School uniforms are not effective in improving behavior, attendance, or focus, according to the speaker. Overall, the speaker believes that school uniforms will not address the issues they are intended to solve. I believe that school uniforms won't help behavior, attendance, or focus issues. We should not have to drastically change our clothing for others' focus. That's something they need to work on. From my research, less than half the parents at school believe that uniforms will change a child's focus point on their schoolwork. If there were uniforms, they'd have to be fair for both male and female students. In most cases, the female student's dress code is much more strict while the male student's dress code is more laid back and demanded upon. I believe that we shouldn't have to all look the same to try to improve attendance and behavior issues. ParentingScience.com states that there is very little evidence that enforcing uniforms will remedy behavior problems that occur in the classroom or school hours. It also states that enforcing uniforms may have a negative impact on the student's well-being. There are more cons to the uniform situation than pros, which is why I believe that school uniforms will not help behavior, attendance, or focus issues.
