes? 10 minutes and I was wondering, ok, so what would I do? so I called my wife and she had some children materials and she sent them over to me I printed them off and then I said, ok, what can I do? and I said, ok, let me grab some socks grab some needle and thread and we were out through the door in the car and as we were driving I quickly took the socks and made it into a puppet ok, I got there and when we arrived I finished the one puppet in time I was like, ok, we have a puppet, we have no stage went into the room, I saw some tables and with some permission I took their tables and piled them up on top of each other then I went and grabbed this humongous curtain that they had I mean, it was just amazing that they had everything necessary and they laid over the curtain and we had a nice stage and so then all the kids were brought in and we had a wonderful time learning some very key points concerning who God was and then what was interesting was that when we were finished and myself and the children went back into the main section with the adults every single thing that we dealt with, with the kids was the exact same thing the adults were doing inside of the main hall and so when the elders were talking through the concepts with the adults I watched in awe as the children were there shaking their heads and smiling with full knowledge of what was being explained and I was like, wow, this is very powerful and from that day on I said, alright though I am indeed a minister my main focus will be the children so that the children will be able to understand fully what's going on and get the truth in a way that they can fully not understand, ingest into themselves awesome, beautiful you know what, as I was listening the next question that I have is just made more relevant because I go back into my own experience where normal church missionary work wasn't cutting it for me I had gotten a taste, I had gotten bit by the cyber bug back in 97 and I started to learn how to build websites how to design for people and I focused from then on on online ministry and traditional ministry as you rightly said still was a focus but the person's online gravitated towards and I realized that it was going to take a lot to reach people at the ends of the earth and I thank God to this day that I've had a steady stream of faithful people who are willing to sponsor whatever I was willing to undertake for the Lord and so that leads me to the question because I feel at this point as a person's listening someone out there is like where can I go to support this brother's ministry and so I know you mentioned a website earlier is that same website also available to persons if they want to stop by and say let me put something in this brother's pocket for the ministry yes that same website that website contains many of our animations many of our puppet shows and also it has this specific book if they're available on that site yes all right awesome so at this time I'm going to ask you based on what you said earlier and it's an accumulation of your thoughts so far I'd like you to speak to our audience the parents that are listening about the importance of giving children a strong spiritual foundation yes it is indeed extremely important for children to have a strong foundation because as the Bible says train up a child in the way it should go because when it gets old it will not depart from it when a child is young and you ingrain from you have like the first from the first year to the start of the year that's when you have to get the main strong point into the child even the other congregations understand this and they say hey get me a child from one to three and it's going to be this denomination for life right no I'm not really interested in as much in denomination per se I'm more interested in children getting the opportunity to experience Christ for themselves and learn to love him for themselves and as the Bible says suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven why because children are trusting children have a pure love and they tell you as it is it is usually difficult for them if they have a thought in their mind they just say it they just share that thought and the thing is that when you try to train a child from early then it becomes then it is easier for them to in their spiritual development going on if you try to train a child when the child has already passed teens it becomes so so much more difficult because they would have already been indoctrinated to hate the Bible and to hate spiritual matters by the world the world is right now in a mode of education see you hear the term entertainment it's really edutainment it's really educating the children in all sorts of forms there's so much education going out there for our children that is anti-love anti-love just turn on the news and there's hate on the news constantly we need to have mediums out there in place that would save our children so we have to start early from the time they are babies that's when our training of our children should begin we should be while they are in the womb we should be singing sweet songs to them allow them to know that they are loved and interestingly I am being the father of two children I have personally seen how taking a conscious role in their education and in their spiritual development I am seeing the results that they are producing that Jesus is indeed producing He is really working on them and they are not perfect as most children are not but there is a taint of sweetness and I have noticed that over the years I have seen so many different families and the families that stop and take time in the spiritual development of their children tend to produce children that have some form of class or sweetness about them that you just gravitate towards so it is highly highly important Amen praise the Lord so we have had a very interesting conversation with brother Christopher you have heard how he I mean that right there testimony of God directing him anyone of us who have just a basic elementary rudimentary knowledge of scripture could see that is the arrest of Paul on the Damascus road and him wanting to go his way but the Lord redirected and refocused him and I can't wait for you to get engaged in his ministry and see what it is all about but at this time I will be remiss if I did not ask you Sir is there anything that I have missed in the way of asking you questions that you would like to address at this time Actually I didn't miss anything at all but there is one thing I wanted to add to what I just was speaking about as I said train up a child in the way it should go and it will not depart from it I want to especially give thanks to my mother because she was the one who actually introduced me to puppetry those many years ago not only that she said you know what every young man should be able to have also certain skills so she was very important to my spiritual upbringing but she also made sure I had certain physical skills necessary she made sure I knew how to do puppetry she made sure I knew how to sew how to use a needle and thread she was the one who taught me and if she didn't personally go out of her way to train me then I would not have been able to understand what my true purpose would have been because I would not have had the ability to sew that puppet while we were driving in that vehicle and if I hadn't had the ability to sew that puppet then I would not have learned what my true mission was so I give my mother great thanks and my father too of course I can't leave without his help because his training was essential because without his spiritual upbringing I know for a fact that I would not have been able to accept Christ for myself at 9 years old and I've been following Christ from 9 and I am now 35 and having known you a good chunk of that time I must say that the installation of those values from your parents truly has paid off and I commend them and I commend you so at this time we want to close off this segment but again listeners the information that you just heard about Brother
