Shall we go to the Lord in prayers? Our gracious Father, we thank you for this moment. We thank you, Lord, because we know you want to bless us this moment. Your word is coming to sharpen us. Your word is coming to set us free. Your word is coming as a means of deliverance. I pray, O God, that as many that are sitting under the sound of a voice, let your word bless their lives in the name of Jesus. I pray for them that this world that is coming forth, let it cause a total transformation in their lives in the name of Jesus. I bind every power, I bind every spirit, I bind the forces of darkness standing in judgment against us at this time. I silence them in the name of Jesus. Let your word become fruitful in our lives in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Father, because you are faithful. For in Jesus' mighty name we pray. Tonight, I beg your pardon, tonight we'll be having a very wonderful time with the scripture tonight, as the Lord will be giving us an insight about a teaching, a topic that is very important we discuss in this kind of time. You must understand that as a Christian, you are a Christian for the fact that you are a Christian, you have been called into spiritual warfare. You don't need to look for the enemies, the enemies are looking for you already. Because you are a Christian, the enemies are plotting evil against you. Because you are a Christian, the enemies are always in combat against you. This is not to make you to be much conscious of demons, but rather for you to be alert, for you to be careful, for you to be watchful. Jesus, speaking to Peter, he said, wash and pray, lest ye fall into temptation. It means that for the Christian, for the Christian to overcome temptations, there must be a conscious washing, and there must be a conscious praying life. So this evening, I'll be sharing with you the topic, breaking free from curses. Breaking free from curses. I've seen a lot of Christians that do not believe in curses. They say, well, Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Therefore, there is no cause that is responding or that is active in our lives. And as a Christian, nobody can be on that cause. Well, I understand where they are coming from, but it is good we have a balanced knowledge of the scripture, so that we will not be ignorant of the devices of the enemies. Talking about this topic, breaking free from curses, is to bring to your understanding that one of the instruments of wickedness that demons are using, that human agents of darkness are using, is the instrument of curse. You must understand that it is not only humans that cause. You must understand that also, that spirits also cause. Even God in scripture laid down curses. And if God can place curses, it means that angels can cause. Fallen angels. Demons can cause. And some of the afflictions we are going through in life are a response. They are product of curses that the enemies have placed upon us as Christians. That the enemies have placed upon us as humans. And that is why we are coming to study this Bible passage and to study again also this particular topic, so that you can be free. My prayer for you is that at the end of this message, you will see a reason in Christ to be free. And you will pray and you will be free in Jesus name. Let us go to the book of Numbers chapter 2 verse 6. Numbers chapter 2 verse 6. The Bible says in verse 6 of Numbers chapter 2, it says, Come now, therefore, I pray thee, curse me these people, for they are too mighty for me. By a venture I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land. For I would that he whom thou blessed is blessed, and he whom thou cursed is cursed. Where we just read from the Bible now is about the person of Balak and Balaam. Now Balak was a king who came to Balaam, a priest. In our modern time we call Balaam probably we will say it is a juju priest. In Nigeria we call them juju priest. We can say an avalist. We can say a prophet. Are you getting me now? In this modern time, it was a man that was consulting divinities. That was into divinities. A man that was speaking with the dead. A man that was consulting spirits. It was like a spiritualist or into spiritism. And here is a king coming to approach him and said there is just one thing I want you to do for me. I want you to place a curse on these people. Who were the people? We are talking about the people of Israel. And the king of Balak, in order for him to have access over the people of Israel, and in order for him to defeat the people of Israel, he needed a curse to be placed upon them first. He needed a curse to be placed upon them first. So the first thing that Balak was looking for is that, let these people be on that curse. So that even when we attack them, we will be able to defeat them. And this reminds me about the person of Achan in the book of Joshua chapter 6, chapter 7. If you read that, you are going to see the story of Achan. Achan went for battle and then he took from the Babylonian garment and then he brought it into his house and ate it in his house. And that became an accursed thing for the people of Israel. When they went to fight a small nation called Ai, that nation was able to defeat them, not because God was not aware of the battle, but because they were accursed. They were accursed and it made them to become vulnerable for the enemies to attack. One of the things you must understand about curses is that, curses come to make you vulnerable for spiritual attack. That means when you are under curses, when you have been cursed by God, cursed by the enemies, when you are under spiritual curses, it gives the enemy power to torment you. It opens doors for demonic attacks. It opens doors for demonic manipulation. It opens doors for demonic affliction. And here is a man, a king, consulting an albalest, consulting a priest. And he was asking that priest, place a curse upon these people. And look at what the priest said. It was like telling the priest, I know that you have the power to curse whosoever you curse and that person shall be cursed. And that you have the power that