Climate change is a major threat to the world, according to Sustainable Development Goals 13. It refers to long-term changes in temperatures and weather patterns. Human activities are a major cause, leading to floods in places that used to have plenty of rain and desertification in areas that were once lush. The unit will discuss the causes, impact, and ways to control climate change. Hello everyone. Welcome to the first unit. Today we are going to talk about the first unit that is climate change and its impact. Climate change is a term you must be hearing from quite some time now. According to Sustainable Development Goals 13, one of the biggest threats or challenges that the world faces is climate change. Climate change refers to a long-term changes in temperatures and weather patterns. Such changes can happen due to natural causes like changes in the sun's activity or large volcanic eruptions. But human activities have been major causes for climate change around the world. We are witnessing climate changes like the places where rain was plenty are now facing floods whereas desert is spread at the places where rain was plenty. Snow-filled mountains are now melting down to cause floods like Kedarnath floods in the year 2013. This unit discusses the causes and impact of climate change in our lives.
