Rachel Manning introduces her podcast, Growing in Faith, and her first guest, her sister Cynthia. They discuss the topic of walking in your identity with Christ. Cynthia shares her testimony of how she found her identity in Christ and the importance of being in God's presence, reading the Bible, and having a community of believers. They emphasize the power of testimonies and the impact they can have on others. They also highlight the role of mentors and pastors in guiding and supporting one's spiritual journey. Hello everyone, welcome to Growing in Faith Podcast. I am your host, Rachel Manning, and Growing in Faith is just a Christian-based podcast where I just talk about faith-related topics, and the whole purpose of this podcast is really to help people grow in their faith and help them in their walk with Christ. So as you guys can see, this is not a regular episode today. I'm not by myself. I have my first guest ever, my big sister. I'll let her give her introduction. Hi guys, my name is Cynthia. I'm so happy to be here, I'm Rachel's big sister, Growing in Faith, I'm so excited. I don't want to say what we're talking about today. Okay. I should just say that. So today we're going to be talking about walking in your identity, and you guys, I'm so excited, I'm so blessed and thankful for all God has done through this podcast, and I really have been wanting to do an episode with her for the longest. Finally, God is allowing it to, you know, just like everything is finally coming together today, and this is actually our last, the last episode of GIF for this year. So hopefully by the grace of God, I'm supposed to, I'm trying to, you know, be more strategic with dropping my episodes, trying to be more consistent, dropping them on the same day at the same time. So this is our last episode for 2023, and had to go out with a bang, had to do, I wanted to do something special for you guys, and I'm obviously, I'm so thankful, give all the praise and all the glory to God, and I'm really looking forward to everything he's going to do for GIF in 2024, the new doors, new opportunities, and I'm really just thankful for everyone who supported and who has encouraged and just like, you know, been there. So look forward to growing in faith 2024. So let's just get into today's episode. It is, I wanted to do walking in your identity with Christ. And before we get started, I actually wanted you to do a quick little testimony of how things were like when you first gave your life to Christ and everything. Um, for me, sorry, for me, a quick testimony, okay, well, it started around like 2021. Basically, my whole life, I've been raised up in a church with a family of Christians. Um, so like Jesus and the cross and the gospel, like everything I've, I've known that my whole life, like I grew up in that community. There's a difference between, um, knowing Jesus, knowing of who he is and having an actual relationship with him and not just being saved because of your family, but being saved, like salvation is, it's not like your family and one person like you. Um, so for me, my story, um, basically I was just pretty much lukewarm. I was living in the world. I was seeking validations and other people and other relationships that had absolutely nothing to do with me. And, um, there was a point in time where, um, an incident had happened and I just realized like, God, like, this is not what you have for me. I know that there is so much more that you want to do. And at that time, I think it was 2021. Yeah. COVID had, um, happened like a year before that. And I was, um, in a place where I was depressed, had a lot of anxiety. Um, I had, um, very bad insecurity issues. I didn't know who I was at all. Um, even my friendships or the people who I surrounded myself just weren't the best for me. We weren't holding each other towards God. And, um, it got to a point where I was like, okay, God, like I know that something needs to happen. Something needs to change. And I applied to a school called Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas. Um, it's an institute. I've had family members who've been there before. Um, so I was actually supposed to go in the spring, but I ended up applying last minute to go in the fall and I got accepted. And that in itself was just a testimony because, um, of finances and just the way everything happened. And that was, yeah, like late 2021, fall semester 2021. And ever since then, it's like, God has just been taking me from glory to glory to glory. And it's still a process. I'm still definitely in the process and there's still so much that he wants to do with me. But, um, yeah, I feel like that's kind of where, that's kind of like how it kind of all started with testimony and really knowing who I am in Christ and, um, really taking my relationship with Christ more seriously. That's, that's where it started. I literally love hearing people's testimonies. I think, um, if you guys haven't watched it, I did do my testimony. That was actually my first episode, but there really is so much power in testimonies and like, you don't know anybody that could be watching, like how they might've gone through the same exact situation, felt the same thing, going through the same thing you were going through and seeing how, where you are today, how you made that out of that situation. It helps so much people. And it's like, we don't even realize it, but no matter how, like, I know a lot of people feel like they don't have a testimony because they feel like, oh, I gotta, you know, have all these drugs, addictions. I have to be depressed and, you know, anything can be a testimony. Like it