whosoever you bless, that person shall be blessed. I do not want you to bless these people, curse these people for me. You must understand that just the same way, it happens between Balak and Balaam, consulting Balak, consulting Balaam to curse the people of Israel. So also there are people who are working in the dead night. There are people that are visiting authors. There are people that are visiting priests, juju priests, albalest to curse you. The purpose why they are consulting them, the purpose why they are patronizing them is to make sure that they place a curse on you. And these people go about looking for who can place a curse on you. And that is why as a Christian, you must not be ignorant of these devices that curses are real. And this is one of the tools that the enemies use on believers. And that is why the Lord has permitted me to come and teach you this message. Let us go to Numbers chapter 23. Numbers chapter 23, verse 23. The Bible says in verse 23 of Numbers chapter 23, it says, Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel. According to this time, it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought? Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion. He shall not lie down until he eats of the prey, and drink of the blood of the slain. Now we see that Balaam was then explaining to Balak that there is no enchantment or divination that is fashioned against the people of Israel that will be able to stand. That is because in their midst there is a voice, a sound of a lion. God was with them. And this was why they were not able to place a curse on them. This was why Balaam was not able to curse them. When we talk about the word curse, what is the meaning of this word curse? We want to talk about the word curse. Before I explain to you the word curse, let us check the book of Genesis chapter 49. Genesis chapter 49, I read from verse 3, I think. Genesis 49 verse 3 to verse 4. The Bible says, Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my mind, and the beginning of my strength, and the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power. Unstable as water, thou shall not excel, because thou wentest up to thy father's bed, then defiled thou it. He went up to my couch. Now, Yev is the father, Jacob, placing a curse upon his son, his firstborn, Reuben. And he says, Reuben, you shall not excel. You see, if you read through the story of the Reubenites, you will discover that eventually they were not like in existence, even though they were like they were not existing again, because they could not excel in life because of the sin of his father. It became a generational problem. Reuben, thou shall not excel. And you observe very well that Reuben never excelled. Curses are real. When we talk about the word curse, we're talking about a negative pronouncement or a negative decree against an individual. A negative pronouncement or a negative decree against an individual. So, when somebody pronounce a negative word, use a negative word to pronounce on you, that is a curse. Or when there is a negative decree on you, that is a curse. When we talk about curse also, we're talking about the opposite of blessing. The opposite of blessing is called curse. Are you following me now? So, when you are under a curse, that is the opposite of blessing. The opposite of you experiencing blessing or the opposite of blessing itself is called curse. Now, you must understand that when a curse is issued out, it comes to carry out, it comes to do five things. When a person is, when a person place a curse, or when you are under a curse, curse comes to carry out five functions. Number one, it comes to afflict you. So, when you are under a curse, the person place you under a curse to afflict you. The intention of a curse is to afflict the victim. So, when somebody is under a curse, or when somebody is about to place a curse on you, the intention of the person to place a curse on you is to afflict you. That is number one. Number two, reason why people curse others. The reason people curse others, or the reason somebody wants to curse you is to cast a spell on you. So, when we talk about cursing, we're talking about casting a spell on a person. It can be a spell whereby nothing will be able to work out for that person in life. Are you following me now? So, when somebody cast a spell on you, that is also a curse. Number three, invoke evil spirit against such person. When an evil spirit is invoked against you, that is also a curse. So, somebody curse you is to invoke an evil spirit to torment you. It can be an evil spirit to monitor you everywhere you go in order to destroy any good thing that is about to come to you. And that is also a curse. Number four, when somebody is to curse you, it places an enchantment against you. It makes an enchantment against you. It makes divination, which is number five, against you. Enchantment, divination against you. And that is why you see that Balaam was telling Balak in the book of Numbers, chapter 23, verse 23, he said there is no enchantment against Israel, neither divination against the house of Israel. It means that there is no enchantment or divination that will be able to prosper when you do it against Israel. Divination and enchantment. But what did King Balak came to do? He came to curse the people of Israel. How did Balaam interpret that curse? He interpreted it as divination and enchantment. Now when we talk about curses, there are ways that curses operate. We call it the operation of curses. How do curses operate? The operation of curses. Curses operate in four ways. The operations of curses. So when somebody is on that curse, how does curse operate? Or when somebody is about to place a curse on you, or you are about to place a curse on a person, of course as a Christian, you should not curse others. But if someone is about to place a curse on you, what are the four things that curses comes to do? Number one, limitation. When you are on that curse, curses comes to limit you in life. Curses comes to limit you in life. Number two, poverty or hardship. So when somebody