Many people I know play sports, including my friend who does competitive cheerleading. Competitive cheerleading is expensive due to the cost of outfits and fees to join the gym. My friend Alex has been cheering competitively for five years and has seen an increase in tuition and competition costs. She talks about how this has affected her and her teammates. Many people I have grown up with play at least one type of sport. I decided to reach out to a friend from my hometown who does competitive cheerleading. Competitive cheerleading is known for its high intensity routines, big hair bows, and sparkly outfits. But many people do not know how expensive those outfits are. Many gyms also have a fee just to join. Alex has cheered competitively for five years at Cheer Athletics. While cheering competitively, she experienced a rise in tuition and competition prices.
