Achilleid

The Achilleid is a poem written by the Roman poet Publius Papinius Statius. It was meant to tell the story of the hero Achilles from his youth to his death at Troy. Unfortunately, the author died before he could finish the poem, leaving only one and a half books completed. Despite this, the remaining part of the poem is still interesting as it provides an account of Achilles' early life and a unique episode in which his mother, Thetis, disguises herself. Overall, the Achilleid is a fascinating work that sheds light on Greek mythology and the life of one of its most famous heroes.
