Bible (Reina Valera) 15: Esdras

The "Bible (Reina Valera) 15: Esdras" by Reina-Valera is a religious book that follows the events after the book of 2 Chronicles. It starts with the exiles being sent back to Jerusalem by King Cyrus of Persia in 538 BC, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah. Despite facing opposition from non-Jewish inhabitants, the temple was rebuilt in 515 with the encouragement of the prophets Haggai and Zechariah. Later, in 458, Ezra led a second wave of exiles returning. However, upon his arrival, he found that the people had once again fallen into sin. Through preaching the Word of God, Ezra was able to bring about repentance. This book, possibly written by Ezra himself, demonstrates the power of God and His faithfulness to His covenant, even softening the hearts of pagan kings to fulfill His redemptive purposes.