doesn't have to be, you don't have to be like rock bottom and then make your way up to give a testimony. You can give God the praise and glory for literally doing the smallest things. Like you don't know, no matter how big, no matter how small, how much that can help somebody and what is that, what's that doing for the kingdom of God. So sharing testimonies, like always use your platform, use your voice, recall to be his vessel. So I just want to thank you for sharing your testimony. And to get into it, the first question, I just have a couple of questions for you. Today. Yeah, she won't be back. Just saying she will be back. This is not the end. I'm going to have more guests on here by the grace of God. Amen. But for your question, first question that I have for you, how did you start walking in your identity? Like how did you really begin to walk with the Lord Jesus and really grow in that relationship and begin to know who you are in him? Well, when it comes to identity, people think it's more of a matter of having to find themselves when God has given everything that you need inside of you. So it's not a matter of having to find yourself. It's really a matter of revealing, God revealing what's already inside of you. So for me, it was, one was really being in his presence and really reading the word of God and declaring the word of God for the word of God is life. So declaring that over myself, I was really my, it was like my confidence went up and it was like, I was really like, okay, wow, this is not what, this is what I was thinking the world, you know, I was thinking what the world said about me, who I am, but what God said about me, he's the one who's created me. So the creator is the only one who can identify you. He's the only one who can speak, speak and say who you are because he's the one who created you. If someone did not create you, they have no say in your life. So, or, or, or who you are. They have no say of who you are. They can't, you know, you get what I'm saying? They can't, they can't speak anything over you or say negative things about you that are not true, right? Because whatever the word of God says, who you are is true. So for me, that was a big thing. I definitely encourage everyone to just constantly be reading the word of God daily. Even if it's just like a verse, even if it's just a chapter, just constantly doing that daily. It really, it really helps with your identity. And also staying in the secret place, praying, sometimes silence, you know, for me, I would try and pray, pray, pray, pray, pray. And then like, I was like, okay, God, bye, that's it. But sometimes it's like, just really being quiet and listening to what he's saying to you after you pray, because God literally answers your prayers right after you pray. It's just people don't take the time to just sit still. Yeah. And then another thing for me is also just the community, having a community of people. We recently relocated. So as of right now, Houston, we're still building that. But especially when I was going to CF9, I had a community of people who were pouring into me the days I didn't feel, feel low, the days I felt low, the days I was listening to the lies that the enemy was telling me. I literally had friends who were pouring into me and declaring like, that's not who you are. This is who you are. This is what God says you are. So a community of people, community of Christ-centered women or men is so important. And I definitely encourage you to have that. And if you're in a place right now where you're wanting to start that and really wanting to know who you are in Christ and you really don't have a community, if you're in college, I would say join groups and on campus or even start going to a local church that has young community of people. Because that will really help you in speaking to your identity. Absolutely. Yeah, I think those are the main things that kind of like started. Like I said, it's a process. Like even right now, it's still a process. It's never ending. It's never ending. Like God will continuously pour into you. But as far as right, like as far as how it started for me, the main things was staying in his presence, reading the word of God, declaring that over my life. And then just a community, a community as well. And having someone who was also leading you like a mentor or a pastor, that's also extremely important as well. Surrounding yourself with people who whenever you fall down or whenever your emotions are, you know, whenever your emotions are trying to take over, you have people who will help you and build you up. Absolutely. I definitely think that helped me so much. Like when I was in college, I started going to TOR. That's the tree of restoration. That's the college. That's the church that I went to in Lubbock. And it helped me so much, even though I was still going through it. I know that without having that community, without, and those people, they were young too. The people, it was like a youth church. So it's like I could relate with so much people and seeing how a lot of the leaders, like how they were so hungry for God and how they were doing all these things for God. It gave me, it really pushed me to want to know more of God. It helped me realize, you know what, like, yes, I'm in school. Yes, school is hard. Yes, life is hard. But seeing other people pushing it through, especially when you're around people your age, it's like a testimony. It's seeing that on their lives. It's like it helped me be where I am today. So I definitely think surrounding yourself and having a community of people to pour into you is so helpful. And also with