is cursing you, he is placing you in the condition of poverty. He is placing you in the condition of hardship. Are you following me now? So he is placing you in the condition of poverty and he is placing you in the condition of hardship. So number one, limitation. Number two is poverty or hardship. Number three is death. Death. So when somebody is cursing you, the operation of curse is to bring death into your life. It can be financial death. It can be physical death. It can be death in your business. That will just be death. Are you with me? Death can be occurring in the family. When the family is under a curse, you will just see occasional death happening. People will just start dying. So where there is curse, there is death. And then number four, where there is curse, there is failure and disappointment. There is failure and disappointment. So when somebody is under a curse, the person will start experiencing failure and disappointment. So we come now to the types of curses. The type of curses. We have eight types of curses. Personally, I put it down here as eight types of curses. The reason we are teaching you about this is for you to have the understanding, because the Bible says, let your servant gain advantage over us, for we are not ignorant of his devices. Are you following me now? So when you are ignorant of the devices of the enemies, you won't be able to wash and pray. You become a victim of cruelty. So what are the eight types of curses? Number one, we have generational curse. This is a curse that goes from generation to another generation. It means that everybody from that generation, everyone from the previous generation, they have experienced what their forefathers or their ancestors have been experiencing. And that means this present generation, they are going through what their ancestors or what their grandparents went through. So when it is generational, it means it will be going from generation to generation. How do you know that? You go and diagnose it. How do you diagnose the curse? What is the present challenges in this generation? And then you try to investigate about the previous generation and then your ancestors. When you are able to trace the generation to your generation and you see a similar challenge that reflects in every generation, it means that that generation is under curse. That is generational curse. Number two, we have the self-imposed curse. The self-imposed curse are curses you place on yourself with your mouth carelessly. You carelessly confess negative things about yourself. Self-imposed curse. This is where you use negative word on yourself or you keep using negative word to mood your life. You keep using negative word on yourself. That is negative word. That is self-imposed curse. So there are people that curse themselves using their mouth, their mouths. There are people that have laid curses on themselves, by themselves, by using of their mouths. We call it self-imposed curse. Number three type of curse is the guilty curse. The guilty curse in this context means that curses people place on you because you did something against them. You sinned against them. Now this is not just sin against God. We are talking about sin that also affects other people. For example, you went to sleep with somebody's wife. You committed adultery or you committed fornication with someone else's wife, with someone else's girlfriend, with someone else's boyfriend and that person decided to take your case to the occultic kingdom or take your case to go and meet someone that is not worshiping God and they decided to place a curse on you. That curse will function in your life. You are guilty of it so it will function in your life. There are people also that are on that curse because they went to somebody's farm to tea, to tea, to steal. You went to somebody's farm to steal. You stole their cassava. You stole their yams. You stole the thing they planted on the farm and then they placed a curse on you. That is called guilty curse. It's a curse that came upon you because you were guilty, because you went to offend your neighbor, because you went to collect what never belongs to you, because you went to use what you were never permitted to use, because you went to afflict pain on others and then the person decided to place a curse on you. You kidnapped someone's child or you killed someone's child and then the family decided to place a curse on you. You went to steal from someone else and then the person decided to place a curse on you and now we cannot trace that person. But nothing is working well in your life. You are under a curse. So you can be caused by people. Number four, we call it the contracted curse. The contracted curse are curses you get that comes upon you by reason of relationship. Either marital relationship or just a friendship relationship. So you can be under a curse when you are a friend to a person that is under a curse. For example, now we have the person of Jonah. Jonah was running away from God and God placed a curse on Jonah. God placed a curse on Jonah and when Jonah was boarded a ship and he was about to run away from the assignment that God called him for, everybody in that ship almost died. He was the one that was having the curse but the people that were in the same vehicle with him almost died. So when you have relationship with people that are under curse, there is every tendency for you to experience curse in your life also. We call it contracted curse. Also, when you marry a wife or you marry a husband that is under a curse, there is every possibility of you experiencing negativity in your life also. We call it contracted curse. This is a curse that comes upon you by reason of your relationship with people, by reason of your association. We call it contracted curse. Number five, we have the righteous curse. The righteous curse is a curse from God. It is a curse from God. It is a curse that God placed upon a person maybe because that person is disobedient. When a person is disobedient against God, God can curse that person. Jesus cursed a fig leaf. So if Jesus could