The quote mentioned in the book reveals that Gatsby is a mysterious and fascinating individual. People at his parties only hear rumors about him and are intrigued by his enigmatic nature. Even those who don't usually gossip about high society are captivated by him. This makes Gatsby similar to a speakeasy, hidden and alluring. This is the end of the episode, and there will be more to come in the series about The Great Gatsby. Looking back on the book here, I stumbled across a rather interesting quote. This quote is when Nick initially learns about the mysterious host and how he hears things only through murmured rumors amongst guests at his party. Oh yes, I am just seeing it now. It starts with Lucille, narrowing her eyes and shivering. And Nick added that they all turned and looked around for Gatsby. It was a testimony to the romantic speculation he inspired that there were whispers about him from those who found little that it was necessary to whisper about in this world. Gatsby appears to be a romantic and a glamorous person as evidenced by the fact that no one truly understands or knows anything specific about him and instead they only wonder quietly about him. I find it interesting that this mysterious persona regarding Gatsby has captivated the attention of all to the point where even those who are generally unimpressed with or refrain from gossiping about high society people such as Gatsby are still talking about him. Essentially, you just described the attributes of a speakeasy, admirable and mysterious like Gatsby's parties where he could be anyone but you don't know where, just like a speakeasy hidden in plain sight. I think that's a very insightful thing to end this episode on. Thank you guys for tuning in. Like we mentioned earlier, this is going to be our first episode in a six episode series so make sure you guys tune in for the next one. Thank you guys for listening to Beyond the Book, The Great Gatsby, Shrouded in Secrecy. See you next time. See ya. Mr. Rose!