another thing, how you were saying staying in this presence, I think like that has helped me so much, like God revealing to me who I am. Because when you really start getting in His Word, you know what He says about you. And a lot of the times I used to let what the world say about me, how people, mainly how people treated me, I let that become something that I viewed myself. And when I started spending time with God, and when He started pouring His love onto me, I started knowing, you know, this is who I am. This is who He says I am. So I definitely think that is, those things are really crucial for beginning that walk with Him and trying to find your identity. And the next question I have for you is, what are some struggles that you know, like, when you walk in your identity with Christ, what are some struggles, you know, that you're going to face? Okay, so for the first one, I would say definitely kind of speaking back into what we were just talking about. So like the lies that the enemy has told you. Yeah. Definitely condemnation. Yeah. He will bring up your past. He will try and make you feel like you, oh, you think because you're doing this now, or you think that you're going to church now, that you're still not the same person who was going out and partying, and you know, stuff like that. He'll bring that up. But therefore, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. Right. So conviction, if you're doing something wrong, obviously the Holy Spirit, as you continue to grow, as you continue to walk with Christ, and you have a deeper revelation of who he is, you will just change naturally. Right. And there will just be things that no longer serve you, you don't have a desire for anymore. So conviction, if you do something, conviction will always be there. But condemnation is not from God, it's not of God, it's from the enemy. So I would absolutely say that if someone who is just starting to walk in their identity or building their relationship with Christ or getting a deeper revelation of who he is, condemnation or beating yourself up is absolutely something that the enemy tries to throw at you. Not even just someone who's you, just now, he still tries to throw that at you. But I think that's definitely a struggle that just be aware of that happens. Another thing is comparison. Comparison is a deeper joy. It is. And if you look at someone else or you see where someone else is, someone else is like a woman or a man of God who is spiritually higher than you, and you look at them and you'd be like, oh, you start to compare and like, oh, I want my life to look like this or why don't I look like this or why am I not there yet? That is a thief of joy. Everybody's lane is, everyone has their own lane. God has given us an assignment and to compare is really limiting God and making it seem like you, God can't do the same, God can't do something like that person has or even do better, you know. And sometimes God might give something to someone, right, earlier on and you're still in a place where you're still struggling or you're still in a place where, you know, breakthrough hasn't happened for you. But maybe God has more for you than that other person. It's just that your process might take more time. So they got it quicker, but yours might take more time because yours is going to be much more than they have. But you're stuck, you're stuck at the place, you're stuck at a point where you're comparing because you're seeing them. And it should be more of an encouragement than comparing to see wildlife. If they can do it, I can do it, right? So, or for example, for me, when I started speaking in tongues, when I started going to see a fanatic, everybody was speaking in tongues. That's how I was. Can't have ever seen, I was like. Everybody was speaking in tongues and I was, I didn't, I wasn't speaking in tongues. And it got to a point where I started feeling like, oh my gosh, I guess there's something wrong with me. Like, what's the issue? But it was really fear and pride. Why, why it wasn't happening. And like, now I can say everyone in this house can speak in tongues. In our tongues, they're like getting deeper and deeper. You know what I mean? But it's like, it's, it's really just a process. So, don't compare. Don't allow yourself to get to the point where you're comparing because God can do so much with you. So much. And your story does not look like everyone else's story. And sometimes I know my pastor, Apostle Innocent John, he said that God gives his, I think he said that something like God gives his toughest battles to like his strongest soldiers, something like that. That's so real. So real. Sometimes you do have to go through like, you know, sometimes you do have to go through that season where everything just looks dry and spiritual warfare happens back to back and it's like everything is just going downhill, downhill, downhill. Sometimes God has to bring you to your lowest so that all you have, all you have left is him so that he can start elevating you and give you the promises that he has for you. So yeah, condemnation and comparison is the, I feel like I went, but yeah. Oh, you're good. Condemnation and comparison is definitely something that when it comes to identity, something I struggled with and I know many people have probably also struggled with. Absolutely. Yeah. And I think with just adding on to what you were saying about comparison, when you are walking your identity, especially in this society, it's so easy, especially with social media, it's so easy to compare yourself. You're seeing, you know, all these aesthetics, people living the soft life, the