curse a fig leaf and that leaf never bear fruit again and that leaf never survived again, it means that God can curse you. So we have the righteous curse, the curse that comes from God. Number six, we have witchcraft curse. These are curses from witchcraft, witches and wizards. These are curses from occult people. These are curses from those with voodoo powers and they place a curse upon you. They place a curse upon your marriage. They place a curse upon your business and nothing will work out well for you. You as a Christian, you must understand all this. The reason we are teaching you this is number one, for you to be aware of the devices of the enemies. Then number two, for you to engage in spiritual warfare, to break every curse existing in your life. So we have curses from witchcraft, witchcraft curse. And then number seven, we have curses from parents. We call it parental curse. We have curses from parents, parental curse. These are curses that came from your parents. Your parents placed a curse on you. You never took care of your parents before they died and they were the ones that took care of you. They took you to school and now you never remember your parents again. They are suffering in the village and night and day they are placing curses on you. We call it parental curse. Also you can also put it parental curse and also priest curse. These are curses from priests like pastors, men of God and also abolish people that worship idols. Are you with me now? Now these are curses from them. Maybe you did something against them and the man of God decided to place a curse on you. I pray for somebody here by the power in the name of Jesus. Every curse that is active in your life that is not of God, I break that curse in Jesus name. Then number seven, okay number eight, we have convent breaking curse. Convent breaking curse. You were into marriage relationship and then you broke the convent that you had with your spouse. Breaking of that convent brings automatic curse upon your life. Breaking of the convent brings an automatic curse upon your life. Or you were into blood convent relationship with a lady. Maybe you have a lover and then you went into blood convent with that lover and now you have come to know Christ and you have broken that convent without you effectively breaking it through prayer, renouncing it. That can bring a curse upon you. Or maybe the person you wanted to get married you cannot locate that person and you have already entered into blood convent and such is affecting your life. You must understand that you have to break that curse. I won't talk about the types of curses. We have a type of curses and I won't discuss about that. We have to come to the signs that you are under a curse. What are the signs that you are under a curse? If these seven signs are in your life, you have to go into prayer and you have to pray very very well. Number one sign that you are under a curse is losing good people around you. Losing good people around you. When I say good people I'm talking about people that had your interest in their hearts. These are people that really want to help you. These are people that desire to help you. These are people that have a mind to help you but suddenly anytime they come to think of helping you, there'll be sudden disconnection from them or from you. Maybe they call you and they had a discussion with you that they want to help you or maybe they want to give you money, a particular amount of money or maybe they want to open a business for you. Suddenly something will just happen. There will just be disconnection from that person and that thing has been happening consistently. You are under a curse. You are under a curse because 90% of the breakthrough that will happen in your life, they will happen through the help of people and if those people are always disconnecting from you, there is a problem there. You are under a curse. Number two is when you have a circular suffering. You are suffering. It's like you are moving in a circle. That's why I call it circular suffering or hardship. You keep, you remain in a particular bondage for so long. For the past five years, you have a problem. For the past five years, you are suffering from a particular problem. For the past five years, you have not been able to eat. For the past five years, you have no job. For the past 10 years, anywhere you put in your credentials, your CV, you are never collected for that job. People never employ you into their companies despite all you have been doing. You are a graduate. You are qualified but nothing works for you. It means you are under a curse. Somebody has placed a curse on you. When you are moving, you are suffering. You have a circular problem. You remain in one bondage. You are under a curse. Number three, incurable sicknesses. Incurable sicknesses, diseases or health challenge. You have a sickness in your body or you have disease in your body and then you have consulted the medical and the medical says they have no cure for it. You are under a curse. Incurable sickness. Incurable diseases. When you have it in your body, it's a sign you are under a curse. Number four, continuous rejection despite being worthy. You are experiencing continuous rejection. People are rejecting you. You are qualified for that thing. You are qualified for the job. You are qualified for the position but anything you are about to do in life, somebody must always come up to reject you. You have been experiencing rejection. You are due for marriage. Every man that comes to marry you always reject you. Any man that comes that have the interest to marry you will always reject you. Any marriage you go into after two years inside marriage, you are always being rejected. There is a tendency of being under a curse. You must pray against causes. Are you following me now? Then number five, sudden fall from greatness to grass. Sudden fall from greatness to grass. You experience a sudden fall. Suddenly you lose everything you had and you fell down. You were once working in a very reputable company without offending anybody, without