soft life aesthetic, being a hot girl, being the it girl. There's so many aesthetics, there's so many identities that we see on social media and that society is kind of expecting or placing on women to become like, if I don't act like this or if I don't dress like this, if I'm not in this career field, I don't have worth, I don't have value. So you really have to be careful when you compare yourself. I'm not saying wanting to live a soft life, wanting to be someone that's an influencer, I'm not saying that stuff is bad or anything because y'all, I want to live a soft life. Listen, I want to live a soft life too. But you have to be careful. You can't allow yourself to idolize that because what can start to happen when you idolize all of these, you know, lifestyles that you're seeing and people are living is that you alter your identity to fit into those aesthetics, into those lifestyles. So it's like you're changing the identity God has given you so you can fit into that. So you have to be careful with doing that. And another thing about comparing is God has written our story. I think it's, I don't know what verse it is, but it's like, I knew you in your mother's womb. I formed you, yeah. Yeah, like before the foundations of the earth, God already knew you. He wrote your story. Our story is already written. Like God is not living and there's no time frame from God. Like he lives in eternity. We're living in the now, but what he has already written for us is already done. So like when we're comparing ourselves and we're being envious, you know, jealousy, jealousy is completely different from envy. I believe like jealousy is something that you're wanting something that's yours. And we know jealousy isn't bad because it says in the Bible, like how God, he's a jealous God. But envy, that's wanting something that's not yours. And when we're envious of other people's life, how she was saying, we're limiting and doubting God. Like he can't do a new big thing in our lives. And what God has already placed in us, that's for us. Everything that, what she, her calling is, what my calling is. Nobody can do her calling like her. What the gifts God has placed in her, the talent God has placed in her, the assignment God has placed in her. Nobody can do it like her. Yes, people might be, have the same gifts. People might have the same talents, but it's everybody's assignment is different. What God has placed in you, how you're going to go about it, the personality you have, you know, the location you're in, it's going to be different. So don't despise, don't like, you know, despise what God has called you to do. You know, everybody is different. He has difference for everybody. Embrace it. The more time you spend with God, he's going to reveal to you how much value, how much things that he has placed in you. And, you know, the more time you spend with him, that's how you love yourself more. That's how you see, like, wow, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I can do all things through Christ who strengthened me. I am blessed and highly favored. So it's really just a matter of finding your identity is only going to come through Christ. And one more thing I want to add to how you were saying condemnation, that used to get me, because if y'all knew me when I was in college, in my freshman year, side eye. Like the same, like, I really was a young intern. Like, I was like, I was just, you know, I was having my fun. So it's like to give your life to Christ. I'm not saying people were necessarily condemning me, but it's the enemy. When you go in your room, behind closed doors, it's those voices. Like even with starting my podcast, those lies started coming in. Like, you're not there yet. Who do you think you are? You're not worthy to be doing this. Look at what you were just doing. Even when you get saved, when you get baptized, there's going to be times when we fall into temptation, when we fall into sin. And it's like, how she said there's no more condemnation for those who are in Christ. That enemy is going to try and throw that in our face. And I believe it's 2 Corinthians 5.17. I think I have it somewhere on my phone. Yeah, 2 Corinthians 5.17. This is the new King James Version. It says, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. All things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. So when we're in Christ, who we were, everything we've done, that identity, that self that we had, that no longer exists. We are a new creation. We're a new human being. So it's like we've got to let go of those old things. We've got to let go and allow God to reveal to us our new identity in us. So, one more thing, a few more things I have to ask of you. What are some, like, tips you can give? I want to clarify, y'all. This is not just for women. You know, like, obviously, we're women. We're saying all these things from a woman's perspective. But if there are men watching, thank y'all for supporting. Of course, like, continue watching. But we're mainly, like, fingering, like, towards men. So, like, what are some tips, like, you can give women, like, to help strengthen their identity, like, in walking with Christ? Like, what are some things you did to strengthen your relationship? And, like, how did you let go of your old form of self and really embrace the new identity God has given you? Well, I was just going to start off by saying that it was definitely a process. Yeah. For me, it was definitely a process. And I just feel like, in general, just with doing that, it's like all your childhood trauma, all your insecurities, everything that you struggle with, it's a process, and