any reason. You were the only one that was dropped from that office. You were the only one that was sacked from that company. You suddenly fell from a quiet company as a worker, living fine. Now you can't even feed. You are struggling to survive. Suddenly you cannot explain what happened and you were the only one that was being dropped. You were the only one that was just being rejected. You just suddenly lose everything you had and you became nothing. Pray against cause. There is every possibility of causes existing in your life. Number six is family evil pattern. Family evil pattern. When you discover that in your family there is a particular challenge everybody goes through. Maybe in your family nobody gets married early. In your family nobody lives above 40 years of age. Anyone that is getting close to 40 years of age will just die mysteriously. In your family nobody goes to the university. In your family nobody becomes great. Every of your family members end up as drug dealers. The ladies end up as prostitutes. Nobody succeeds in life. There is a tendency that you are under a curse. The number seven is lack of people around you. When you discover that you are wholly a loner, nobody wants to come near you. Nobody wants to come near you. People just, even your family, everybody, nobody remembers you again. You are just on your own. You are disconnected from the society. Nobody wants to visit your home. You will just be in that house alone. Nobody wants to visit you. Nobody wants to talk to you. There is no friend. Anybody that comes close to you will just suddenly disappear from you. There is a tendency that you are under a curse. It is not good that we end up this message without talking about freedom from the causes. What can you do to be free from causes? Number one, you have to repent and come under the new covenant. You have to repent and come under the new covenant. What is the new covenant? Before you come under the new covenant you have to repent. You come to Jesus Christ and then you repent from your sin. Repent from unrighteousness and then you accept Jesus into your life. Then he brings you under the new covenant. What is the new covenant? Galatians chapter 3 verse 13. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. He made a curse for us for it is written, curse is everyone that engages on the tree. Now Jesus has brought our curse. This is only made possible when you have come under the new covenant. What does it mean to come under the new covenant? This is when you have become born again. When you have become born again. So when you have become born again there is a legality that places you under a freedom position. So by raising of new birth you are free from causes. But don't forget that demons are like stubborn. They are very stubborn. They would like to execute something to your life that Jesus has paid the price for. Are you with me now? And that is why you will see number three. I will tell you what is number three. So number one you have to repent and come under the new covenant. You have to be you have to come you have to be born again repent from your sin turn away from sin and accept Jesus Christ. Number two you have to do your restitution or your reconciliation restitution. Those people you stole from those people you slept with their spouse those people you slept with their wives with their husband and they are your friends those people you stole their properties from that placed a curse on you those people that you ought and you offended those you impregnated and you ran away from them denying the children they have and those you lure into abortion and after they aborted the babies they eventually lost their womb they eventually affected their health and now you say you are not going to marry them again you were the one that made them to go into the abortion and after they aborted the baby it affected their womb they can't have a child again and now you are you left them you are going to marry another person and they placed a curse on you you must do restitution you must go to them and apologize and reconcile with those you offended go to your parents and reconcile with your parents maybe your parents placed a curse on you go to them and reconcile with them number three is reversing those cause reversing of such cause through spiritual warfare you reverse those causes this is after you are born again you have done your restitution and those things are still functioning in your life what you should do enter into spiritual warfare enter into spiritual warfare you must pray against them you must break that cause break the causes break the yoke break the yoke break the causes and make sure that you are free if you engage in spiritual warfare after you have done number one after you have done number two number two is only is only applicable to those who got you are the you have a curse upon you because you offended someone but if it is demonic cause if it is causes from wishes and wizard number one after you have observed number one by being born again you go to number two enter into spiritual warfare and break those causes and i pray for you the power of god will set you free in jesus name so besides spiritual warfare you can also go to a to an anointed man of god and allow that anointed man of god to set to pray for you he can reverse that cause and reverse it because it that is coming from other people upon your life the anointing can break the yoke the anointing can set you free i believe that this has has blessed you so we're going to go to the lord in prayers you are going to ask god and say lord every cause in my life every cause still functioning in my life lord i pray that you set me free open your mouth and begin to pray begin to ask god to set you free ask god to set you free from those causes ask him to set you free from those causes open your mouth and begin to pray lay your hands upon your head and say lord every cause existing in my life i break the causes by fire i break the causes now jesus begin to break those causes begin to break them now begin to break them now