it's not easy. Yeah. And I would say that you have to be 100% honest with God and yourself. Yeah. If you're still struggling with something and you keep saying, like, oh, no, like, I'm not struggling with it anymore, or stuff like that, I know that you're only lying to yourself. Yeah. And God sees God. He's all-knowing. Yeah. He knows everything. Exactly. Literally. He wants us to talk to him about this stuff. Yeah. He wants us to be honest and have conversations and be like God, like, I've fallen short, or I've done something, like, I've done something, I've done this, or, for example, let me just say something. Let's say stealing. Stealing is something that you struggle with, and it's something that has not been easy for you. Explaining that to God and talking to God, even though he already knows, but it's about intimacy, right? It's about having a relationship, right? It's the same thing with your mom, with your sisters, with your brothers, with your teachers, with your students. You have to talk. You have to tell them. You have to have conversations. Yeah. So it's the same thing with God. You have to talk to him. You have to tell him. And he wants to know this stuff as well. He does. So with stealing, if it's like, God, hey, like, I fell again, or, you know, I'm doing this again. Like, please help me, Lord. Please give me the strength or, you know, to do that. And the thing is, it's not like you're going to automatically stop stealing. But when we pray for those things like that, God will put you in opportunities where it will be easy for you to steal again. Right. But he is going to give you the strength to, it will be your decision to either do it or not. Right. But when we pray like, oh, God, like, I think it's funny because sometimes we do those things. We pray like, oh, God, like, I want to be a prayer warrior or stuff like that. He will really put you. It's not like you're just going to automatically become a prayer warrior. That is so true. He's going to put you in places. He's going to put you in positions so you can pray. Or if you say, God, give me boldness, you're not automatically just going to be bold. Yeah. He's going to put you in a position where here's the mic. Speak. And you're like, I'm not ready. Yeah. This is God giving you the opportunity to be bold. You ask for boldness, God is giving you boldness. So sometimes I think it's funny. I feel like that's kind of a tip. You know what I'm saying? Be careful what you pray for. When it comes to patience, every morning I pray for patience. Y'all, I'm working on, like, my road rage. Okay? I'm not even, you know what? I don't have a rage, in Jesus' name. But every time I pray for patience, I kid you not, there will be something that happens. And I'm a calm person, most of the time. But there will be something that happens that it's like, no way, like, Satan is playing with me today. And then it's like, I remember, like, in the act of me, like, getting upset, I'm like, I prayed for patience this morning. God was giving me. He was helping me trying to grow that. Yeah. It's okay. Why? It's funny, yeah, because when I was, as a native Christian, I'm just someone who's really, like, really learning. It's like, you don't think that. Exactly. It's like, oh, it's like that. It's like, it rests on you. It rests on you. It's like, wait, don't act like that. You've got to put you in positions for that to come out of you. Yeah. So I feel like that's kind of like a tip, I guess, in a way. Yeah. Kind of have that in the back of your mind when you're praying and, you know, speaking identity or like, God, give me more confidence. Okay. You've got to put you in positions where you need to be confident. Yeah. So that's something that I would say. Another thing that I would say that, you said kind of like a tip? Yeah. Like, with some advice, like, what are things that help you, basically? Just another thing is, I would say, being consistent, which, let me say, it's very hard. Especially with spiritual organs. It's hard to say. But I feel like that's honestly a tip. Yeah. It's something that I'm still working with. Yeah. But it's honestly a tip because I feel like just in everyday life, if you say, God, okay, I want to wake up and I want to go to the gym, you start being consistent, that becomes a lifestyle. Yeah. So being consistent with being in the Word daily, even if it's just like five minutes. Like, God will honor someone who is in the Word at least five minutes a day rather than someone who's like five minutes one day, days pass, five minutes another day. Yeah. Days pass, 20 minutes another day. It's like there's no consistency. Yeah. And you know how girls be like, oh, don't entertain me to a vibe that you can't maintain. Mm-hmm. You know? And relationships and stuff like that. Exactly. People, God wants consistency. Right. Just like we desire consistency in relationships and friendships. He wants us to be consistent. Ooh, this is for me. So, yeah. So be consistent. I would say that's a tip. Even if it's like I said, even if it's just a small tip, like I'm just going to wake up and I'm going to be consistent with my sister. I never told her this. But she actually helped me because she told me that she was consistent with praying on her altar every morning and every night. And recently, I need to get back on it. But I was getting to a point where I was, you know, being kind of consistent with that. And things have happened. So now I need to get back to it. But it's like I really admired that you were doing that because it's like the consistency. That's what God sees. It's like, wow. Praying on your altar literally can take five minutes. Going and building an altar and, Lord, help me with this. Or even just thanking him. Lord, I thank you for today. Thank you for everything that you've done in Jesus' name. Amen. You know, something as simple as that. But it's like he's seeing your consistency. Can I just say something real quick? Yeah. To add on to that. With consistency, I 100% agree with you. But I just want to say be careful to not make it like something you're just doing to say that you did it. That's a routine. Yeah. Don't make it purposely like, oh, I read my Bible today. I'm done. It's like in your heart, you're reading the words, but it's not really processing. You're not really spending time with God. I know, like, I've seen, like, people on TikTok. They're having all these, like, they're trying to maintain their Bible streak, which I don't have nothing against. Like, you know, read your Bible to read it, to know God more, to better yourself as a Christian. Don't read it to say you've done it. Don't open the Bible app and close it just to keep your streak like that. Be consistent and with a pure intention in your heart. Like, I'm consistent because I want a relationship with God. I want to know him more, not because I want to have a streak, not because I just want to make myself feel good and say I read the Bible. I didn't even know that was a thing, Bible streak. Yeah, I don't know what app it is. I didn't even know that was a thing. There's one app that they have streaks on. It's like you open the app every day. It's like a streak. But that could be a good thing. But if you're not careful, like, it can be something that you're just opening just to, like, oh, yeah, I read some of the days with God. But it's like, what have you really read? Where's the growth? Yeah, like, don't try and make it like a competition. Like, yeah, I pray an hour every single day. Right. It's like, God is not looking for length. He's not looking for, you know, even like with giving. Like, when you give offering, like, I know it's that story of that woman, like, I forgot what she gave, child. She gave. She gave. Wait, wait. Is that the story where, like, the man and the woman, like, they said that they gave all that they had. Yeah. And the woman didn't. Yeah. And then the woman actually gave all that she had. Right. And then, like, God, like, offered her. And it was little. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like, even with offering, if everything you do in your walk with Christ, it's about heart posture. Like, God is not looking, oh, I'm trying to give 10K, I'm trying to give 1K, I'm trying to give all of this. Like, if you have $5 and genuinely that's what you have and you give, God sees that. If you're sacrificing time that you're intentionally spending, you're sacrificing time to intentionally spend with God, you know, no matter how big, no matter how small that time is, like, God sees your heart posture and everything. So, continue to pray every day. That's the prayer I try to make. Like, create in me a clean heart. Remove, you know, evil desires. Make my heart pure towards doing your will. So, it's like, heart posture is so important when walking in your identity. That would be another tip, I would say. Literally another tip. Yeah. Making sure your heart posture is correct. Like I said, Apostle Emerson Douglas, our pastor, he talked about that all the time. What is your heart posture? Like, we're at the church, we serve. And when you serve, is it just like, oh, like, I'm, you know, serving to be served. I'm serving to, like, say that I do this. Or it's like, God, like, I'm literally coming here to serve for you. It's all about heart posture. So, that's another tip. If you find yourself getting into a place where you're trying to compare, or it's trying to be a competition, or it's more like a, yeah, I'm doing this, I'm so holy, I'm so righteous. Re-evaluate. Check yourself. Make sure your heart posture is right. And it's just something that you do. You can do it every day. Literally just say, God, like, create in me a clean heart. Lord, if I did anything in my heart that was not of you, remove every fleshly desire. Remove every carnal desire out of me in Jesus' name. And just make that prayer. Just make that prayer. Make sure that you have a clean heart. Because it's so easy for little things to happen and then, like, the spirit of pride tries to creep in. Or the spirit of, you know, the spirit of, basically pride, the spirit of pride trying to creep in. And it can be literally like a small door that you open and it can, you know, creep in. But it's like making sure that all doors are closed. Making sure that there's no access for the enemy to come in. A clean heart. So, yeah, I guess that question. You kind of helped me, like, answer that question. Because, yeah, that's a huge, that's a huge deal. God can't use you if you don't have a clean heart. God can't use you if your heart's not pure. If you're someone who's thinking that you're so holy. Thinking that you're so righteous. Or even Christians that get to a point where they want to start judging other people. That's not a clean heart, babe. Re-evaluate yourself. And we're not speaking this for y'all. I'm talking for myself. Everything we say, like, is for us. Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Girl, I just had something else that just came to my mind. No, I forgot. But, what was it? Oh, one more thing I want to, like. Not one more thing. I keep saying that. But it's, like, something else I want to bring up about your identity. And I want to get, like, your input on it. I hope we're not. Okay. It doesn't matter. We know that the Holy Spirit's there. So, I want to get your input. I want to get your input on, like, when you are walking in your identity. Jeez. Like, I just forgot again. Okay. Let me take a look at it. The Holy Spirit's out there in my life. Let me remember. He always comes through. Okay. So, like, when you're walking in your identity. When you first gave your life to Christ. Speaking about, like, condemnation. How did. I know I kind of already asked. In a way, asked this question. But, like, for me, I had a lot of issues with comparing myself. Like, trying to keep up with all of this, like, woman. Being a woman of God. Proverbs 31. Women, like, we see ourselves. And it's like, I always believe, you know, that's something we should strive to. We should always look up to women and men of God. We should always want to be as women. You know, strive to be that Proverbs 31 woman. But I want to get your input on, like, losing. When you come to Christ, do you feel like your personality, you have to give up your personality? Or do you feel like it's more of a character? I feel like for me, I think I had a hard time when I came to Christ. I felt like I had to change my personality. I had to become this whole new person. And I think that's a common misconception people see when they see, like, as, oh, I don't want to give my life to Christ. Because, like, oh, I have to change all my ways. I have to become this whole new person. I have to change my personality. And one thing I say, God is never going to try and change your personality. He will try and correct your character. Like, the character traits, the things that you did, he'll correct that. But the personality he has given you, whether, like, I used to be someone like, not always. I'm still someone that's very, like, you know, when I get to know you, I'm loud. I'm very open. I'm very, like, what is that word that people say? Mommy always calls me witty. And I always used to kind of think, you know, as a woman of God, we're supposed to be very, you know, quiet, soft-spoken, gentle. And if you're like that, be you. Be yourself. But don't fit yourself. Like, there's not a stereotype for a woman of God. There's not, like, something, I need to act like this, I need to speak like this to be a woman of God. Be after God's own heart. Have your own personality. Allow the Holy Spirit to correct your character. But be after his own heart and, like, serve. Show love to others and you're a woman of God. But how do you feel like you dealt with that? I feel like, yeah, you definitely answered the question. I know! I feel like when I asked you that question, like, I started flowing in my head and I was like, alright. I love that because you basically answered the question and it'll just be me kind of, like, adding on to what you were saying. But, yeah, absolutely not. God does not try and change your personality or who you are. Literally, God is a big God. So, who she is or her personality or how she's funny and all that stuff and the way I am, it's like, it's just a small portion of who God really is. So, the way he made you, kind of like how she said in the beginning, I formed you before I knew you. Before he created the earth, like, he knew us. He literally formed us. He doesn't make any mistakes. Exactly. So, there is nothing about you that's a mistake. This world is evil and corrupted, right? So, there are things that happen that might put you in situations where you can be in a situation where you might sin or do things that are not of him. But, the personality, especially in this church, in our church, there's this girl and I love her. I'm not going to mention any names, but she's very, like, enthusiastic. Yeah, enthusiastic. Yeah, and she's like, when it comes to worship, when it comes to prayer, she's like, you know, all of it is free. And I really love that. Exactly. You know, some people just... Yeah. I feel like that's what all of us are. Why? There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, both ways, I feel like both ways is God. How God is aligned on the land, hello. God has literally different names. Exactly. Yeshua Hamashiach, Lion of Judah. Come on. Emmanuel. Different names. Why does he have different names? Because... Different personalities. Different personalities. That's how we all have different personalities. He literally has different names because God is a big God. Yeah. That's why I said, it really comes to a point where you literally have to stop limiting him. Yeah. Because he's so big. So, for you to think, oh, I have to change into this person that's aligning me in line to you. Rebuke that in the name of Jesus. Yeah. You do not have to change. For me, I pray for the spirit of gentleness. But then I also pray, Lord, make me a lioness. Right. Like... Like... Make me a lioness. Make me a lioness in your kingdom. Yeah. Now, I want to be a woman of prayer, a warrior woman, right? I want that as well. But also, God, give me a gentle spirit. Right. Right? To an outside person, it's like, girl, that don't add up. Yeah. But it's possible. Yeah. You can still be a woman of God. You can still be a lioness. Right. But you have a gentle spirit as well. Right. You are submissive under God. You move when he tells you to move. Right. You can be in a place where it's just worship and it's just prayer. But then you also can be in a place like, no, we shouldn't get rowdy in here. Exactly. So, it's... It's... You know, it's like... It's like... Kind of like a balance. Yeah. Like I said, literally, Jesus is referred to a lion in the land. Yes. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion. A lion.
